00:00What do you make of U.S.-China relationships right now?
00:02How important is the competition?
00:04We think it's the defining conflict of this generation, possibly, the century.
00:08I think the conceit of Vannevar is that China has a vision for this century,
00:12and we're here to make sure the U.S. has more leverage in that competition.
00:18The entire conceit of Vannevar, when we sort of pivoted in 2020
00:22from counterterrorism to strategic competition,
00:25was that it's an entirely different mission
00:26that requires massive data collection behind the Chinese firewall
00:31and AI and agentic workflows working on top of that
00:35to find the exact data that warfighters need
00:37at the right time for that particular mission.
00:40Vannevar's mission statement is building the defense prime
00:43for competition with China.
00:44The headlines that we've just broken that are moving markets
00:47are about China as an economic adversary.
00:50Yes.
00:51I'd be grateful if you just sort of explained
00:53building the defense prime competition with China.
00:56What does that mean?
00:56What that means is that we think that the warfighter in particular
01:01has a big part to play in imposing cost on China.
01:06So we think the way that the Department of War has done it wrong in the past
01:10is that there was a real data gap
01:12and that they couldn't actually understand the Chinese information environment.
01:16For everything from, you know, intelligence analysis to logistics
01:20to planning, deployments, exercises, even procurement,
01:23how do you actually know that the actions that the U.S. is taking are imposing cost on China,
01:29that they're perceiving that there's a cost to their either aggressive action
01:34or even economic action, coercive action globally, information operations.
01:39We think that you have to understand that in order to use your assets,
01:42procure, deploy appropriately in order to make sure that their cost-benefit analysis
01:48of any aggressive action goes down over time.
01:51You are at the sweet spot of really the hype cycle when it comes to defense tech,
01:55but also AI and agentic AI.
01:57I'm trying to understand what data you're looking at
01:59and what you're building these agentic AI platforms upon.
02:02Yeah.
02:02Primarily what we do is we build tech stacks for decision advantage,
02:06and we are focused on China.
02:07The important thing is that those tech stacks are built on top of what we think
02:11is the premier national security-focused data set on the market.
02:16We have spent six years building this data set to include information
02:19behind the Chinese firewall.
02:21A quarter of our engineers are focused specifically on data collection.
02:25We manage a petabyte of data right now.
02:27It's increasing by 10 terabytes a week.
02:30Who's the customer there for?
02:31Sure.
02:31Who are you selling this to?
02:33We are deployed across all of the services in the Department of War.
02:37And we are deployed across all of the geographic combatant commands as well.
02:41I'm putting you on the spot, but these headlines,
02:44how severe a change of direction is this for the relationship between the U.S. and China?
02:49I think it's pretty severe.
02:50I mean, I think that there's...
02:53Going back and forth, I think that we're waking up to the fact
02:56that China has had a real, like I said, plan for this century,
03:00that they have been doing what we call a dual use,
03:03so military, economic coercion globally,
03:07and that it's had an impact on our strategic allies
03:10and that we've sort of lost a little bit of the fight there.
03:13Like Lucas academia, like a theatre in the border,
03:17aurylogical division,
03:18and a kingdom in which we claim that we use
03:21and that it has been during ESP.
03:23We haveات Himana,
03:24and that thePA,
03:26while communicating this scene across all the time,
03:28the terminal needs to avoid certain opportunities
03:32that we have moving forward on.
03:34That is why this means the letter has been processed now around,
03:36and it's just about this particular concept.
03:38Then we're headed for it.
