00:00The players definitely should get the brunt of the blame, especially when the performance isn't
00:06matching up to the payroll at all, especially when we're talking about the core four of Lindor,
00:11Soto, Alonzo, and Nemo. They were forecasted to carry such a big load this year, but late in the
00:17season, runners in scoring position, the clutch moments, it's like these guys have gone cold. So
00:23what happened to these guys? Why the collapse from these guys, the fab four?
00:31Yeah. So the fab four is an interesting one because when you look at one of those players
00:35in the fab four, that's Juan Soto. What is Juan Soto doing this season? Oh, he's just casually
00:40on pace to have the best offensive season and Mets franchise history. So we can't put the blame too
00:46much on Juan. He's having a tremendous year. You look at the other three and Pete Alonzo,
00:50the Francisco indoor and Brandon Nemo. And what does all have in common? These are Mets that
00:54have been here throughout the entire tenure of Steve Cohen, his owner. They had been here through
00:58the highs and the lows over Cohen's tenure. And a commonality that we have seen with all these
01:03players has been one way or another, there's been a lack of a voice. And I don't know how much of that
01:08is to say, blame a Francisco indoor, a Pete Alonzo, who for the first time, it feels as a Met is
01:14actually rebutting to the media when asked constant questions. And usually the happy go lucky guys now
01:20saying, you know, miss me with that nonsense kind of mentality. Brandon Nemo has been very
01:25Jekyll and Hyde and his production. He has unfortunately not lived up necessarily to the
01:30contract that was bestowed upon him a couple of years ago that Steve Cohen gave after the 2022
01:34season. All this is to say is that whatever worked for the Mets last year has continued to not work
01:41this year. And maybe we lean into more on what we otherwise should have with the Francisco indoor
01:46to be the leader, the unsung captain of this team, because while he has most certainly led,
01:52he has not done the part on the road this year, which is very concerning for someone like myself,
01:57knowing that the final week of baseball for the Mets this year, which dictates if they make playoffs
02:01or not, will be in Chicago as well as in Miami. He had Alonzo up until really the past week and a half
02:07or so has not at all performed well here in the second half. There just has been a complete lack of
02:12consistency from the guys that you need to step up regardless on if you're playing in Flushing
02:18Queens at Citi Field or on the road in say DC against the Nationals.
