00:00We'll have the next question from the mic of the sisters on the right-hand sides.
00:06So the sister at the mic, you may go ahead with your question.
00:10Good evening to everybody. This is Prashanti Dasri.
00:15I'm from India and I'm actually a born Christian.
00:19And I migrated to Dubai recently, August 2011.
00:24And I happened to, you know, I came to know about Islam.
00:28And my brother also here is in Dubai and he keeps telling us about Allah.
00:34I'm really convinced and, you know, with all the whatever knowledge that he shared with me,
00:41I'm totally convinced that, you know, Islam is the straightforward religion.
00:50And Allah is Alpha, His Omega, His the beginning and His last.
00:55We cannot see sun more than 10 minutes.
00:58So how can we see a creator?
01:00So I'm totally convinced.
01:02But there are some questions, you know, that we have doubts.
01:07Because since I'm a born Christian, I have four questions, total four questions to Brother Zakir Nayak.
01:14The first question is, Brother, I've been listening to your videos, you know, in YouTube, that you were talking about the Holy Spirit.
01:24And you specifically mentioned that Holy Spirit exists.
01:29So I just wanted to know, is Holy Spirit there in Islam, according to Quran?
01:38And also there is a verse in Old Testament Bible that the Spirit of God is hovering over the waters.
01:47Spirit of God.
01:49So, is Holy Spirit separate from Allah?
01:54This is my question.
01:55Sisters, I ask two questions.
01:58Question number one is that there is Holy Spirit.
02:02What is the meaning and who is this Holy Spirit as per the Quran, as per Islam, as compared to Christianity?
02:10And the Bible does say that the Spirit of God hovers above the water.
02:15What does it mean?
02:16Is the Holy Spirit separate than God?
02:19Sister, you've asked two questions.
02:20If I answer these two questions, will you accept Islam?
02:25I have totally four questions.
02:28So, I'm...
02:29Okay, so you want me to answer the first two, and then you'll ask the next two questions.
02:33No, no, yeah, absolutely.
02:34I'm 70% convinced, you know, whatever knowledge that my brother shared with me, and I've been watching your videos, I'm 70% convinced.
02:43I'm being very honest and very transparent.
02:46So, inshallah, if the four questions answered...
02:49Yes.
02:49If you're convinced, 100% will accept Islam.
02:51Inshallah, I will accept Islam.
02:54That's correct.
02:58That's correct.
02:58The sister asked two questions, and after she asked the other two questions, that the Bible does mention about Holy Spirit.
03:06What is the reference of Holy Spirit in the Quran?
03:10What the definition of Holy Spirit, it is not the same as mentioned in Islam,
03:15because when the Christians, when they talk about the Holy Spirit, they assume it is part of the Trinity, the triune God,
03:27though the word Trinity doesn't exist in the Bible, nowhere.
03:30The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
03:34When they say Father, they think about Almighty God, like a Santa Claus sitting in the heavens, with the earth at the footstool.
03:41When they talk about the Son, they think about Jesus Christ, peace be upon him, like Geoffrey Hunter, in the movie King of Kings, with blue eyes, and good nose, not a polyp nose like a Jew.
03:52When they talk about the Holy Spirit, they think about the Dove that came in Pentecost, or when Jesus Christ was being baptized.
04:01What is the Spirit that is measured in the Quran?
04:04What I believe is Quran talks about Archangel Gabriel.
04:09You are one of the angels, sent by Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, and one of his roles was to get the revelation to Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam.
04:17And many other roles he has got.
04:21So we believe in the Archangel.
04:23So like that, if you say that there is a Spirit, we have no problem.
04:27But he is not part of the triune God.
04:29And both are separate.
04:31The angel, the Archangel Gabriel is separate than Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala,
04:35and the Spirit even mentioned in the Bible is separate than Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
04:39They aren't joined.
04:40This is the teaching of the Church.
04:42Because the word Trinity doesn't exist anywhere in the Bible.
04:45But if you read the Quran, the Trinity is mentioned twice in the Quran.
04:50In Surah Nisa, chapter number 4, verse number 171, where it says,
04:54ولا تقولو سلاسا, don't say Trinity.
04:56انتو خیر اللکم.
04:58This is stopped, it's better for you.
05:00So Quran says, ولا تقولو سلاسا, don't say Trinity.
05:03And the same message is repeated in Surah Maidah, chapter number 5, verse number 73.
05:08It says, لَقَتْ كَفْرَ الْرَزِينَ قَالُوا
05:11They are doing kufr.
05:13Those who say that God is three in one.
05:16So the word Trinity appears in the Quran twice.
05:20And both the places it says, it is wrong to use the word Trinity.
05:24And in the Quran, it is mentioned that don't say Trinity.
05:28But the word Trinity doesn't exist in the Bible.
05:30The closest verse to Trinity in the Bible is the first epistle of John, chapter number 5, verse number 7, which says,
05:37For there are three that bear a cord in heaven.
05:39The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
05:42And these three are one.
05:44So this verse, if you read the revised time version of the Bible,
05:48revised by Thaidu scholars of the highest eminence, Christian scholars,
05:52they say that this verse of first epistle of John, chapter number 5, verse number 7,
05:57is interpolation, is a fabrication, is a concoction.
06:01And they have thrown this verse out of the Bible.
06:03So the verse in the Bible that was not talking directly about Trinity,
06:07but the closest to Trinity, is thrown out by the scholars of Christianity
06:10as a fabrication, as a concoction.
06:13So, but naturally the Spirit and Almighty God,
06:17they are two different entities.
06:18They are not the same.
06:20And in the Quran, it talks about Archangel Gabriel.
06:23He is the angel of Allah, subhanahu wa ta'ala.
06:25Hope that answers the question, sister.
06:27Yes, brother.
06:29I would like to know your other two questions.
06:31Yeah, my third question is, which is related to Holy Spirit only.
06:36All the prophets, all the man of God, like Prophet Abraham,
06:41Prophet Isaac, and Prophet Moses, peace be upon them.
06:45All the prophets, they used to intercede with Allah.
06:49They used to interact with Allah.
06:50So, to interact with Allah, because they are all the chosen ones,
06:55they must be gifted by some strength.
06:58It might be the grace of God.
07:00So, it is a power.
07:01There is that some power,
07:03so that they are able to interact with Allah.
07:06So, what is that power?
07:07So, what is my understanding?
07:11I mean, what was my understanding all these days was,
07:15with the help of Holy Spirit, all the prophets were interceding with Allah.
07:20Is that true?
07:23Sister has a question that the messengers of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala intercede with Almighty God.
07:29Then she said interaction with Almighty God.
07:31Sister, the English word intercede,
07:33and interaction are two different things.
07:36So, is there a question, intercede or interaction?
07:38Intercede.
07:39Intercede means that someone intercedes on somebody else's behalf.
07:46Someone intercedes on somebody else's behalf.
07:50Now, this you have to realize that when you speak to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala,
07:55Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala does not need anyone to intercede.
07:58The Quran says in Surah Ghafir, chapter number 40, verse number 60,
08:03you ask me and I will answer a prayer.
08:06Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala does not require anyone to intercede with Him.
08:11Why?
08:12And people give the example that, you know, when you go in a court of law,
08:17when you're presenting your case to the judge, you hire lawyers.
08:21So, like that, the messengers of God are our lawyers.
08:25This is okay and logical for a judge who is a human being.
08:30Because the judge does not know who is the criminal, who is the robber.
08:34So, the lawyer helps the judge to understand who is a criminal, who is a robber, who is not.
08:41But Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala hasilme gheib.
08:43He does not require anyone to prove to Him who is good, who is bad.
08:51So, it is wrong to say intercede.
08:53Yes, someone can pray.
08:56A messenger can pray for other human beings.
09:00And Allah says in the Quran that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala does not require any intercession
09:05except who He wills on the Day of Judgment.
09:08So, on the Day of Judgment, Allah says He will give permission to certain people to intercede.
09:17And this, there are hadiths saying that this special favor will be given to Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him.
09:24So, what we know from the history of all the other scriptures, as well as the Quran, as well as the hadith,
09:29that the messengers of God, they interacted with Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
09:34They prayed for others.
09:37But, if we use the Prophet to intercede,
09:42that means if I pray that if I go through this Prophet,
09:46following the commandments of Prophet is good.
09:48But, if I pray to somebody else besides Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala,
09:53that's what many of the human beings do.
09:56They pray to human beings saying they are closer to Almighty God.
10:00So, if we pray through Him,
10:02God will accept our prayer faster and better.
10:05This is wrong.
10:07We have to pray to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala directly.
10:09These Prophets of God,
10:11they are messengers.
10:12Yes, they have special powers.
10:14They have special powers.
10:15They can speak to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
10:19And Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
10:20chooses certain men,
10:23amongst men,
10:25chooses certain men
10:26to communicate His message to the other human beings.
10:30These chosen people of Almighty God,
10:33we call as Prophets
10:34or we call as messengers of God.
10:36So, Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
10:38selects certain human beings
10:40in the world
10:42to communicate His message to the other human beings.
10:45These are called as messengers of God.
10:47So, there is communication
10:48between the messenger and Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
10:50But that does not mean
10:52that human beings can
10:53use these messengers to intercede.
10:56That if they pray to these messengers,
10:58Almighty God
10:59will listen to us.
11:01This is the teaching of the church.
11:03That you believe in Jesus
11:04this case, peace be upon him
11:05and all your sins will be forgiven.
11:08This concept doesn't exist in Islam
11:09and doesn't exist even in true Christianity.
11:12It is the teaching of the church, sister.
11:14Hope that answers the question.
11:15Yeah, my final question is
11:19in New Testament,
11:23I mean, in one book,
11:24Book of Acts,
11:26Paul mentioned about tongues.
11:29What do you say about tongues
11:30in New Testament?
11:32I mean, according to Islam,
11:34is that it's totally eliminated,
11:36it's not there
11:37or the gift of tongues
11:39existed at that time?
11:41Sister asked the question
11:43that Paul said about tongues.
11:45If you give me the reference,
11:47I'll be in a better position.
11:48There are many things mentioned
11:49in the Bible about tongues.
11:51There are many verses
11:52in the Quran
11:52which speaks about tongues.
11:54If you give me the reference
11:55what you're talking about,
11:56I'll be in a better position
11:57to reply to you.
11:58But generally,
12:00there are many statements
12:01in the Bible
12:02talking about tongues
12:03and also says
12:05if you read the gospel,
12:08if you read the gospel of Mark,
12:09it says that anyone
12:11who is a believer,
12:13he will be able
12:14to understand foreign tongues
12:16and speak foreign tongues.
12:19That means
12:19if you are a believer in God,
12:22then you can understand
12:23foreign languages
12:24and you can speak
12:25foreign languages.
12:26So that's what I did
12:27when I had a debate
12:28with Dr. William Campbell.
12:29I gave him a 100 rupee note
12:31and the Indian 100 rupee note,
12:33as you may be aware,
12:35since we have got
12:3522 official languages,
12:38I read in English
12:39100 rupees.
12:40Hindi says 100 rupiah.
12:42I asked him to read
12:43the other 20 languages
12:44if he's a believer
12:45and he could not.
12:50There are many references
12:52in the Quran
12:52talking about tongues.
12:54If you read the Quran,
12:56the Quran says
12:57in Surah Ruhm,
12:58chapter number 30,
12:59verse number 22,
13:00that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
13:01has created the human beings
13:03in different colors
13:05and tongues
13:05so that you should
13:07recognize each other
13:08so that the men
13:10of understanding
13:11will understand.
13:12Furthermore,
13:13the Quran says
13:13that on the day of judgment,
13:16your tongues,
13:17your organs,
13:18your hands,
13:19they will be witness for you
13:21what you did right,
13:23what you did wrong.
13:24There are various hadith
13:25of the Prophet
13:25talking about the tongue.
13:27So there are many references
13:28in the Quran
13:29talking about the tongue.
13:30There are many references
13:31in the Bible
13:32that talk about tongue
13:34and how to test a believer.
13:37Hope that answers
13:38the question, sister.
13:39And my final question.
13:42Okay,
13:43I have a Muslim friend
13:45and he suggested me
13:46to read Bible Old Testament.
13:50He specifically mentioned
13:51to follow,
13:52go through the Old Testament
13:53in Bible
13:54and then he said
13:55read Quran.
13:56But as you mentioned
13:58specifically,
13:59you know,
14:00that Quran
14:01is the final revelation
14:03given by Allah.
14:06So,
14:06as a Muslim,
14:07what do you suggest to me?
14:09Because my friend
14:10being a Muslim,
14:11he said,
14:12follow Bible Old Testament
14:13and then read Quran.
14:15So.
14:15Sister,
14:15the question
14:16that one of her friends
14:17told her
14:17that first read
14:18the Old Testament
14:19then read the Quran.
14:21Sister,
14:21it's not the must.
14:22If there is something
14:23like the Old Testament
14:24and the New Testament,
14:25then there's something
14:26like the Last Testament
14:27and the Quran.
14:27So,
14:30when the Christians
14:30say Old and New Testament,
14:32this is the last
14:33and final test
14:34of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
14:36Now,
14:36I'm asking you
14:37the question,
14:38suppose you have
14:39different versions
14:40and editions
14:41of a book.
14:41For example,
14:42you have gone
14:43to a medical college.
14:44Other than a medical college,
14:45you know,
14:46Prophet Keith Moore
14:47wrote some books
14:47and his book
14:49had first edition,
14:50second edition,
14:51third edition.
14:51So,
14:52would you read
14:52the first edition
14:53or the latest edition?
14:55Of course.
14:56I'll go for the latest.
14:57That's correct.
14:58Yes.
14:59If you really love
15:00the first edition,
15:01you know,
15:01I'm a fan
15:02of the first edition,
15:03then I say,
15:03no problem,
15:04read the first edition,
15:05then read the last edition.
15:07So,
15:07if you are so much
15:07hooked on
15:08to the Old Testament
15:10and you know,
15:11your Old Testament
15:12is close to your heart,
15:13then the Quran says
15:14in Suleyumran
15:14chapter 3 verse 64,
15:15come to common terms
15:19has been us and you.
15:20Then I would say
15:21that if you are so much
15:22hooked on to the Old Testament,
15:23no problem,
15:24read the Old Testament,
15:25then read the Quran,
15:26at least agree
15:27what is common.
15:29And when we read
15:30the Old Testament,
15:30New Testament
15:31and the Quran,
15:32we come to know
15:33that the thing
15:34that is common
15:34in these scriptures
15:35is that there is one God
15:37and He deserves
15:39to be worshipped.
15:40He has got no image.
15:42He is not begotten.
15:43It further says
15:44that Jesus
15:45cast peace be upon
15:45is not God.
15:47And both the scriptures
15:48say that the last
15:50and final messenger
15:50prophet Muhammad
15:51peace be upon him.
15:54So,
15:55sister,
15:56now are you prepared
15:56to accept Islam?
15:58Of course,
15:59yes.
16:05Sister,
16:06do you believe
16:06that there is one God?
16:08Yes,
16:09I believe there is
16:09only one God.
16:10Do you believe
16:11that Jesus is not God
16:12but is a messenger of God?
16:14Yes,
16:14I believe Jesus
16:15is a messenger.
16:16Do you believe
16:17prophet Muhammad
16:17is the last
16:18and final messenger?
16:19Yes,
16:20I believe
16:20prophet Muhammad
16:21is the last
16:22and the final messenger.
16:26Sister,
16:26is there anyone
16:27forcing you
16:28to accept Islam?
16:29Sorry?
16:30Is there anyone
16:31forcing you
16:31to accept Islam?
16:32No,
16:32nobody is forcing you.
16:34Are you accepting
16:35out of your free will?
16:36Yes.
16:37Because in Islam,
16:38to force anyone
16:39to accept Islam
16:40is haram.
16:41It's haram
16:42in the religion
16:43and it's haram
16:45it's prohibited
16:45in most of the countries
16:46I believe,
16:47even in Dubai.
16:47To force anyone
16:49to accept a religion
16:50is forbidden.
16:51So,
16:51you're accepting
16:52out of your free will,
16:52sister.
16:53Yes,
16:54that's the reason
16:54I asked you many questions.
16:56MashaAllah.
16:56Out of free will.
16:58Hope,
16:59I hope no one
17:00is bribing you.
17:02No.
17:02Because in India,
17:04when after many people
17:05accept Islam,
17:07the CID,
17:08the police go there
17:08and ask them,
17:09how much dollars
17:09Dr. Zakir and I give you?
17:14I tell them,
17:14I have given them
17:15currency of the Akhira.
17:18Currency of the Akhira
17:19and that's accepted.
17:20So,
17:20inshallah,
17:21sister,
17:21I will say in Arabic
17:22and you can repeat it.
17:24Okay.
17:25Asshadu.
17:27Asshadu.
17:27Allah.
17:28Allah.
17:29Ilaha.
17:30Ilaha.
17:30Ilallah.
17:31Wa Asshadu.
17:33Wa Asshadu.
17:34Anna.
17:35Anna.
17:36Mohammadan.
17:37Mohammadan.
17:38Abduhu.
17:39Abduhu.
17:40Wa Rasuluhu.
17:41Wa Rasuluhu.
17:42I bear witness.
17:44I bear witness.
17:47That.
17:47That.
17:48There is no God.
17:50That there is no God.
17:52But Allah.
17:53But Allah.
17:54And I bear witness.
17:56And I bear witness.
17:58That.
17:58That.
17:59Prophet Muhammad.
18:00Prophet Muhammad.
18:01Is the messenger.
18:03Is the messenger.
18:04And servant of Allah.
18:05And servant of Allah.
18:07Mashallah, sister, you are a Muslim.
18:09And may Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala accept your effort.
