00:00Welcome to the video from the Car Magazine Tuning Block about the AC Ace, the new reissued Roadstar from AC Cars.
00:14The ACA Ace is a vehicle that presents itself as the little brother of the legendary Cobra, but with a modern touch that appeals to both combustion engine and electric fans.
00:23With the new Ace, AC Cars has put together a vehicle that is visually very reminiscent of the original from 1963.
00:33The modern Ace is mounted on a steel tubular space frame and has a body made of lightweight carbon fiber laminate, which gives it the classic look that many fans love.
00:41Customers can choose between two visual variants, the Bristol model with the distinctive smiling face or the classic, which is strongly based on the 1963 model.
00:55The basis of the Ace remains classic, but in terms of technology and performance, RC is breaking new ground.
01:02The new ACA comes in two drive variants, one with a classic combustion engine and one as a purely electric car.
01:08For the combustion engine, the British have used the tried and tested Ford Focus Street.
01:15Under the hood is a modified 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with an impressive 300 horsepower and a maximum torque of 375 newton meters.
01:24In combination with a manual six-speed transmission and weighing just 1,100 kilograms, the Ace can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 4.5 seconds and reaches a top speed of 210 kilometers per hour.
01:41In terms of acceleration, the Ace lags behind the famous Cobra, which manages a sporty 3.4 seconds, but is still a real eye-catcher on the road.
01:54The first combustion engine models are scheduled to be delivered to customers from summer 2025, and the price for this gem starts at a whopping 209,000 euros.
02:06As an alternative to the combustion engine, AC cars offers an electric version of the Ace, which was first presented at the 2024 SEMA show in Las Vegas.
02:18This i-version was developed together with Tremac, who have integrated their 400-volt IGT 413 platform into the Ace.
02:26The electric motor delivers an impressive 306 horsepower and a maximum torque of 500 newton meters.
02:36The vehicle is equipped with a 72 kilowatts battery pack, which enables a range of around 320 kilometers.
02:44The EAC's acceleration values are almost on par with the combustion engine, as it reaches 100 kilometers per hour in just under 5 seconds and also has a top speed of 210 kilometers per hour.
02:56However, those interested in the electric model will have to dig a little deeper into their pockets.
03:04In the USA, a base price of $275,000 is mentioned, which equates to around 255,000 euros, and that's before taxes.
03:14Here too, the first deliveries are planned for 2025, although RC has not announced an exact number of units.
03:21The new Ace is a classic sports car equipped with state-of-the-art technology and is therefore able to inspire both nostalgics and fans of contemporary technology.
03:34Whether it can achieve the emotional appeal of its legendary role model remains to be seen.
