BMW hat mit dem neuen Aeroakustik- und E-Antriebszentrum (AEZ) einen bedeutenden Meilenstein erreicht. Der weltweit grĂ¶ĂŸte und leiseste, stehende Windkanal, jetzt in Betrieb im MĂŒnchner Forschungs- und Innovationszentrum (FIZ), revolutioniert die Entwicklung von Elektroautos. Mit modernster Messtechnik und einem GerĂ€uschpegel von nur 54,3 dB(A) bei 140 km/h ermöglicht der Windkanal hochprĂ€zise Messungen und setzt neue Standards in der Fahrzeugentwicklung.

Der Windkanal, ein 100 m langes und 45 m hohes Bauwerk, ist speziell fĂŒr leise Fahrzeuge konzipiert. Hier wird die Aerodynamik und Akustik von Fahrzeugen wie dem BMW X7 und Rolls-Royce Phantom untersucht. Mit einer maximalen Windgeschwindigkeit von 250 km/h und modernster Messtechnik, wie einer 216-Mikrofon-Akustikkamera und einem Laservibrometriesystem, wird jede Nuance erfasst.

Doch das AEZ geht ĂŒber den Windkanal hinaus. In der zweiten GebĂ€udehĂ€lfte werden Prototypen fĂŒr Hochvoltbatterien und Inverter gefertigt – SchlĂŒsseltechnologien fĂŒr Elektromotoren. Auf 15.000 mÂČ WerkstattflĂ€che und einer speziellen Pilotlinie fĂŒr Inverter schafft BMW die Basis fĂŒr die MobilitĂ€t von morgen. Dank multifunktionaler FlĂ€chen bleibt das Zentrum flexibel fĂŒr zukĂŒnftige Anforderungen.

01:57With over 216 microphones, we can precisely detect the location of the steel formation here, with an accuracy of less than 1 cm.
02:05The frequently changing analysis methods here in the plenum are supported by an extremely fast changeover time of less than 9 minutes for the floor modules.
02:15What is special about this is that the test vehicle can remain fully equipped here in the plenum, is briefly lifted by a vehicle lift and the floor modules are automatically changed underneath.
02:27A special feature here in the wind tunnel is the integration of an all-wheel drive acoustic roller test stand with a roller diameter of 2 meters, which is installed below in the plenum basement and can be integrated into the turntable here in the plenum if required.
02:45We can perform analyses of wind rolling noise regardless of wind and weather.

03:02For this purpose, we have 15,000 square meters of production space available over several floors.
03:10What is special about this production facility is that we can manufacture the inverter here under clean room conditions.
03:16The inverter itself is, so to speak, the heart of the electric drive motor and, from a technical perspective, it converts the direct current that we receive from the high-voltage storage system into alternating current, thus keeping the electric motor running.
03:36By moving to FITs, we are even closer to our interface partners in development and purchasing.
03:42This allows us to make even better use of our synergies.
