00:00Welcome to our latest video from the Auto Magazine Tuning Blog, where we take a close
00:11look at the all-new 2026 Honda Passport. Honda's rugged SUV is set to hit the market early next
00:22year, starting at a mid-range price of $40,000. Honda promises that the fourth-generation
00:32Passport is not only its most off-road capable SUV ever, but after testing a prototype last month,
00:38we can hardly argue with that. The 2026 Honda Passport is truly impressively tough.
00:49Today, we're going to be sharing all the details on this more rugged model,
00:53including its updated powertrain, revised trim levels, and cool features like a foldable
00:57picnic table. Under the hood is a 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces 285 horsepower,
01:06five more than last year. Torque remains unchanged at 355 pound-feet, and a new 10-speed automatic
01:13transmission, tuned specifically for the Passport, replaces the previous 9-speed model.
01:18Honda's torque vectoring IVTM4 all-wheel-drive system is included as standard. The Passport
01:26features stronger forged steel suspension arms and heavy-duty cast-iron pivots. Honda has also
01:33retuned the McPherson front springs and added an all-new multi-link rear suspension. The braking
01:39system has been upgraded to larger 14-inch front brakes, and Honda offers a full-size spare tire.
01:45The vehicle can tow up to 5,000 pounds. Honda will offer the Passport in three trim levels,
01:54RTL, Trailsport, and Trailsport Elite, each with unique design cues.
01:59The Passport RTL features a black front fascia, black body panels, mad black rocker panels,
02:08silver front and rear skid plates, and glossy 7.5-inch Shark Gray Raiders shod with 13-inch
02:13all-season tires. The Trailsport and Trailsport Elite models feature amber LED daytime running lights,
02:23metallic silver skid plates, gloss black front fascia, gloss black bodywork, and orange tow hooks.
02:29They also come with 7.5-inch wheels and are fitted with General Grabber all-terrain tires,
02:37which Honda developed in collaboration with General Tire specifically for this model.
02:44The 2026 Passport features a significantly more rugged design, a 2.8-inch longer wheelbase,
02:51a wider track width of 1.3 inches in the front and 1.5 inches in the rear,
02:55and an increased dash-to-axle ratio due to a shorter front overhang.
03:02It also offers increased ground clearance and improved approach angle,
03:06and the Trailsport features steel skid plates for additional underbody protection.
03:12The matte black rear roof isn't just for styling. Honda has intentionally left this area clear so
03:19that users can lean tall gear against the vehicle without worrying about damage.
03:22Inside, the longer wheelbase provides 1.3 inches more legroom in the rear.
03:32The Passport also features a 10.2-inch digital driver display and a 12.4-inch infotainment screen,
03:38which is 45% larger than the previous model.
03:41Technology highlights include Google Build-In, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay,
03:49as well as cup holders, six of which are large enough to hold a 38cm-wide water bottle.
03:56The new design also improves the Passport's cargo capacity,
04:00offering up to 82.5L behind the first row of seats and up to 44L behind the second row of seats.
04:05The new Passport also brings back the folding picnic table, which doubles as a clever cargo shell.
04:15Honda has equipped the RTL model with leather upholstery and a power tailgate.
04:20The Trailsport features synthetic leather, orange contrast stitching and a panoramic sunroof.
04:25The Trailsport Elite variant offers perforated leather seats, ventilated front seats, rear climate control,
04:34rear door sunshades and a Bose premium sound system with 12 speakers.
04:40Honda will offer the Passport in eight colors, two of which are exclusive to the Trailsport lineup,
04:46sunset orange and ash green metallic.
04:48The manufacturer has not yet announced an official starting price,
04:55but it is expected to be in the mid $40,000 range.
05:00The current 2025 Passport starts at $43,595, including $1,395 shipping.
05:11Passport buyers will also have a variety of aftermarket accessories to choose from to customize their SUV,
05:16thanks to Honda's broadest line of genuine Honda accessories ever.
05:22These include wheels, rock sliders, scuff baits, mall boards, and more.
