00:00The barricaded government situation in Livonia has been going on now for about seven hours.
00:05A lone man's going to be 35 years of age in some sort of mental crisis inside the home.
00:09Family members called, asked for a police welfare check, but they arrived.
00:13He's opened fire.
00:14Two rounds, I'm being told, came from the home.
00:16No officers were hit.
00:17Police backed off, called in the SWAT team.
00:19They see them there.
00:20They've been putting pepper spray into this house all day.
00:23Since about 11 o'clock this morning, the first volleys went in,
00:26and now we're at about 4, 5 o'clock in the afternoon, and they're about to fire another one.
00:30I take this as number six, the sixth round of tear gas going into this home.
00:35They've had no communication with this man.
00:38They're just waiting it out.
00:39They can't rush in.
00:40They just want to take their time, try and smoke the man out with his CS gas,
00:44but none of that seems to be working.
00:45As you see there, smoke now beginning to billow out from this condominium.
00:50It's on Ann Arbor Trail, just west of Wayne Road,
00:52as the CS gas there begins to billow out from this condominium.
00:56This is, like I say, about the sixth time they've fired tear gas into the home.
01:00The man has not come out, hasn't communicated with the police.
01:04WWJ on the scene.
01:05We'll have updates throughout the evening.
