00:00:57And they've had a long time to talk about all the things they did wrong against the Portland Trail Blazers.
00:01:01And the biggest thing is they just got killed in the middle of the paint.
00:01:0666-30 is not going to cut it, especially against the Memphis Grizzlies.
00:01:11You know we've said over and over, John Morant is going to try to get to the middle of the paint.
00:01:15That opens up a lot of things for the Memphis Grizzlies offense.
00:01:18That's lobs for the bigs, offensive rebounds when he misses a floater or when he makes it,
00:01:22because those are also layoffs for him, or wide-open threes.
00:01:26And you don't want these young guys to start getting threes from the outside early in the game,
00:01:30because then it's really going to be a long night defensively for the Warriors.

00:02:09I mean, so much of this league is how do you respond to your losses, how do you respond to adversity.
00:02:14After a game you just didn't play the way you'd like to, come back and have a game you feel better about.
00:02:19Even if it's not a win, play as well as you can, feel better about yourself.
00:02:23Both teams tonight have two tandems, tandem guys that you really watch.
00:02:27And so for the Warriors, when Steph Curry and Jimmy Butler are rolling, the teamwork and action,
00:02:33they can carry a team.
00:02:35And I'd say early in the year, A-plus for Steph, A-plus for Jimmy.
00:02:38What a start Steph Curry is off to.
00:02:41And so much of this season already in these first few games has been about,
00:02:46okay, how do you use Steph well?
00:02:47How do you react to his double teams?
00:02:49How does he keep himself in the game and stay aggressive
00:02:52and have his Steph-sized impact driving by slower defenders, give-and-goes, relocates?
00:02:56Now, it's small prints, but 11 free throws a game for Jimmy?

00:03:02That's what he does, man.
00:03:03The dude draws fouls better than anybody in the league, probably.
00:03:06And he's at peace with his game right now, and he understands, especially when Steph is out,
00:03:11he has to regulate.
00:03:12But he's not going to change who he is.
00:03:13He is so unselfish.
00:03:14A lot of times he's driving to pass.
00:03:16He's doing a great job of having that balance and figuring out, okay,
00:03:18when do I need to look at the basket more?
00:03:20You like the balance to his game.
00:03:22When you look at Memphis, they come in 2-1, Warriors 2-1.
00:03:24But it really is about their stars playing, because Ja Morant and Jaron Jackson,
00:03:30the productivity is unquestioned.
00:03:32But they've missed so many games the last couple of years.
00:03:36Well, they're playing at night, and so they have the Warriors' respect.
00:03:39They're formidable as long as these two guys are suiting up.
00:03:41Ja Morant is as explosive as ever.
00:03:43He makes them go.
00:03:44He's going to get penetration.
00:03:46I'd probably try to gap him a little bit, even though his three-ball isn't broke.
00:03:49And Jaron Jackson, for the Grizzlies to get to where they want to go,
00:03:54he has to be more dominant, more consistently dominant.
00:03:57He's been really good.
00:03:59Rebounding's been great.
00:03:59And then stay out of foul trouble, too, is one of his big concerns.
00:04:02If the Warriors can kind of take it to him,
00:04:04see if they can get him in foul trouble early, that can help them out.
00:04:07We're going to be talking about the big tandems for both teams.
00:04:10But the X factor for the Warriors is what a nice beginning for Jonathan Kaminga.
00:04:15We've seen the passing best ever in his career.
00:04:18We've seen the rebounding.
00:04:20And then, oh, by the way, he high-rises like few other players in the entire league.

00:05:24Well, this is the perfect game for a bounce back because we saw what happened in Portland.
00:05:29And we were thinking the same way in the open, just talking about how similar this Grizzlies team is to that Portland Trailblazers team.

00:05:40The Grizzlies were.
00:05:41So, they want to run and get up and down.
00:05:42So, you've had the two days off.
00:05:44What can you do against this team?

00:05:50You're not going to stop penetration.
00:05:52Just contain and be ready to scramble.

00:05:56So, you give your help time.
00:05:58Then make sure you defensive rebound because they were one of the best offensive rebounding teams in the league last season.
00:06:02Then you can get out and run and know where the shot blockers are on this team because even without Zach Eadie, they've been one of the best shot-blocking teams in the league like they were last year.
