00:00Emma Miesemann how is she going to fit in the Liberty on the Liberty roster and

00:08when do you think that she's going to really like see her her first piece of action

00:12yeah so Emma Miesemann came she arrived yesterday and she underwent like all the physical tests and

00:19medical examinations which are just part of the standard operating procedure for a player that's

00:23going to get signed to a team there are some roster gymnastics to a certain degree that the

00:29Liberty are trying to figure out right now Natasha Cloud was questionable heading into last night's

00:34game and if she wasn't able to play they were going to potentially have to bring a hardship player in

00:38because they were going to be so low on players they would have been down to eight active players

00:43which you're supposed to have technically 10 active players there's obviously some wiggle room in

00:48certain situations you can get away with having nine but you know maybe this is an example of why

00:52WNBA rosters need to be expanded beyond the 11 12 that we see now but so there's some things that

00:59they have to figure out in that realm they also have to waive a player because right now they do

01:03have 12 players under contract and 12 is the max amount of players that you can have so they will

01:07be waiving a player before they can sign Emma I'm told that they want they are trying to figure out if

01:14Emma can be in Connecticut with them as soon as Friday you know but I don't know if she would

01:18necessarily be playing she just got off of a plane just yesterday she's probably jet lagged you know

01:25obviously you probably want to get a little bit of reps with the team so she has she does have a

01:29lot of familiarity with these players and with with Sandy or like other player coaches and stuff

01:35but but I think there is you know a certain level of wanting to okay let's get her in let's like

01:40integrate her but she you know she makes this team better offensively and defensively on paper at least

01:46I mean the way that she can just space the floor she's she's a reliable offensive weapon I mean she's

01:53she was a finals MVP off the bench in 2019 that which is crazy when you think about it that way

01:59um and defensively you know she can she can guard multiple positions and it just kind of fortifies

02:05that interior defense you know between her JJ Brianna Stewart when she's healthy you know they just

02:10have a lot more size and it gives them a lot of lineup optionality which is really exciting if you're

02:17Sandy Brondello especially having seen you know what some of these bench players have been able to do like

02:23an Izzy Harrison who's really grown into her role and has started to thrive you know coming off the

02:29bench and playing more of a four than a five but you know that's that's where she that is her natural

02:36position um and so you know I think Emma's a huge pickup for this team it makes a lot of sense

02:41on paper but we'll see if it all comes together once she's finally here
