After a lacklustre performance in the first Test by England, possible changes were discussed by Peter Smith, Sam Brocksom and Sam Cook on this week's Serious About Rugby League Show.
Transcript
00:00Obviously, it's must-win now this weekend at Everton.
00:03Would you make changes?
00:04And if so, who would you bring in?
00:07Yeah, I think I would.
00:09I think you have to.
00:10As you mentioned, that physicality just wasn't there at Wembley.
00:13And I think the person, as Sam mentioned,
00:15who could have brought that was not playing,
00:18and it was Morgan Smithies.
00:19So I think he has to come in and be that on the bench.
00:22I don't think he'll start,
00:23because I think Noles will keep his place,
00:25be that if that's the right call or not.
00:27But, yeah, I think Smithies, for one, has to be in.
00:33There's been a lot of talk about Jack Wells being,
00:35whether he deserves his place after his performance,
00:39both in attack and defence.
00:40Obviously, we've all seen the Crichton effort.
00:44But I think A.J. Brimson just brings that extra spark.
00:49I know Super League fans might not know a lot about him,
00:53but he knows the NRL, a bit like Farnworth
00:56and Smithies if he comes in.
01:00He can play one, he can play in the house.
01:04And I think even if he plays in that 14 role
01:06and we go with one hooker,
01:09he can bring that added spark
01:10that might just be that turning point that we need.
