00:00Virginia quarterback vindicates Bill Belichick with vehement denial of transfer portal. Rejection.
00:07Virginia quarterback Chandler Morris did not speak to North Carolina during the recruiting process in the transfer portal.
00:13He does not know where that came from.
00:15The initial report is completely false.
00:18This latest college football story about the disaster in Chapel Hill involving Michael Lombardi, Bill Belichick and the Tar Heels seems to be fabricated.
00:27Or, at the very least, misconstrued.
00:31Morris is one of the ultimate journeymen within the sport.
00:34A former three-star recruit, he initially committed to play for his father at the University of Arkansas.
00:40However, his father was fired, so he fled to Oklahoma.
00:44The 6'0", 190-pound quarterback attempted only five passes in five games with the Sooners before he entered the transfer portal.
00:52Morris landed at TCU, where he went 5-4 as the starter over three years, and then it was back into the portal.
01:00Morris had a career year at North Texas in 2024, completing 62.9% of his passes for 3,774 yards and 31 touchdowns,
01:10with only 12 interceptions en route to a record of 6-6.
01:14He was the AAC's leading passer.
01:16His play was good enough to give him one final opportunity on the Power 4 conference level as a sixth-year senior,
01:24so he jumped back into the portal just one last time.
01:28Here is where things get murky.
01:31According to Bruce Feldman, Brendan Marks, and Stuart Mandel of The Athletic,
01:35Chandler Morris made it known he was interested in coming to play for Bill Belichick at North Carolina.
01:40Lombardi, who serves as the general manager of football operations, supposedly turned him away.
01:47Morris eventually transferred to Virginia, where he has completed 69.9% of his passes for 1,428 yards and 11 touchdowns.
01:56He also ran for four more.
01:58The Cavaliers are a currently ranked number, 16 in the country at 5-1.
02:03The Tar Heels are unranked at 2-4.
02:05As amusing as this story may be, according to Mike Barber,
02:09Chandler Morris claims he never talked to anybody at North Carolina during his portal recruitment
02:14and was surprised when this story came out.
02:17His teammates sent him the story during the bye week because Morris doesn't have an account on X.
02:21But since-and-seekish, he was interested in helping the nights at North Carolina during the day when he was talking about him.
02:35And that was a hero of the world's passing by the day, who was the one who was the other one.
02:41And he said, he is the one who was the other one.
02:42And he said, yeah, I'm going to go find out for this.
02:44He's the one who was the one who was the one who was the other one.
02:46He was the one who was the one who was the other one.
