00:00Trisha was just a beautiful person. She would make you feel special.
00:13She loved being a mom more than anything and we definitely loved having her as our mom.
00:20That's where they're gonna come from. Your shots are coming from over that tree.
00:25Galen was sure of himself. Very confident and that's what Trisha was attracted to.
00:32Trisha went nowhere without Galen's approval. Galen set the stage for everyone in his life.
00:41We were the characters in his play. She was almost like a prisoner.
00:47A car chase in Centennial this afternoon.
00:51Something catastrophic happened in that truck.
00:55A car chase in Centennial this afternoon.
01:14Santa brought me a new hair dryer.
01:17Trisha was a really good friend and really good mom.
01:22She cared about the people in her life.
01:26Galen was 10 years older than Trisha.
01:29He was well known. He was well liked. He was a man of the community.
01:36And that was something that Trisha really liked.
01:39Galen made her feel like a princess and that there was nobody else in this world but her.
01:45Trisha and I were born on May 7th, 1975.
01:56Trisha was born first by six minutes.
02:00She never let me live that down.
02:03The twins are raised in Sunfield, Michigan by single mother Beverly and have three older siblings.
02:11My dad was not there when Trisha and I were born. And as the years went on, we saw less and less of him.
02:18Trisha and I were country girls. We rode bikes together. We played outside together.
02:23She was very quiet, very shy. I led her around by the hand and protected her.
02:33Everybody knew everybody and everybody knew the green twins.
02:36It's 1992 and Trisha and Terry attend their junior prom.
02:43Look at this. Don't you guys look pretty?
02:53Very excited to be going to prom.
02:55This is the year that my mom made our matching dresses. I wore white and Trisha wore black.
03:07The following year, 17-year-old Trisha meets Brian Briggs.
03:12They started dating and you were like inseparable.
03:17Trisha and I graduated in June of 1993. And then in November, she married Brian.
03:26Brian joins the army. And in 1994, he's stationed at Fort Carson, Colorado.
03:32Trisha was apprehensive to leave the only home she ever knew, to leave the family, to leave everything.
03:49On March 13, 1995, Trisha gives birth to her first son.
03:53C.J. was the light of her life.
03:57Hi!
04:00Mom was a playful parent.
04:04She was always like that, even to me as a grown adult.
04:09She never lost that sight of her.
04:13When C.J. was approximately three years old, Trisha and Brian began having marital issues.
04:19She loved Brian. And so they made it work.
04:25He's tired. Look at him. He's breathing.
04:27Noah was born in 2000. I believe that Trisha thought that having this other baby would help strengthen the marriage.
04:37It's Christmas 2005 and Brian films Trisha and the boys opening gifts.
04:48Okay, Mama Santa this year.
04:50Okay, then Noah's, Noah's my elf.
04:51I believe that Trisha stayed in her marriage to Brian because she truly felt that you get married once.
05:02You're really, really gonna like this one, Dad.
05:04Oh, yeah.
05:05She did not want her boys separated from their dad, even though she was not happy.
05:17After Noah was born, Trisha started working as a title clerk at Douglas County DMV.
05:22In 2006, while at work, Trisha meets local businessman, Galen Westfall.
05:31At the time Trisha met Galen, he was working for a large trash company.
05:38He would come into the DMV almost every day, asking to take her to lunch. She was flattered.
05:46There was a person in her life giving her attention.
05:50My mom was a vibrant, happy person, and she was just so approachable. It's not hard to see why
05:57someone could have been attracted to her.
05:59He wanted her, and he was going to have her no matter what the cost.
06:06Galen Westfall was born September 13, 1964, and was raised in a middle-class family in Castle Rock,
06:14Colorado.
06:15His family was from the area for generations, and owned most of the land in Castle Rock.
06:23Galen was an avid hunter, avid gun enthusiast. He would hunt bear. Anything that was a guided hunt,
06:31he would hunt.
06:32Galen Westfall was born in 2006. At the time Trisha and Galen met, they were both living with
06:51their respective spouse.
06:53In Trisha and Brian's marriage, things were not great. So when Galen would come in, he would make
07:00her feel good. She felt wanted. He just didn't care what the collateral damage would be.
07:08And pursuing a married woman, on top of him being in a relationship, there were no boundaries.
07:14She had asked him to stop, but Galen didn't stop. Galen came in, Galen would send flowers.
07:21Galen would not take no for an answer.
07:30Brian and Trisha's marriage was pretty much over. Galen was trying to help her out and find her a
07:37place to live, a place to rent, and I think eventually they started to get closer.
07:45In 2007, Trisha travels to Michigan to spend Thanksgiving with her family.
07:52She came home with the boys, and at this time, Trisha was getting ready to possibly move out of
08:00the home that she shared with Brian.
08:01She had said she was pretty sure the marriage was over, but she did think,
08:08you know, maybe we should give it one last try.
08:13She's there for a few days, and then out of the blue, she gets a phone call from Galen
08:18stating that he was boarding a plane and was coming to Michigan to see her.
08:23Trisha was not happy about that situation. She just said,
08:30he's coming, and he's not supposed to be here.
08:34The night that Galen arrived in Michigan, we went to Connections Comedy Club in Lansing.
08:41I think Trisha was uncomfortable with the fact that he showed up in Michigan
08:45when she told him not to.
08:49Sitting there at the comedy club, I was watching my friend feel very awkward.
08:54Galen was very touchy-feely all over her, putting his arm around her, pulling her close,
09:02and you could tell she was uncomfortable.
09:06Galen would not take no for an answer. He was going to have Trisha. Trisha was going to be his.
09:12I look back on that day, and I wish I could tell my friend to run.
09:28On her return to Colorado after 14 years together, Trisha officially divorces Brian.
09:37I believe that Galen had a hand in that decision.
09:42I do not think Trisha ever called him out on coming to Michigan unannounced. I think Trisha
09:49thought somebody really, really liked her and just couldn't be without her.
09:55I don't think she saw the red flags.
09:59In the wake of the divorce, Galen offers Trisha and the boys a home to rent that belongs to his friend.
10:06We moved into the new property when I was 13. That was where we also first met Galen.
10:14He was just introduced to us as a friend. He had an office in the second story of the house
10:20that he would conduct all of his business out of. We would see him fairly often.
10:26At that time, Galen was still living with his partner and his daughter, but he pursued Trisha.
10:35He gave her a home, gave her all of this stuff at a very low cost that she could afford.
10:41He had eyes on Trisha 24-7.
10:47He knew who was coming to Trisha's house. He knew who was leaving Trisha's house.
10:51He knew everything about Trisha.
10:55A few months later, Galen and Trisha officially begin dating.
10:59And by September 2008, he's living with Trisha and the boys.
11:04I think Trisha was excited about her new future. I do believe she kind of thought
11:08she was on the right path. Like, life was going to be okay.
11:13Pick his head between your fingers and snap it off.
11:16How?
11:17How? I told you.
11:19Galen would take us out hunting, and that was one of the ways that he would bond with us.
11:25That's where they're going to come from. Your shots are coming from over that tree, Bennett.
11:28I think that Galen believed that if he befriended CJ and Noah, that he would have absolute control over their mom.
11:40Galen now owns a waste disposal business.
11:48Galen started his company, and it was a fairly successful business.
11:53Galen would take trips. Galen would spend money on things that most normal people could not spend money on.
12:04She was a prize to him. That is what Trisha was to Galen.
12:08Galen wanted Trisha to get breast implants so that she would be the picture of the perfect trophy wife.
12:19And Galen slowly isolates Trisha.
12:24Trisha went basically nowhere without Galen or Galen's approval.
12:31Galen literally would call her first thing in the morning to her drive into work,
12:35would talk to her all the way until she got to work. And then as soon as she walked out of
12:40the county building, Galen was calling her again.
12:44I had all along thought that it was a weird relationship.
12:49It was hard to talk to Trisha. It was hard to even get her on the phone,
12:52because you were competing with Galen every single day, 365 days a year.
13:01Coming down.
13:05See him?
13:05Yeah.
13:08Just a few months into his relationship with Trisha, Galen prepares to ask CJ an important question.
13:15He took me out on a hunting trip.
13:18We drove around, and we got to our spot, and then he told me,
13:22hey, I want to propose to your mom. Would you be against that? And it took me a second to think
13:29about it, but I wanted my mom to be happy, and she seemed happy. So I gave him my blessing.
13:35I actually told her, are you sure you want to do it again? Maybe you should wait a little bit.
13:47She's like, oh, it'll be fine. No biggies. And I was like, okay.
13:52Hey. More hunting here.
13:55All right. Oh, cool.
13:58It's Christmas morning, 2008, and Galen and Trisha's first holiday season as an engaged couple.
14:04What? This?
14:05Yeah.
14:06Yeah, what's that?
14:07That other one. I don't play with dolls. The gun.
14:10Oh, this?
14:11Oh, this?
14:12Noah never took a particular interest in hunting and shooting guns like I had. So Galen did grow
14:20frustrated because it was working with me, but it wasn't working with him.
14:24Man, the gun.
14:25This is not a doll.
14:27Galen was very good at raiding a room, knowing where people's emotions were at any moment,
14:35and where he could step in and control that situation.
14:41Santa brought me a new hair dryer.
14:44Woo-hoo. He's awful good. He just, he must have figured out that you're broke.
14:51In 2009, Galen and Trisha make things official.
14:55Galen and Trisha traveled to Mexico in September of 2009 to sign their marriage license.
15:07Back in Castle Rock, the newlyweds throw a lavish wedding party
15:10in the backyard of one of Galen's wealthy friends.
15:16The following year, Terry and her husband moved from Michigan to Colorado.
15:21In 2010, my husband was let go from his job after a motorcycle accident.
15:28Trisha and Galen owned a waste disposal business,
15:31and they offered for my husband and I to come out, and Galen would teach us how to run the business.
15:37And in a year's time, if we wanted to, we could buy the business from them.
15:41I believe that when Galen approached Terry and Scott about moving to Colorado,
15:50that was a total control move.
15:53It was all for Trisha.
15:54It was to make sure that he could monitor everything that was going on,
15:59even in the relationship with her twin.
16:01It was not very often that I had time alone with Trisha.
16:08Galen was always somewhere.
16:12It was very clear that the marriage was already rocky.
16:20In 2011, Galen loans Terry and her husband the money to buy the business.
16:25The contract to buy this business was a five-year installment loan.
16:32Galen's behavior changed when we paid off the company at two and a half years instead of five.
16:40There was a dispute on the remaining amount.
16:44Galen believed that we still owed several thousand dollars.
16:49Galen began to make up anything, any kind of lie he could.
16:53Galen had to have ultimate power and control, not only over Trisha, but over everyone.
17:15Trisha and I did not speak for a year and a half because of this situation.
17:20Galen absolutely wanted to separate Trisha and I so he could control Trisha.
17:31I lost a year and a half of my life with my sister.
17:36Every time CJ came over he would say let's call mom. Eventually CJ wore me down and I did.
17:52Galen and Trisha came to dinner and everybody pretended that it never happened.
17:57Hi, I've been nominated by Deb Mason to do the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.
18:04I am going to nominate my sons, CJ and Noah Briggs.
18:09Causes like this were at the center of Trisha's heart.
18:13I'm ready.
18:17Oh my god.
18:18That same month CJ joins the army.
18:21Aunt Trisha look at his sausage wrapping.
18:25So Christmas of 2014 CJ was home on leave. We spent Christmas as a family in our home.
18:33Galen always kind of stood back and surveilled a situation.
18:42Galen always knew where Trisha was at, whether she left a room or was in the room with him.
18:50He always knew where she was.
18:54In January of 2017, Trisha makes a rare trip back to Michigan.
19:00Trisha came to Michigan for the boys' great-grandma's funeral and she was staying with me.
19:09Galen was on the phone with Trisha 90% of that trip.
19:14Galen called her from the time we woke up about every two hours.
19:19He was so worried about her being in Michigan, even for like 72 hours.
19:24And so she flew home and that was the last time Trisha came to Michigan.
19:29Galen's business is doing better than ever. And on Trisha's return, he decides it's time to upgrade their home.
19:37In 2017, they moved to the Kryptonite Lane house.
19:40We went from having a 1,300 square foot house in total to a house with well over 4,000 square feet.
19:47When you walked into this big beautiful house, when you went downstairs, it was all weapons, all guns,
19:57ammo, tools to make your own ammo. It was just eerie. I mean, I know people that collect guns and I get
20:04all of that, but this was, this was different. You got a different feeling in there.
20:07You felt controlled when you were down there.
20:14In 2019, Galen called me and expressed that he believed Trisha was going to leave him once
20:22Noah graduated high school. He became more obsessed, controlling, manipulative over Trisha's life.
20:31Noah moved out before he graduated. He moved in to my dad's house full time.
20:37I believe Galen was jealous of Noah. Galen treated Noah poorly because he knew that Noah was Trisha's baby.
20:48I believe the emotional abuse inflicted on Noah by Galen is why Noah left.
20:55Trisha was devastated. It was just another step in isolation and manipulation of Trisha.
21:05I think that Trisha stayed with Galen because she felt trapped. Galen made her feel as though
21:13she did not have the ability to stand on her own two feet.
21:17In March 2020, COVID hits and the world shuts down. Trisha's job was all she had. It was her only
21:32reprieve from a constant monitoring. Not being able to go to work destroyed her. She was absolutely
21:43miserable being home with Galen 24-7. I think she had decided that she was unhappy. She wasn't free.
21:54I think at that point is when 12 years kicked her in the face and said, you're a prisoner.
22:02In October 2021, Galen said that a lady had called that worked with Trisha and had stated
22:19that Trisha was having an extramarital affair at her job.
22:23Galen contacted Arapahoe County HR and filed a complaint in regards to what he believed Trisha
22:33was doing at work. Galen's intentions of going to Arapahoe County HR was to get Trisha fired.
22:41He wanted Trisha home with him under his control 24-7.
22:46Trisha concluded that nothing was found. There was no wrongdoing on their part.
22:52That's when Galen totally spun. He was going to do anything in his power to still have control.
23:01Nine days later, Trisha and Galen traveled to Mexico for their annual vacation.
23:08I think she was just biding her time and agreeing to go and do these things to surpass him until she
23:13could get all of her ducks in a row. I truly believe that Trisha was leaving Galen.
23:20It was just how quickly she could gather the means to be okay on her own.
23:28Eight days after they returned from Mexico, Trisha and Terry prepare for the holidays.
23:33So on November 13th, Trisha and I went Christmas shopping. Trisha came over the following day and
23:40Galen was with her and they got ready to leave and nothing seemed abnormal.
23:47And I yelled at her, I love you. She turned and looked at me and as she was closing the door,
23:54she said, I love you too.
23:55Rapa County 911, what's the address of your emergency?
24:07Uh, I am across the street from Geddes Avenue.
24:11Okay, what's going on?
24:13Uh, there was just a massive car accident.
24:26A car chase in Centennial this afternoon. It happened around 3.30. The Arapahoe County
24:33Sheriff's Office said that two people were found inside a vehicle, both of them dead.
24:37On November 15th, 2021, at 3.35 p.m., Arapahoe County Dispatch is alerted to a traffic accident.
24:47Witnesses observed a pickup truck leaving the roadway hitting an unoccupied pickup truck at a
24:56very high rate of speed and finally coming to rest after colliding with another unoccupied vehicle.
25:05South Metro Fire and Rescue arrived on scene fairly quickly. Upon assessing the occupants of that truck,
25:13they determined that there was a female in the passenger seat and there was also a male driver
25:20inside the pickup truck. Paramedics did determine both victims to be deceased at the scene.
25:27So guys, I'm going to have everybody start backing off. We're going to crime scene this off if you guys
25:30don't mind, please. Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office
25:34Investigator Chelsea Young tries to determine what caused the black pickup to crash.
25:39This doesn't make any sense right now. I wonder if that pickup just got hit in the process.
25:44That's a weird pickup. Because that would make me feel a little bit better that we don't,
25:47we're not missing something. She runs underneath the, uh, in between the seat and the dash.
25:53Did you see? And I open the door and she fell out.
25:56The female occupant fell out of the vehicle onto the ground, at which point they noticed a firearm
26:03also had fallen out of the vehicle and was on the ground next to her. She shot herself. Looks like
26:10a gunshot, doesn't it? Where's the gun there? Right in her lap. Okay. It appeared that there was a
26:16vertical gunshot wound over her left eye.
26:19The male behind the steering wheel had a gunshot wound across his head. It appeared to enter from
26:32the right side and exit from the left side. We have a GSW involving this accident.
26:38Upon finding two deceased victims with gunshot wounds, the death investigation opens up and a wide
26:45variety of possibilities come to play. Were they subject to something like a road raid shooting?
26:52Was it some sort of conflict with another driver?
26:55Are there any surveillance cameras on the building or anything?
26:58We don't have any.
26:59One of the deputies began going to these big office buildings to determine if they had exterior
27:04security cameras. And this one video, it was from a distance, but it did show the Chevy Silverado
27:13leaving the roadway colliding with this unoccupied pickup truck through the parking lot to come to a stop.
27:22It didn't show us a shooting, but important to the investigation, it didn't show any other vehicles around.
27:31They gave me a better feeling that, okay, this wasn't a road rage situation.
27:37Nobody's witnessed anything. They just heard came out. So I have no witnesses of anything.
27:43But investigators still need to identify the victims.
27:46I saw you guys pull her out.
27:47The female victim laying on the ground had an ID tag clipped to her waistband.
27:54And it had the name Trisha on it.
27:56The first name's Trisha, so I went into the email system to the advanced find.
28:00Searched the first name's Trisha, and it came up with Trisha Westpahl.
28:05She's a lead DMV clerk, the clerk and reporter's office.
28:09We were able to identify the male driver of the vehicle by searching the license plate.
28:17Investigators learned that the driver was Galen Westpahl.
28:21We were able to do additional database searches and determine that they were in fact husband and wife.
28:29Arapaho Sheriff's investigators go to Trisha's workplace to try and gather more information about the couple.
28:35Through their investigation, Galen appeared to be a very controlling individual.
28:43Galen believed that Trisha was having some sort of physical affair with one of her co-workers.
28:49So I'd never gathered any sort of evidence that this occurred.
28:53The paramedics tried to do any kind of resuscitation.
28:55Once crime scene technicians had arrived on scene, we finally went ahead and started searching the vehicle.
29:02There were empty shell casings that were found on the floorboard of the truck.
29:10And one behind the passenger seat.
29:13There was a bullet hole found on the passenger door.
29:17It indicated that the projectile was fired from inside the vehicle from left to right.
29:24The driver more than likely fired that shot.
29:27Was this a murder-suicide or was this a suicide pact, in which case they had shot themselves relating to something that was going on in their relationship?
29:42Investigators also learned from co-workers that Galen had indicated that Trisha wanted a divorce and move on.
29:51Galen indicated that he did not want to divorce Trisha and that he actually wanted her to quit her job.
30:00It certainly started giving us a potential motive as to why this incident occurred.
30:07Investigators want to trace Trisha's final steps.
30:11The DMV has a number of exterior security cameras that we are able to access.
30:16You can see Galen arrives in the Chevy Silverado, parks on the side of the DMV.
30:23Trisha leaves her workplace at approximately 3.30 p.m., gets into the passenger side door.
30:33The vehicle pulls away.
30:36And in the next four minutes, something catastrophic happened in that truck.
30:40The following day, detectives informed Terry of the incident.
30:50I kept shaking my head at my husband and saying, he's got the wrong people.
30:55He's wrong. He's got the wrong people. It's not them.
30:59The only reason I knew that Galen and Trisha were dead was because he described Galen's truck.
31:08All I could think was, what are her boys going to do without her?
31:16I was at work and I got a phone call from my aunt and uncle.
31:20And they told me that mom and Galen are dead.
31:25And you need to get home as soon as possible.
31:28I was informed that this was being considered a homicide.
31:31And that the evidence at the time was leading to Galen being the culprit.
31:38In no point in my mind, could I have ever imagined that Galen had done this.
31:43It was somebody that I trusted.
31:46It just didn't seem possible.
31:49Rapid County Sheriff's Office, anybody home?
31:51Later that morning, one of Galen's family members gives Detective Gillespie access to
31:56Galen and Trisha's home.
31:58My intent was to see what the condition of the house was.
32:02Was there signs of a disturbance?
32:05In one corner of the basement, Galen had a variety of different firearms,
32:10different rifles, different handguns.
32:13So it definitely appeared that Galen enjoyed hunting.
32:17You didn't find any notes or anything?
32:18No, ma'am. It's completely clean up here.
32:21Galen's daughter arrives at the home and tells Detective Gillespie that she spoke with her father
32:27the day of the incident.
32:28She felt her father was, quote, off that day. And Galen told his daughter he needed her to
32:37not be at the house by 4 p.m. that day, that she needed to go over to grandma's house.
32:43And he was very emphatic in that.
32:44That led me to believe that Galen had something planned that was going to occur
32:52at that house sometime after 4 p.m.
32:56That same day, Trisha and Galen's autopsies are conducted.
33:02Trisha suffered two gunshot wounds.
33:06Galen had suffered a close contact gunshot wound to the side of his head
33:10at an angle that certainly evidenced suicide.
33:16It was concluded that Galen murdered Trisha and then committed suicide.
33:22While Terry tries to piece together why Galen killed her sister,
33:25she searches Trisha's home security cameras.
33:29It is eerie.
33:32The hair on the back of your neck stands up.
33:40Trisha had security cameras in the home.
33:53After just a few weeks of going through Trisha's phone emails, I retrieve video footage from these
34:01ring cameras and it shows on November 6th, Trisha and Galen arriving home from Mexico.
34:09Trisha's phone.
34:10You can clearly see that things are not good.
34:13You can just tell that she does not want to be near him.
34:20They go to bed and at about 4.30 the next morning, November 7th,
34:26Galen removes the cameras from the home.
34:30The very first camera that Galen removes is from the kitchen.
34:32He then proceeds to the laundry room and then he takes the camera out of the cabinet that is facing
34:40the stairwell.
34:42Each time that he removes a camera, he is looking over his shoulder to see if Trisha is coming down
34:48the stairs.
34:48I believe that Galen was going to bring Trisha home that day and murder her in the home.
35:00And it's just eerie, just watching that, knowing that eight days later he murdered my sister.
35:08Police discovered that on the day of Trisha's murder, a number of her co-workers received an
35:17identical suspicious message.
35:19This text message came from an anonymous phone number.
35:22The texter indicated that they contacted Galen, informing him about Trisha having an affair.
35:32There was now another unknown person that had information regarding Galen's accusations of infidelity.
35:40Detectives are unable to trace the sender, but several weeks later they make an important discovery.
35:46I was able to meet with one of Galen's relatives.
35:50She had contacted me several weeks prior, saying that she had some information.
35:57So you've got to tell me some context events leading up to November 15th.
36:02It's just hard for me, because I spoke with him all the time.
36:06Galen asked me to buy him a prepaid phone.
36:09He wanted me to text him what the lady told him from Trisha's office.
36:12She revealed that prior to this murder occurring, Galen told her to go pick up an anonymous phone and,
36:25on the evening of the 15th, to send out this specific text message to a bunch of co-workers.
36:33You need to know that your wife is having an affair.
36:41In his mind, painting a picture of Trisha cheating on him.
36:45He did twice ask me, are you comfortable doing this? I told him, no, I'm not. But he was so sad.
36:52Looking over all of the interviews, the physical evidence, the sequence of events that we were able to
36:59put together. I think Galen had come to the conclusion he really believed Trisha was having an affair.
37:07He tried to deal with that with her employer and really didn't get any satisfaction,
37:13because they couldn't substantiate anything of this nature was going on.
37:17I think Galen intended to kill Trisha that day.
37:19I think that's why he told his daughter, don't come home from school.
37:26And I think everything in some ways was going to his plan until he picked her up from work
37:33and some sort of argument occurred in that truck. And I don't think he planned accordingly for that.
37:40With whatever argument that ensued in that truck in four minutes, causing him to take Trisha's life by
37:47shooting her twice. The driver's side airbag had deployed. There was blood spatter on the inside of
38:00the airbag and a bullet hole on that airbag from the inside, which indicated to us that the shot to
38:08the driver's head had occurred after the violent collision with the vehicle.
38:14When that truck came to its final rest and the reality of the situation, I think, became very
38:22apparent to Galen, seeing his wife deceased sitting next to him, realizing the damage was so severe that
38:29he couldn't get out of that truck and go anywhere. I think he decided at that point to take his own life
38:37as a way out and as a way to have that final bit of control.
38:41He wanted me to send that text, the group text, which I set my alarm on my phone to send it
38:50around nine.
38:52I think Galen wanted those messages sent to make him look less involved or less culpable for killing Trisha.
39:02Whether or not he was going to stage some other crime scene at that house, making it look like maybe she
39:08walked in on a burglar or things of that nature, we'll never know.
39:13Galen's family member was not believed to have had any prior knowledge of the murder and was never
39:18charged with any crime.
39:20I feel that Galen is the largest betrayal in my life. He's the one that destroyed my family.
39:31Galen Westphal lost control and power over Trisha. And that is the moment he took her life.
39:42You know, Trisha always said, we're going to be those little old ladies sitting in the nursing home
39:48in the rocking chair and he took that from me.
39:53I miss my friend. I miss a beautiful woman that should still be here today
39:58and get to see her sons get married and have kids.
40:01Mom's death has affected me a lot. There's just so much that I wish she'd still be able to do.
40:15And I miss her every minute of every day.
40:17This season on American Monster.
40:33Hey, what's up, everybody?
40:36He was the fun one.
40:37Hey, try to run me off the road.
40:39He was just a funny, cute kid.
40:42It's weird. I think somebody got killed.
40:45Bobby drew several photos of his mother being killed.
40:49It still gives me nightmares.
40:51I don't think he ever imagined it. He was going to have to investigate his own wife.
40:56Why did you not tell us that body was a branch?
40:58He was begging for his life and his mother was begging for his life.
41:02Yeah, brothers.
41:04Really?
41:05I'm like, mom, something bad is going to happen.
41:09Get him out of that house.
41:10I have not seen anything so cold-blooded.
41:16He killed my baby.
41:20There's no substitution for that loss.
41:24It was like sitting and looking at evil.
41:26The king was probably buying her new strawberry sister roars.
41:27.
41:28Oh, no do you want him to be?
41:29Mike?
41:32You could say that some 의ary has are not as experienced household a mother.
41:41She doesn't have a mother of God.
41:43She's into it.
41:45She doesn't have such a person, it's a woman.
41:49She doesn't have a mother of God.
41:51That's what it's called to order her.
