Hurricane Melissa has developed into a Category 4 hurricane, the U.S. National Hurricane Center (NHC) said on Sunday (October 26), warning that catastrophic flash flooding and landslides are probable across portions of southern Hispaniola and Jamaica. A day ahead of the storm's arrival, residents in Jamaica stocked up on necessities while travelers said they were cutting short their holidays. - REUTERS

00:00Yeah, we are here, you know, doing the best, you know, getting self-organised, you know,

00:19the gateway, some buy for putting on the house top, keep down the zinc from living.
00:24Yeah, I came here for vacation to reunite with family and friends. I've not been here since I was
00:33five years old and unfortunately my stay was cut short. I came on the 15th. I was meant to leave
00:39on the 29th, but I'm leaving now. We arrived on the 20th of October. Obviously there was no
00:45indications that there was a storm coming. We have spent since Thursday trying to figure out
00:52where and what, but it wasn't until about an hour ago that we got a notification to say that we were
00:57going home. It was a great experience until the weather, till the weather came. It was treacherous.
