00:03YouTube is launching an AI-powered tool that estimates your age,

00:07not by asking your birth date, but by looking at what you watch,

00:10how long you've had your account, and other patterns in your activity.

00:13If the system thinks you're under 18, it'll automatically activate extra protections.

00:17That means no personalized ads, fewer repeat views of certain videos,

00:20and more digital well-being features.

00:22Age-restricted content will be blocked unless you're verified as an adult.

00:25And if the AI gets it wrong, you can appeal it by submitting a government ID or credit card.

00:29This update builds on YouTube kids and supervised accounts,

00:32aiming to make the platform safer for teens while respecting their privacy.

00:36And with 90% of U.S. teens on YouTube, they say this move is all about keeping their trust

00:40and making sure the platform stays a safe, age-appropriate space to explore.
