00:00J.D. Vance interrupted by George Stephanopoulos as ABC cuts to commercial break during tense
00:06interview with vice president. George Stephanopoulos cut to a commercial break after his
00:11interview with vice president J.D. Vance turned hostile on ABC's This Week show on Sunday,
00:17October 12. The clash occurred when Stephanopoulos pressed Vance about President Donald Trump's
00:23border czar Tom Homan, who allegedly accepted $50,000 in cash from undercover FBI agents
00:29posing as businessmen seeking government contracts. Homan had previously denied these accusations
00:35reported by the New York Times. Vance immediately grew frustrated, accusing the ABC anchor of asking
00:41a politically motivated question. And here's George, why fewer and fewer people watch your program and
00:48why you're losing credibility, Vance claimed. The vice president criticized Democrats for the
00:53government shutdown, stating, Meanwhile, low-income women can't get food because the Democrats and
00:58Chuck Schumer have shut down the government. Vance told Stephanopoulos to focus on the real issues
01:03rather than a bogus story, adding, I think the American people would benefit much more from that
01:08than from you going down some weird left-wing rabbit hole. Stephanopoulos defended his questioning,
01:14I didn't insinuate anything. I asked you whether Tom Homan accepted $50,000, as was heard on an audio
01:20tape recorded by the FBI in September 2024, and you did not answer the question. When Vance attempted to
01:27respond, Stephanopoulos abruptly ended the interview with, Thank you for your time this morning,
01:32and cut to a commercial. After the interview, Vance criticized Stephanopoulos on social media,
01:37saying he ignored important issues like peace in the Middle East and China threatening critical
01:41supply chains to focus on a fake scandal.
