Sydney Sweeney guesses iconic lines from her hit projects—including Euphoria, Anyone But You, and Everything Sucks!—and shares what she was really like in high school.
00:44because I have to as like a performer of her,
00:46but she definitely has very morally questionable choices.
00:52Yeah, maybe grandpa was a power bottom.
00:53Does that make you feel better?
00:55This is Olivia from White Lotus.
00:57Maybe grandpa was a power bottom.
00:59Does that make you feel better?
01:00Okay, I'm gonna tell a little terrible secret.
01:04I haven't seen the next seasons of White Lotus.
01:08I have a thing where I just,
01:10I don't watch stuff that often.
01:13Like I was a huge fan of Handmaid's Tale,
01:15like biggest fan, my mom and I binged it.
01:17And then the moment I was on it, I haven't seen it since.
01:19And I don't know why.
01:21I do remember this line because it was just
01:24one of the funniest lines I'd ever read in a script before.
01:27Being on set of White Lotus is,
01:31and it was such a treat.
01:32Like we were filming in a beautiful, beautiful area.
01:34We were in Hawaii, on Maui, at the Four Seasons,
01:37had the whole place to ourselves.
01:39I felt like I was in a tropical version
01:40of a very fancy, luxurious camp.
01:42Made like lifelong friends on that set.
01:46All right.
01:48No, seriously, get your hands off my man.
01:50This isn't even a movie.
01:51This is an iconic song.
01:54Miss Possessive.
01:56No, seriously, get your hands off my man.
02:00This was probably one of the coolest things.
02:02Glenn texted me in a group chat with Tate
02:05and was like, I got to connect you two.
02:07Tate wants to meet.
02:08And then I talked to her and she was like,
02:10would you be down to do this?
02:12I was like, Holly, I'm the biggest fan.
02:14Like you're absolutely iconic and I love you.
02:16So this was a pretty, pretty cool moment for me.
02:19I was filming Housemaid at the time
02:22and I was in my trailer
02:23and I was just doing a bunch of recordings
02:25and I would text him to Tate
02:26and then she'd give me notes and I'd send her more.
02:29I didn't really know where they'd place it.
02:31And I was like, oh gosh, oh geez.
02:34It was so cool though.
02:35All right.
02:37My apple pie's here.
02:39I need the pies here.
02:39Yeah, I'm wrong.
02:40My apple pie.
02:43All right.
02:44Wait, you're the paramedic, you saved my stepmother
02:46when then you were super awkward about it.
02:51Wait, you're the paramedic, you saved my stepmother.
02:55Then you were super, okay, who had a stepmother?
03:00There's someone literally leaving a cart in the back.
03:02I have a cart of apple pie and ice cream
03:04being delivered right now.
03:06Um.
03:09Literally it's being delivered right now.
03:11Okay, wait, wait, wait, wait.
03:12Madam Web.
03:13Wait, you're the paramedic.
03:17You saved my stepmother.
03:18Then you were super awkward about it.
03:20I had a good time.
03:21I thought it was really funny.
03:22The experience and the relationships that I built
03:26with everybody at Sony on Madam Web definitely correlated
03:29over into anyone but you.
03:30And now I have a really great working relationship there.
03:33Your appearance tells the world who you are
03:36and what you want.
03:37Speaking for myself, the goal is boners.
03:39I was nothing like Emmeline in high school.
03:40Emmeline has way more confidence and she was outgoing and she's a theater kid.
03:46I was very quiet and just focused on school.
03:51Yeah, I was a rule follower for sure.
03:52Emmeline was one of the first two years in the first three years in the first three years.
03:56Emmeline was one of the first characters that I think will forever be in my heart.
04:13It was the first time I'd ever had like a big role on anything.
04:18I got to film it in Oregon, so I was really close to where I grew up.
04:22So on the weekends I would drive home and see my family and it was just me and my dog Tank
04:28and it was just, it was so great.
04:31I loved it.
04:33Titanic Me.
04:34Anyone but you.
04:35Titanic Me.
04:36Glenn and I kind of like created that moment in the moment.
04:40It was really funny.
04:41I'm obsessed with Titanic and Will, our director also, is just really good at embracing everything
04:48that Glenn and I would want to bring into the script and like letting us play around with the lines.
04:53And we just felt so free and fun and this was a really fun moment.
04:58When I'm involved as a producer on projects, I think that for me at least, the environment just, I feel more immersed in it.
05:07I know everybody.
05:08I have a deeper like connection relationship to people and I just want to make sure everybody's having a really good time.
05:15Like I try to create activities for everybody and I love when people feel like a family when they're working together.
05:22I didn't have a desk yet, so I took it with me and passed through security and went to Starbucks.
05:27What?
05:28I didn't have a desk yet, so I took it with me and passed through security and went to Starbucks.
05:34Who?
05:37I don't remember this at all.
05:39Are you sure I said this?
05:41Who said this?
05:43Oh, reality!
05:45I think that my brain doesn't remember a single thing that I said.
05:59That movie was so intense because it was the actual transcript from the interrogation and so we had everything precisely the same.
06:08We did the whole movie in 16 days and we were filming like 10-15 pages of just pure dialogue every single day.
06:16Like trying to narrow down the different projects.
06:18He won't touch me, I'm ugly.
06:19What?
06:22He won't touch me, I'm ugly.
06:25Who said this?
06:32I kind of remember how I said it.
06:35I just don't remember who said it.
06:38He won't touch me, I'm ugly.
06:40Oh!
06:41Oh!
06:42Handmaid's Tale!
06:43He won't touch me, I'm ugly.
06:45On set of Handmaid's Tale, it was like they were playing Taylor Swift all the time.
06:49We were singing, dancing.
06:50It was such a good vibe.
06:52And I remember being like, oh, this is how sets should be.
06:56Like this is just so much fun.
06:58Everybody's friends.
06:59The crew's incredible.
07:00It was a really good environment.
07:02Eden was such a beautiful, tragic character.
07:05She just was so unaware of the world and was raised in such a bubble so she didn't actually understand a lot of the things going on around her.
07:14My agent sent me the audition and went in and I had an audition and then a callback and another callback.
07:21And my mom would take me every single time.
07:24She'd drive me and I'd sit in the car and I'd be so nervous to go in.
07:27But I remember just having this feeling.
07:29I was like, I can just know Eden.
07:31Like I loved her on a different kind of level as an actor.
07:34And I was like, no one else could do this.
07:37Wait, so you don't even believe in God?
07:40Wait, so you don't even believe in God?
07:44Immaculate.
07:45I don't actually remember specifically this line, but God's involved so it's for sure immaculate.
07:56Wait, so you don't even believe in God?
07:58Immaculate was such a treat because it was a script that I had from when I was younger.
08:03And so being able to be a part of hiring the entire team, the director, the cast, bringing on financiers, producers, and then rewriting the script and going location scouting and being a part of budgeting, like everything.
08:16It was, I loved it.
08:18Being able to bring my grandma through and getting to show them the world and then show them what I do.
08:22It was so special.
08:23And they were in the giant chapel scene, so they saw all the beautiful nuns and the church and it was me dressed as Mother Mary.
08:31And they're like, wow, this is so beautiful.
08:33And I didn't actually tell them what happens.
08:38So my grandie watched it and she had very strong words for me as a Catholic.
08:48We are officially being creepy weirdos.
08:50Oh, goodness.
08:52We're officially being creepy.
08:56I don't remember this at all.
08:59Oh, um, uh, uh, uh, Voyeurs.
09:03Yes.
09:04We are officially being creepy weirdos.
09:06So a fun little story behind Voyeurs is the writer-director of Everything Sucks was the writer-director of Voyeurs.
09:14So I had a couple of the crew members from that project carry on over and then I brought them onto Immaculate.
09:20And it was like being able to do different projects at different stages of my life and my career.
09:25And it was always like little happy reunions.
09:28I remember when I first read it, I was not expecting the twist ending.
09:32I think Mike does such a good job at having an audience down one road and then completely spinning them on their heels and taking them down another.
09:41I thought the movie would end at one point.
09:43And then I was like, there's 20 more pages.
09:45What else is going to happen?
09:48Mommy ate daddy.
09:52What?
09:58Mommy ate daddy?
10:01What the hell?
10:04Wait a second.
10:05Okay, hold on.
10:06We're saying mommy ate daddy.
10:07It means I'm young.
10:09Right?
10:10I'm pretty young.
10:11Okay, so this is like, this is pre-18.
10:14Oh man.
10:16I have a lot of questionable choices pre-18 project-wise.
10:23Zombies of Mass Destruction?
10:25Hell yeah.
10:28Mommy ate daddy.
10:30I remember being on that set and I think I was like 10, 10 or 11.
10:34It was a local movie up in our small town and they had like open casting for it and my mom found out and I went and I auditioned.
10:44And then I was turned into a zombie.
10:47It was pretty cool.
10:48I've never seen the movie.
10:49I wasn't allowed to see it.
10:50I don't think I've ever even read the script.
10:52I don't think anyone actually needs to see the movie, but it was the first experience I had on a set and I loved it.
10:57I knew from, I think I got three, but I don't think I knew actually what it was.
11:03I just wanted to play characters.
11:04I had all these imaginary friends and these worlds and I put on little performances from my parents.
11:10And I knew that I just wanted to constantly like play different characters.
11:27I knew that I was so happy that they're so happy.
11:28But I just wanted to play an alien, but I should find that I'm missing.
11:30In order to play an alien, I decided to be able to play a game.
11:31And I was just happy to play a game because they were able to play a game.
11:32Well, it's so happy to play that game.
11:33I don't think I could play a game.
11:34There was a game.
11:35I was so happy to play that game.
11:36I loved people that I was going to play a game.
11:37I was so happy to play a game.
11:38But we were so happy to play to play with this game.
11:39I was able to play a game because it was their game.
11:40I actually威Ч
11:42was a game, but I'm really it was so happy to play a game.
11:45Why do you want to play other games on the game?
