00:05A bribery scandal involving President Donald Trump's border czar, Tom Homan, has sparked a lawsuit

00:26MSNBC claims agents caught the exchange on video, while the New York Times reported officials

00:36Democracy Forward, a legal services organization, filed the lawsuit to compel compliance from
00:42the FBI and the DOJ to release the recording of Homan allegedly accepting $50,000 from undercover
00:48FBI agents in September 2024.
00:51Numerous members of the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate have asked for the production
00:58of the recording of Mr. Homan's acceptance of this cash payment and further investigation
01:03of the ethical concerns raised by the administration's closure of the consequent investigation.
01:08The lawsuit notes,
01:10FBI Director Cash Patel and Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche stated the case was
01:16subjected to a full review by FBI agents and Justice Department prosecutors, who found
01:22no credible evidence of any criminal wrongdoing, according to a joint statement.
01:27President and CEO of Democracy Forward, Sky Perryman criticized the lack of transparency,
01:33warning it could erode public trust.
