00:00All right, the news just broke that Tommy DeVito was claimed off waivers by the New England Patriots.
00:05And to be honest, guys, I think this is a great look for both sides.
00:08If you're all three sides, to be honest, if you're the Giants,
00:12anytime you're forced to kind of cut a fan favorite and a homegrown fan favorite at that,
00:19you always want there to be some sort of happy ending to the end of that story.
00:23If you're Tommy DeVito, you've got a chance to go in and compete with Josh Dobbs to be Drake Mays backup.
00:30This kid has stepped in in NFL games, primetime NFL games, and has played well.
00:35So it wasn't just the preseason that earned him this roster spot.
00:40It's the fact that he's made plays in the NFL before.
00:43And if you're the Patriots, well, you've got a third quarterback that has made plays in the NFL game before.
00:49If you looked at the Patriots quarterbacks this preseason, it wasn't good quarterback play.
00:54Let's just leave it at that.
00:55But I wonder how much Brian Dable played into DeVito going to the Patriots because if you know, you know,
01:02and you know that both he and offensive coordinator for the Patriots, Josh McDaniels,
01:06have served on the same coaching staff three times before, once at Michigan State and twice with the Patriots.
01:12So you wonder if he made that call and was like, hey, come in and take my boy because Tommy DeVito has looked out for Brian Dable
01:20when he's had some terrible quarterback situations in play.
01:24So it's only right that Dable kind of looked out for him.
01:26But all in all, great ending to a story.
01:29Congrats to Tommy DeVito.
