00:00Jax takes to the shelves, while Bart takes to the ice.
00:03Here's a look at the Jax Pacific The Simpsons Wave 5 Hockey Bart.
00:18Inspired by the iconic animated series The Simpsons, comes toys and collectibles by Jax Pacific.
00:22Immerse yourself in Springfield with these 5-inch scale action figures of your favorite characters from the show.
00:27Each 5-inch scale action figure features over 14 points of articulation for easy pose and play.
00:33To do that penalty, Bart may be forced to sit out for the rest of this game.
00:35When it comes, though, to the action figure game, Jax is far from sitting on the sidelines.
00:39The company, in fact, has really been running rampant when it comes to the Simpsons figures.
00:43The fact that we're looking into Wave 5 already says something for how dedicated the company is to producing Simpsons figures.
00:49We're going to, speaking of figures as well, we're going to be also bringing in some other examples of Bartholomew J. Simpson.
00:54But let's look, though, to taking the tape measure first and seeing how tall this Bart J. Simpson stands, all in his hockey attire.
01:01The figure's going to stand, in fact, at 4 inches in height, working out to be a figure that's roughly 10 centimeters tall.
01:06Preferring more to be on AstroTurf than on the ice.
01:08Here's what the figure looks like with Home Run Homer.
01:11I don't think there's been really any other examples that I can think of that has been sports-related when it comes to the Simpsons.
01:15Yet, though, we have ourselves a Bart, and we have ourselves a Homer.
01:18Both have been essentially just re-releases of the original figures.
01:21Although, to be fair, though, both of these figures aren't just repaints.
01:24They had to, of course, redesign the bodies altogether.
01:27There has been, of course, several releases of Bart.
01:29How many are we looking at right now?
01:30Maybe three, maybe four?
01:31There's been the original one.
01:32There was the winking Bart that had the slingshot.
01:34There was, of course, the Bartman Bart.
01:36I think there was also a blue-shirt Bart.
01:38But considering I already have a blue-shirt Bart when it comes to him dressing up, of course, as Bartman,
01:42I didn't really feel the need to get that figure at all.
01:45Here's also what the figure looks like with, as well, Milhouse.
01:47Milhouse isn't low-ready for the ice.
01:49And here's also what the figures look like with Lisa Simpson.
01:52I should really say that all the parts of hockey Bart are brand new.
01:55He's got a different expression face from before.
01:57And for safety reasons, safety reasons, if you're going to take to the ice,
02:00you have to wear, after all, a hockey helmet.
02:02The hockey helmet is not removable.
02:04However, though, of removable things, the figure does come in clear with both a hockey puck and hockey stick.
02:08I don't know, though, while we're in that festive season of Halloween,
02:11I'm looking at this.
02:12And am I the only one that looks at this and thinks it looks like a pack of Sweet Tarts or Rockets?
02:17You know, those little wrapped-up things of candies.
02:19They're like a roll of candies, and they're different flavors.
02:21Sweet Tarts.
02:22We usually call them Rockets here.
02:24But, like, the size and, in fact, the mold, the way that it sort of is indented like this,
02:29does look like a package of Halloween Rockets.
02:32I mean, I'm sure I don't have to tell you guys.
02:34Don't be putting this in your mouth.
02:35One thing first.
02:36It's not going to have any flavor.
02:37And second of all, you're going to be choking on it.
02:39Luckily, though, the hockey puck is something you can have displayed along with Bart.
02:43If you pick, though, the figure up and you try to put this in his hands,
02:46it doesn't really seem like his hands are big enough to hold the hockey puck.
02:49I mean, both his hands are really only suitable for holding the stick.
02:52I suppose you could kind of stretch the plastic for the hand until finally it fits,
02:56but I would rather just have the hockey puck, you know, in front of him, obviously,
02:59when he's got the hockey stick.
03:00Speaking of hockey stick, though, were we just talking about the hockey stick?
03:04And just to hear it stand for a second.
03:06Yeah, Bart does also come in with a hockey stick.
03:08This brings back such bad memories.
03:11I remember going to a friend's house, and it was just his birthday.
03:13And for his birthday, because his birthday was right around wintertime,
03:15he got himself a brand new hockey stick.
03:17And sure enough, this guy comes over and wants to play road hockey,
03:21which I didn't really need a hockey helmet for that.
03:22I probably, you know, in hindsight nowadays, you really do have to have one.
03:25But I got to use his brand new hockey stick.
03:28And what did this guy end up doing?
03:29I slap-shotted it.
03:31And I did it so far up.
03:32I mean, obviously, when you do it,
03:33you're supposed to really keep it down to the ground and flick it this way.
03:36But I swung high, and I swung hard.
03:38And I went like this, and it broke the hockey stick end completely off.
03:43I felt horrible for that after that.
03:45So Phil, Phil, if you're watching these videos,
03:47I'm so sorry, sir, for breaking your hockey stick when you were a kid.
03:49You can see, though, that it does have taping.
03:51Unfortunately, though, it doesn't have any coloring on it.
03:53It's all really molded here in brown plastic.
03:56Unlike, though, the puck is going to have a harder time to do it.
03:58You can easily, though, get the hockey stick in his hand.
04:01You just, though, want to make sure that you've got the elbow bent the right way.
04:04Where's the bend? Where's the bend?
04:05There's the bend right there.
04:06All right.
04:07Get the hockey stick into his hand.
04:09Now, you can really have him holding it with both his hands.
04:11But just for the sake of this, I'm going to show you guys.
04:13If you want to have it displayed that way, you can certainly do it that way, too.
04:15But if you want to have it crisscross and applesauce in it,
04:18you easily can just get the hockey stick on both his hands.
04:22Just like that.
04:22Just like that.
04:24This would certainly be so much easier, yeah, if I didn't have the moisturizer already on my hands.
04:27I prepped so early.
04:29You can have him easily holding the hockey stick this way as well.
04:32I mean, that looks like Bart's ready for a fight.
04:34Maybe it's a good idea that we put him to the bench right away.
04:36Taking, though, the stick, taking the hockey pucks, we don't lose either.
04:40We're going to put him off to the side.
04:42I know I did say this already, though, that the helmet is not removable,
04:44so don't try to yank it off, whatever you do.
04:46But we do at least get treated here to a brand new head sculpt, which is nice.
04:50Because, again, like up to this point, we've gotten a lot of this head sculpt,
04:53whether it be a different colored shirt, whether it be a different winking eye.
04:56It's nice that we see ourselves a different head sculpt,
04:58which is one thing, though, that really Homer, Homer on Homer,
05:01never really got the chance to have.
05:03I do actually think the head sculpt looks really good.
05:05I would love if they could release a head like this for a regular Bart body.
05:10I don't think that, like, what's the likelihood?
05:11What are they just going to sell it as?
05:12Wave six angry Barts?
05:14Oh, wait, there is a wave?
05:15No, that's really not.
05:16The coloring, though, looks really good on him.
05:18I think he's really well painted,
05:20although it's not really necessarily telling us what team he works for or what he's part of.
05:23You can see that he's got some nice blue.
05:25It's got some nice striping in there.
05:26Maybe he's part of the Toronto Maple Leafs.
05:28No, he'd never want to be part of Maple Leafs.
05:30They never really win.
05:31Of course, you've got some nice little striping here right in the top,
05:34right before it hits the elbow,
05:35and they've painted well the gloves there as well.
05:37I like that even, like, to the smallest touches of detail that they've added the blue,
05:41and it's not really quite red.
05:42It's kind of more of an orangey red,
05:44but they've striped it on the top of his glove.
05:46This is also lifted, too.
05:48So if you were just thinking that they stickered this or just labeled it on top with paint,
05:52no, no, it's actually a lifted sculpted piece.
05:54Nice little attention to detail.
05:56One concern, though, I really thought I was going to have
05:58was that Bart wasn't going to be able to stand properly.
06:00I mean, if you look at the size of his feet already,
06:02I mean, that's going working against him.
06:04But then you have to add the blades of the skates.
06:06I thought these would be, like, with how small they would be,
06:09a difficult feat for...
06:10Oh, I see what I did there.
06:11A difficult feat for Bartholomew Jay to be able to balance.
06:15And yet, though, he stands perfectly fine.
06:17As, of course, I now just put him down,
06:18and he starts to weeble and wobble.
06:20Well, yeah, you can put him down, and he stands perfectly fine.
06:23You know, again, like, Bart really wasn't so much the issue before.
06:25The only figure that really had a difficult time to stand was Lisa Simpson.
06:29The regular Barts, and even, like, Milhouse, for the size of their feet,
06:33they seem to stand perfectly fine.
06:34Now, where these would have obviously had the holes in the bottoms of their feet
06:37to accommodate display stands,
06:38even though, again, we don't have a display stand with these figures,
06:40hockey skating Bart does not, unfortunately, have it,
06:43because there's no way that you could attach a display stand on the bottoms of his feet.
06:46But for the figure's articulation, if you're familiar with that Bart,
06:49or you're familiar with the one over here,
06:51why are we pointing in different directions?
06:52Well, I have the red shirt over here, and I have Bart, Bartman over there.
06:57So the articulation is pretty much going to be the same.
06:59Head's going to be on a standard swivel.
07:01So what I'm doing right now is the only thing you'd be able to do with this figure.
07:04It doesn't really look up, doesn't really look down.
07:06I don't feel like I'm missing out by the fact that the figure doesn't have a proper ball joint.
07:10If he's doing what he's doing right now, that's more than enough for me.
07:14As for his arms, though, they rotate all the way around.
07:16You can hinge them out.
07:17There's a ball joint actually working behind the shoulders.
07:19There's a swivel here at the top.
07:21There's actually a swivel right here and a bend in the elbow.
07:24And you can rotate the hands all the way around.
07:27For his waist, they do actually manage still to incorporate a waist swivel.
07:31He has ball joints, although the ball joints really don't let the legs go very far out
07:35just because the jersey's going over top of it.
07:36But he goes to about that far.
07:38And of course, you can have him bring this forward.
07:40You can bring this back.
07:40I mean, I would really like to be able to have him kind of more in a skating pose.
07:43But the likelihood, now I'm really pushing my luck, to actually get him to balance on that,
07:47that would be a harder thing to pull off.
07:49But the legs go forward and back.
07:50They go out just only a little bit.
07:52It's a mild swivel there.
07:53There is a bend in the knee.
07:55But the bend in the knees are always the hardest thing to pull off.
07:57If you see how little of a hemes there actually is, that's as much of the knee.
08:01I guess that's not bad.
08:02I mean, really, all things considered, that's not bad at all for postability.
08:05The figure does also have swivels in his feet.
08:08Obviously, no articulation in the skates.
08:09That would just be ridiculous.
08:11Clever, but that would also be ridiculous.
08:13All in all, though, really nice looking figure.
08:15I hope, though, that he's not a peg warmer while he's out there on the ice.
08:18Because I actually think that Hockey Bart, or Hockey Playing Bart, however you'd like to call it,
08:22Wave 5 actually does list him as Hockey Bart, along with Mrs. Carrable, Grandpa, and Troy McClure.
08:28Those are all part of the Wave 5 figures.
08:30I did want to kind of look at Bart first.
08:32I had a chance both older Bart and Grandpa Simpson, which we will be looking at also, also this week.
08:37But I actually like the look of Hockey Bart.
08:38It's different. It's not just a case that we've slapped on some new paint.
08:42I know, obviously, with Bartman.
08:44I mean, Bartman kind of really does have, when you look at the two, very similar expressions.
08:48Maybe, maybe.
08:50Did they maybe bore over some of the mold?
08:53Maybe not.
08:53It does look like his head's just a little bit higher than Bartman.
08:56Very similar expression, though.
08:58You know, again, I am glad that it's not just a case that we're getting another Bart with yet another colored shirt.
09:02I'm fine just to order another colored Bart, but I do also want, from time to time, Jax to spend a little bit more time, work a little harder to produce another Bart Simpson, that it isn't just, again, a color swap for his shirt.
09:13The Hockey Bart does look good.
09:14Again, he's got a brand new face.
09:16He's got a brand new helmet.
09:17He's got a brand new hockey jersey.
09:18It's a nice-looking figure if you get the chance to pick this one up for yourself.
09:21With a little bit of persuading, I was, in fact, able to get the hockey puck into Bart's hands.
09:24The plastic actually in his hands is soft enough that you can pry the fingers away from the thumb and wedge the hockey puck in there.
09:31So, in fact, unlike before, Hockey Bart, in fact, can hold both the accessories in his hands easily.
09:37Now, when it comes to obviously displaying the figure, I really actually have plans to probably display this guy along with Homer and Homer.
09:42I know they are really from different teams, different sports, but having, though, the two sports-related characters kind of displayed together makes a little bit more sense.
09:50As it is right now on my shelf, I kind of have, like, the core members of the Simpsons family all together.
09:54Then I have, like, the secondary characters all kind of grouped together after that.
09:57Then, again, the sports characters, I'll group with that after the fact.
10:00Now, obviously, this is from Wave 5.
10:02Wave 5 does have Hockey Bart, Mrs. Kerbopple, Grandpa, which, again, I was lucky enough to pick up, and Troy McClure.
10:08I haven't seen yet Mrs. Kerbopple, and I haven't seen listings yet for Troy McClure.
10:12Whether those figures are going to be still part of this wave or they're just shipping those a little bit later, I still got my hands on Grandpa.
10:18That doesn't really sound all that great.
10:20And these guys are available right now either in stores or if you've had, like, no luck at all.
10:24Like, this guy has had no luck at all even finding things like this generally in the wild.
10:28You'll know, too, that you can generally also find these online.
10:31Let me know what you guys think of Hockey Bart down below in the comments section.
10:34Do you mind at all that we get another, again, another release of Bart, considering the amount of changes that they put into this figure?
10:40Let me know what you guys think of him down below.
10:42If you guys did also enjoy this video, you can do it a solid throw to like.
10:45You guys want to stick around for more?
10:46So, I hope so, we're going to be looking again at Grandpa Simpson.
10:49There is actually another Simpsons figure.
10:51I'm not going to tell you who it is just yet, but it's related to Halloween, and it's coming up this week.
10:57Spooky!
10:58It is.
10:58It is.
10:59So, that video is going to be coming your way also as well.
11:01So, I hope you guys are going to be coming back to this channel regularly.
11:03And as always, thanks for watching.
11:05See you guys next time.
11:07See you guys next time.
11:16See you guys next time.
