00:00Trump Reaches New High with Black Voters
00:03President Donald Trump is celebrating a reported surge in support from black voters in a new
00:08poll.
00:09However, the results conflict with other surveys showing continued disapproval within
00:13the community.
00:14The survey from Atlas Intel found that 54% of black voters approve of Trump's job performance,
00:20while 46% disapprove.
00:23Among all racial groups, 52% disapproved and 47% approved of Trump.
00:28The poll surveyed 1,066 Americans, with a margin of error of plus or minus three percentage
00:34points.
00:35Approximately 10.6% of respondents identified as black.
00:39This result would mark a major turnaround from previous Atlas Intel polls.
00:44In July, only 14% of black voters approved of Trump, and in May, that figure was 28%.
00:50Other independent surveys continue to show low approval for Trump among black voters.
00:55A YouGov poll from late September found just 12% approval among black Americans, with 86%
01:01disapproving.
01:02A New York Times Siena College poll from the same period showed only 10% approval among
01:07black voters.
01:08Similarly, an NPR, PBS, and Marist poll found 19% approval in late September.
01:15President Trump quickly jumped on the poll's results, taking to Truth Social to celebrate
01:19the boost and support.
01:21He framed the findings as a historic record for a Republican president, writing, Wow!
01:26Such an honor.
01:27Record stuff for a Republican president, Donald J. Trump.
