00:00Welcome to the video from the Auto Magazine Tuning Blog.
00:03Today, we're talking about a very special highlight from Japan,
00:07the very first Nissan X-Trail Nismo.
00:10This sporty SUV from the land of the rising sun has not only been visually upgraded by Nismo,
00:17Nissan's performance division, but has also undergone a comprehensive technical overhaul
00:21to open a new chapter in the X-Trail's history.
00:25NMO spared little in the way of its conversion of the X-Trail
00:28and initially focused on the chassis.
00:32The revised chassis has been specially developed to offer better cornering stability,
00:38withstand increased acceleration forces and at the same time provide noticeably more comfortable ride.
00:44For the first time in a Nissan model, so-called Kayaba Swing Wolf shock absorbers are being used.
00:51This technology ensures more precise chassis control
00:55and has never been installed in a production vehicle from the brand before.
01:01Another highlight is the IOC all-wheel drive system with electric drive,
01:05which not only optimizes the power distribution to the rear wheels,
01:09but also actively steers the front wheels to improve driving stability at higher speeds and in curves.
01:15Sporty Michelin Pilot Sport EV tires mounted on 20-inch rims,
01:22significantly wider than on the standard version,
01:25ensure the right contact with the road.
01:28To ensure that the steering can keep pace with these new requirements,
01:32the electric power steering has also been revised specifically for the Nismo.
01:37Under the hood, however, the standard engine remains.
01:40Performance increases have not been officially confirmed.
01:45However, the model does have a specially tuned control unit that allows the driver to choose
01:50between a sport and an automatic mode, depending on the need for dynamics or efficiency.
01:56The X-Trail Nismo also makes a clear visual statement.
02:02Dark chrome accents at the front,
02:04a striking front spoiler with the Nismo logo and red side skirts
02:08make it unmistakably clear that this is the sportiest version of the X-Trail series.
02:14At the rear, the diffuser attachment and the redesigned fog lights are particularly eye-catching,
02:20lending the vehicle additional dynamism.
02:23The interior continues to be just as sporty and sporty.
02:27Black materials dominate the cockpit, interrupted by red accents,
02:32which can also be found on the optional Recaro sports seats.
02:35These not only offer excellent lateral support,
02:39but also visually reinforce the sporty character of the SUV.
02:44According to Nissan, the first X-Trail Nismo will be available at Japanese dealerships from the end of September.
02:51The manufacturer has not yet announced an official price.
02:54However, this will naturally be higher than the basic version,
02:58which currently starts at around €20,000 in Japan.
03:01With the extensive changes, the Nismo is likely to be in the region of around €30,000.
