00:00The utterly bizarre story of former NFL quarterback Mark Sanchez.
00:04Every twist and turn and update is weirder than the last.
00:09Now, Sanchez went from undeniable embarrassment on the field as a New York Jet
00:13to an analyst for Fox Sports after he retired.
00:16Now, he was in Indianapolis this weekend for the Colts Raiders game.
00:19Late Friday night, Sanchez allegedly body slammed a 69-year-old grease truck driver
00:25who then stabbed Sanchez in the chest in what he calls self-defense.
00:30Sanchez was taken to the hospital and arrested while he was there.
00:34Here's what authorities say happened to lead to this insanity.
00:38Shortly after midnight, Sanchez complained to the driver that his truck was blocking an alley
00:43where he was trying to do wind sprints.
00:47Mark, buddy, my man, you haven't played pro ball in like, what, seven years?
00:52Why are you doing wind sprints in an alley behind a pub in the middle of the night?
00:59Oh, he was also, quote, acting erratically, you don't say, and had been allegedly drinking.
01:06You don't say.
01:07This is all according to sources who spoke to the local Fox affiliate.
01:10A hotel security camera captured the two men having at least two interactions before Sanchez is seen
01:15running after the driver, then grabbing him, throwing him against a wall, and then the ground.
01:20The driver says he sprayed Sanchez with mace, and when that didn't stop his attack, he stabbed him.
01:28Now, the incident was mentioned very briefly during Fox's football coverage Sunday.
01:32Friday night in Indianapolis, one of our team members, Mark Sanchez, was involved in an incident
01:37that we are still trying to wrap our heads around.
01:39And at this time, our thoughts and prayers are with Mark, his family, and all of those involved.
