00:00All right, we've got a wild and major development and update in the Mark Sanchez saga.
00:05So what started as a late night altercation in Indianapolis has escalated, according to ABC News,
00:12that Sanchez is now facing a felony charge of battery involving serious bodily injury.
00:17So here's what we know so far.
00:19Initially, Sanchez was arrested on misdemeanor charges, battery with injury, unlawful entry of a motor vehicle and public intoxication.
00:29However, prosecutors say the additional felony charge was added after investigators determined the victim's injuries were more severe than originally understood.
00:41So based on the hotel video footage of the altercation early Saturday and the driver's statement to police,
00:48a police at the David alleges that Sanchez smelling of alcohol accosted the driver of a box truck that backed into a hotel's loading docks.
00:59Leading to a confrontation outside the vehicle that prompted the driver to defensively pull out a knife.
01:06Now, Sanchez was hospitalized with stab wounds to his upper right torso.
01:10The affidavit signed by a police detective said and remain hospitalized early Sunday, according to police.
01:17Now, the truck driver identified as PT had a cut to his left cheek.
01:22Now, Sanchez then posted a $300 cash bond and is due in court Tuesday and is facing one to six years in prison if he's convicted.
