00:00Jazz Chisholm Jr. is headed back to his happy place.
00:03Aaron Boone announced that the All-Star is headed back to second base and he's going
00:07to start there Tuesday night against the Mariners.
00:10Now that he's back at second, Oswald Peraza takes over at third and DJ LeMayhew heads
00:16to the bench after he had been manning the fort at second base.
00:20He's been dealing with a sore shoulder for weeks, but Jazz actually began the season
00:24at second base and was moved to third after returning from an oblique injury last month.
00:29And everyone can see that he hasn't looked comfortable there at all.
00:33In fact, in over 238 innings at third base, he managed a 920 fielding percentage with minus
00:40three defensive runs saved and minus three defensive runs above average.
00:45On top of that, in his past four games, he's made three throwing errors, including an air
00:50mailing a throw to first base on Saturday that led to a Mets run in the Subway Series.
00:56Now, second base is where he plays his best defensive baseball, posting three defensive
01:00runs saved and three outs above average across 251 innings.
01:06Now, now that Jazz is going back to second and Peraza going to third, that has everyone
01:10questioning what this means for DJ LeMayhew long term, but the Yankees are going to cross
01:15that bridge when it's time.
01:16We'll see you next time.
