06:19But it's a little on the smaller side.
06:22We would have to make a garden somewhere in this space.

06:29But you've got to keep your minds open because we've got
06:31another two floors to go through in this property.

06:34I am concerned that Brad might like this house just because of the commute,
06:39but I'm really not feeling it.

06:46She would be thrilled to have her own floor.

07:29Mackenzie would like this house just because she could have her own floor,
07:33but I wanted something traditional and a beautiful landscape,
07:36and this, I'm not really feeling it.
07:41Don and Brad have to be a little bit more realistic about where that money is best being spent,
07:46and for me, that's outside of the city.

07:48This is amazing.
07:49The kitchen's probably going to sway your mind on it's pretty much everything she's ever wanted,
07:54but it's way more than I want to spend.
07:56I'm probably most nervous about the cost, how much is everything going to be here.
08:08Moving from the US to a new country is not cheap by any means, but I'm definitely excited about seeing, like, the countryside.

08:18You know, my birthday's coming up.

08:21I'm definitely the spender.
08:23He's more of the realist.
08:25I'm more of the dreamer.
08:27But when I was getting my master's degree, he was so supportive.
08:32He made sure that Mackenzie was taken care of and the dogs were taken care of.
08:37So I'm looking forward to him being able to experience the college life, and I'm going to get a job.
08:44I'm an emergency room nurse, so I'm hoping to get into Cork Hospital, but if not, then I will do whatever I need to do in order to get a job.

09:02I'm going to take Donna and Brad to Market Town just outside of Cork City because of the train.

09:09Commuting-wise, it's okay.
09:10They'll get in and out easy enough for Donna.
09:13This property is a bit of a compromise.

09:16It's a good size.
09:17The price is a little bit over, but for what it's offering, I think Brad's really going to like this.
09:22From Cork City, how far away is Mallow?
09:25You can hop on a train.
09:26You can be inside in the city in less than 25 minutes.
09:29So very, very commutable.

09:36I was kind of hoping for a standalone house.
09:38Well, look, within the price bracket, this is what we have.

09:44You know, it's 25 minutes on a train, but you're going to have to do some sort of commuting.

13:00And I actually had a conversation with Mackenzie, and I was like, I don't know.

13:05I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop.
13:08And she told me, Mom, maybe he's a nice guy, and you need to let it happen.
13:13She was easy to get along with.
13:15We both like video games, so we have that in common.

13:20In Chicago, Mackenzie had her own car.
13:23She went and visited her dad and family friends, and she had that independence.
13:30And here, I want her to be able to thrive and having a sense of independence.
13:37And it is something that we need to keep in mind when we are looking at properties.
13:43Donna has constantly said she wants to be in the country.
13:46Does she want views?
13:47Does she wants fields and sheep?
13:49Well, this house is country.
13:51I know I have to be in the city in the morning, but this is really beautiful.
13:55And it's kind of hard to resist.
13:57The final property I'm bringing you to is a good bit outside.
14:01Now, this is real country country.
14:03This property they may have to overcome with the isolation from Mackenzie.
14:06It's too far away from the train.
14:08They may have to get a second car.
14:09Brad's going to not be happy with the distance he has to travel.
14:12But then, he's all about the price.
14:14And this one is definitely under what they're willing to spend.
14:16But how far away is it?
14:1840 minutes from Cork City Drive.
14:21And it is rural.
14:25This is amazing.
14:27I love the views.
14:29This is way out here though.
14:31It is so awesome.
14:32This is exactly what I wanted.
14:35So this is a three bedroom, three bath, detached property for $310,000.

21:11So we're trying to help her with that.

21:14I'm in a private hospital.
21:16I'm middle management in an emergency department.
21:20The commute's working out okay.
21:21It's about a 15 minute walk to the train station.
21:24And 25 minutes to Cork.
21:26It totally feels like an adventure every day.
