A woman who was paralyzed from the chest down had an incredible moment when a fish pedicure caused her foot to twitch once again. Kacia Julius, 32, became paralyzed after she broke her back in a car accident on November 9, 2024. The year that followed has been "grueling and traumatic in every way," Kacia said. The 32-year-old was diagnosed with a complete ASIA A T5 level spinal cord injury, paraplegia, and despite this scary diagnosis Kacia came to an inspiring conclusion. Kacia changed her mindset to realize how lucky she is to be alive, given that the vehicle she was a passenger in slipped on ice, hit a rock and flipped. Kacia also said she realized she would rather put all her efforts into trying to walk again – even if it took her entire life – than to not try at all. To hold herself accountable, she started a social media channel, documenting her recovery, so that, if successful, she could show the world just how tough her journey has been. And then, on September 20, while on a road trip between her two homes in Texas and Washington State, Kacia and her partner, Falak, made a stop-off in Las Vegas, where their hotel had a fish pedicure service. Kacia decided to give it a try, and in a strange coincidence, the favorite song of her late father, who had passed away eight years ago on that very day, started to play. As the fish kissed certain points on Kacia's foot, she began to see the smallest of twitches.
