This Is Where Trump's Approval Rating Currently Stands As Epstein Troubles Heat Up: Pollster

On "Forbes Newsroom," Emerson Pollster Matt Taglia discussed a new poll showing President Trump's poll stablizing due to strong support among men, white voters, and older voters.

00:00But first, let's start the conversation with the leader of the Republican Party,

00:04President Donald Trump. What does his approval rating look like now?

00:08So right now, we see that his approval hasn't changed much since we last took a poll of his

00:14approval rating in June. Right now, it's at 46 percent approved, 47 percent disapproved.

00:21So that is just a minus one. He is slightly underwater there. I think we see that the

00:28folks who like Trump are sticking with Trump and the folks who dislike Trump are going to continue

00:33to dislike Trump and disapprove of his presidency. That's really interesting. Let's talk about those

00:39demos just a little bit. Where is he seeing his strongest support and where is he seeing his

00:45biggest disapproval? Yeah, so he continues to see his strongest support, obviously among Republicans,

00:52but it's strongest among men, 53 percent approve, white voters, 52 percent, and then folks who are

00:59over the age of 70, 53 percent. So, you know, those are certainly some of the core demographics that I

01:06think we tend to think of when we talk about MAGA or Trump generally, and that's definitely shown here.

01:15And it hasn't really had much movement, this approval rating, in the past couple of months.

01:20So what does that trajectory, or really lack thereof, indicate to you, if anything?

01:27You know, it's interesting. We have seen a trend of rising disapproval, 47 percent right now.

01:35But, you know, otherwise we see widespread disapproval of his policies. We can talk about that in a minute.

01:43But for the man himself, he still is remaining with his head just above water, so to speak.

01:52You know, it's a really interesting trend. I don't know whether that disapproval number will go up.

01:57I think it might have settled here at 47 percent. And frankly, I'd be surprised to see it move

02:03significantly. It's really interesting that people are able to separate the politician from the policies.

02:10And I do want to talk about some of those policies right now. Which ones do voters think he's doing

02:15a good job at? And where do they think that he could have some room for improvement? Where do they

02:20think he could do better when it comes to his policies? Yeah. And I think if we take a step back

02:25and we look at all of these policies in total, none of them have overall approval. So right now,

02:33his highest is immigration with 45 percent approved, 46 percent disapproved. Everything

02:38else is underwater. His highest disapproval is on the economy. So 51 percent disapproved, 41 percent

02:45approved. His net approval is worse with tariff policy, 50 percent disapproved, 36 percent approved.

02:55This is where Republicans actually start to step away and step back from President Trump.

03:01He has 69 percent approval on tariff policy among Republicans versus 81 percent for immigration.

03:10Deportations. This is interesting. 48 percent disapproved, 43 percent approved. There's clearly

03:17a disconnect with immigration there. There's a lot going on here. But I think the overall broad

03:23picture is that Trump himself is popular, but his policies are unpopular with the electorate.
