00:00One of Taiwan's major air carriers, EVA Airways, says it's going to improve its employee evaluation practices by the end of the year.
00:09And Taiwan's Labor Ministry is also mulling changes to worker compensation policies.
00:14This comes after an EVA Airways flight attendant died after working on a long-haul flight while feeling unwell.
00:33Company critics say that the EVA's leave policies are punitive and deter people from taking time off on sudden notice.
00:40They say this may have factored into the attendant's decision, not to call in sick.
00:46EVA released a report earlier this week on its findings about the case and promised the change.
00:51But a union representing Taiwan's flight attendant says EVA needs to do more than just improve its worker evaluations.
01:10The union says it will continue to put pressure on EVA and plans to protest a marathon being held by the company in Taipei on Sunday.
