00:00But there's another thing about electric vehicles, which is just that they make the air cleaner and healthier for all of us.
00:06This is the original 2021 video submitted by Democratic candidate Katie Porter for the Biden administration.
00:13She's now running to replace term limited Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom in California.
00:18This week, a cut portion of that video was obtained by Politico.
00:22Get out of my shot.
00:25Porter, a leading Democratic contender in California's 2026 governor race, is facing scrutiny after the clip surfaced, showing her snapping at a staffer while filming for the Biden administration.
00:38The moment is trending this week, and it coincides with another tense exchange, this time on CBS News, where Porter threatened to walk off set.
00:47I don't want to keep doing this. I'm going to call it. Thank you.
00:52You're not going to do the interview with us?
00:54Nope, not like this. I'm not. Not with seven follow-ups to every single question you ask.
00:58Every other candidate has answered our follow-ups.
01:00I don't care. I don't care. I want to have a pleasant, positive conversation.
01:04These incidents are reviving questions about Porter's temper and treatment of staff, allegations she's faced before during her time in Congress and in divorce filings.
01:13Porter defends herself, saying she holds herself and her staff to high standards and has worked to be more expressive in her gratitude.
01:21She entered politics after the 2016 election, winning a House seat in 2018 and becoming the first Democrat to represent her district in 75 years.
01:31A new poll of 1,000 likely primary voters shows Porter leading among Democrats with 24.8 percent.
01:37But when campaign messaging is tested, Republican commentator Steve Hilton jumps ahead with 29 percent of the support, while Porter drops to 23 percent.
01:47Nearly a quarter of voters remain undecided.
01:50California uses a jungle primary system, where all candidates, regardless of party, run on one ballot.
01:56The top two move on to the general election.
01:59The primary is set for June 2026, with the general election on November 3rd.
