00:11Liz and Derek had this really interesting dynamic
00:14in that she sometimes seems very tough on him.
00:17And she is tough on this exterior.
00:19But what you really see is this kind, sweet, tender
00:24little girl underneath that.
00:26And Derek sees that.
00:28And I think that she knows Derek's important to her
00:33because he sees that.
00:36And he doesn't need to be reassured on a daily basis,
00:40which she couldn't deal with.
00:41They're very important to each other.
00:43But you saw that she needed Derek and you saw the line.
00:48I had just this miraculous kind of breakthrough
00:51that I thought, oh, this is like a blessing in disguise
00:54for Liz because we've shown her that she's not happy.
00:58She doesn't have her kids.
00:59She doesn't have a purpose.
01:00She's trying to just keep being good for her that she keeps striving.
01:05But I think in that moment, she realizes, oh, the person is right in front of me.
01:11My best friend, the person I laugh with, the person I have great sex with.
01:15They have such a lovely relationship.
01:17So it was, in a way, kind of lovely and beautiful to be able to play that with Ted and
