00:00So, Ty, I mean, this team has surpassed, I think, most expectations so far.
00:07If we were going to be nitpicky, and since you played on that side of the football,
00:12the defense gets off to slow starts in these games.
00:16Yes, very slow.
00:18And I think because of the greatness of Josh McDaniel
00:23and who we have as our quarterback right now is covering up a lot of things
00:27that they're going to have to get better in, especially when it comes late November, December,
00:31when you're trying to make that playoff run in for positioning.
00:35So, you can't start off slow because other teams are going to get better too.
00:38But, again, the offense is so good right now.
00:42It covers it up.
00:43It covers it up, but you can't start like that.
00:46You know how it is when you get later in the season, Wiggy, then you get, you know, injuries.
00:49You're hurting a little bit more.
00:51So, you got to start off strong and fast.
00:52And I think I know that Mike Vrabel is probably pounding that into their heads, you know,
00:57hey, we can't start off like this defense.
00:59You know what I mean?
01:00We got certain players out there.
01:01You're making a lot of damn money.
01:03I ain't trying to call nobody out because, man, we all get beat.
01:05Well, what about Carlton Davis?
01:07Okay, making a lot of money.
01:09You got to play.
01:10You know what I mean?
01:10Not living up to it in your mind.
01:12I mean, not to the contract or as far as, like, you know,
01:15not saying that he's not a great player.
01:17I mean, he earned his contract elsewhere.
01:19Don't be afraid.
01:20No, I ain't afraid he ain't whooping my ass.
01:23You know, I ain't never scared, Wickey.
01:25You know that.
01:26But, again, I think he has to play better because there is a standard,
01:31especially when it comes to it.
01:32And it's pressure.
01:33It comes along with it when you're the big time and the big name cornerback.
01:37You know what I mean?
01:37Because right now, you're getting paid more than the actual number one,
01:41you know, which is Gonzalez, Gonzo.
01:43You know what I mean?
01:43So, you're getting paid that type of money.
01:45You got to go out there and perform.
01:47And right now, he's just not playing up to the standards of the contract
01:51or who he was coming in as a free agent.
01:53Yeah, you can't be making $20 million a year and getting cooked out there.
01:57Looking back at free agents, like, I feel like they did a pretty good job.
02:00Like, Milton Williams, to me, is fantastic and has been fantastic.
02:04Milton has done a good job.
02:05I think Harold Landry is seeing a lot of double teams.
02:08I'm seeing him get chipped and stuff like that.
02:09That's why I'm so big on hopefully they add another pass rusher,
02:13take some of the pressure off of Landry because he started off good.
02:16But now it's like, all right, we now need to know where this number –
02:19I think he's wearing number two or something like that.
02:20People figured it out.
02:21Yeah, we need to find out where he is.
02:22And now if you don't have somebody on the other side who can get after it as well,
02:27now they can just focus on you.
02:30And unless you're Miles Garrett, double teams are going to take most guys
02:33out of the pitcher.
02:35So, that's why I'm hoping that they add another edge guy
02:38that will take the pressure off of Landry.
02:40Who's available?
02:41Well, Trey Hendrickson is available.
02:44Well, I don't know if he's available, but there were trade talks.
02:47And Kayvon Thibodeau, one of the Giants defensive linemen.
02:50Yeah, because Brian Burns, they're paying him a ton of money.
02:53They drafted Abdul Kata, what, number three?
02:56So, two.
02:58Number two.
02:59So, that means – and they drafted Thibodeau number five.
03:01Number three, you were right the first time.
03:02Travis Hunter went two.
03:03And they drafted Thibodeau, I think, maybe number five a few years ago.
03:07So, one of those guys is going to be the odd man out.
03:10So, it's ultimately –
03:10So, if they drafted him five a few years ago,
03:13was he's not living up to expectations?
03:15Not as what they want him to be living up to.
03:18And then you pay Burns a ton of money.
03:20So, you're not going to move on from him.
03:23And you know how it is.
03:24You can't have three pass rushes because only two can be on the field.
03:27Right.
03:28So, I think ultimately that's why you hear his name being thrown around.
03:31So, trade deadline Tuesday.
03:33Yeah.
03:34I know that's the number one need for you.
03:36Is that your number one need?
03:38Or do you want a running back?
03:40No.
03:40Hell, no.
03:41I think we got, you know, the running back by committee.
03:43That's how we had success before.
03:44Even when you talk about Drake May, his stats,
03:47how many times with all the great performance that he put up
03:51that you have a number one receiver.
03:53Usually, you have somebody's getting 100 yards.
03:56He's doing all this where he's spreading the ball out
03:59and no one's getting 100 yards.
04:00But yet, his stats and his QBR is amazing.
04:05So, I would agree with Wiggy saying a pass rusher
04:08because defensively, they playing too much damn zone.
04:12Right.
04:12And if you're going to play that much damn zone,
04:14you need a pass rusher.
04:15So, I agree with you, Wiggy, on that.
04:17Or get up in the face and help your guys out
04:19because the Patriots right now,
04:21they're not getting to the quarterback with four.
04:23You have to get creative.
04:24You have to blitz to actually get pressure.
04:26So, if you bring somebody in, like you said, an edge rusher,
04:30it's going to help those guys out in the secondary.
04:32No concern, though, when the weather gets bad,
04:34when it comes to these guys holding out of the football.
04:36Like, that doesn't concern you at all?
04:39Well, I mean, Travion Henderson had a fumble last week,
04:42and he's been pretty solid.
04:43So, I'm not going to, like, jump the gun on him.
04:46We all know what Ramondre and Stevenson has done in the past
04:49and had some issues.
04:50Because there's always a little concern with him.
04:53Right.
04:54But I think when you start to look at the running back position,
04:57it's where is the best value and who is that guy?
05:01Like, so, who would be somebody you could trade for
05:04at the running back position versus somebody you could trade for
05:06at the edge position?
05:08And where are we going to get more value?
05:10And I think you're just going to get more value
05:11with the guys that are available at the edge.
05:13We've been talking a lot about receivers
05:15and how going into the season we were worried
05:17about the receiver position.
05:18And Wiggy's been kind of on this from jump.
05:20Because now it seems like there's no issue there.
05:22Like, our receiver core is great.
05:24What is the change there in your mind?
05:26I think Drake May, you know, similar to Tom Brady,
05:31he makes good players seem great
05:35because he makes the right decisions.
05:37So, you know, you think about Tom Brady's career
05:40when he finally got a Randy Moss.
05:42And no disrespect to the guys that we played
05:44would have won championships would.
05:46But no one looked at them as,
05:48oh, I got to worry about them.
05:49No, you had to more so worry about,
05:51you know, Tom and the decisions he made.
05:53They're all good players.
05:55But when you play with a guy like Drake May,
05:57guess what?
05:57Some of you are going to seem great.
05:59But if you put him on any other team,
06:00like Booyah, I'd like to say,
06:01he's having a phenomenal season right now.
06:03But does anybody come into the game?
06:06I don't know.
06:07And say, hey, I'm worried about him.
06:09But now you have to because of Drake.
06:11No, I'm saying that, I mean,
06:12you have to worry about the overall team
06:14and the scheme.
06:15And hats off to, you know,
06:16kudos to Josh McDaniel again,
06:18because he's still...
06:18Oh, who?
06:19Yeah.
06:20Josh McDaniel?
06:21Hey, Josh McDaniel.
06:22Because I'm telling you,
06:23if you look at his play calling...
06:25It's absolutely nothing to do with it.
06:26Yeah, you look at his play calling,
06:28you know, the misdirection
06:31and the trickery every now and again.
06:34I mean, he is calling masterful games
06:36and Drake May is playing it to a tee.
06:38So you don't need a number one.
06:40You don't need a Micah Irving.
06:42You don't need a Megatron
06:44when you're playing like that.
06:45Hold that thought.
06:47I got to take a quick break.
