00:00:30Welcome to the Football Show on PLZ Soccer's YouTube channel.
00:00:37I'm Peter Martin, Alan Ruff, Alison McConnell, Tam McManus here with me in the studio.
00:00:42Thank you so much for your support over the course of the season.
00:00:46Hit that subscribe button on PLZ Soccer's YouTube channel if you want to come and join the football family.
00:00:50There are so many that have managed to do that, but there's still a lot who watch the programme
00:00:55and haven't yet hit that subscribe button for us.
00:00:58We'd love you to do that over the course of the programme.
00:01:01And thank you so much to so many people who listen to the podcast, download it, so they don't need to see our faces.
00:01:08Now, our main official charity partner for the whole season is Maggie's Cancer Care.
00:01:14And you can go to www.maggies.org to see the fabulous work that the Maggie's Centres provide for families affected by cancer.
00:01:25You may well know somebody who's looking for information.
00:01:28It's the perfect place to go on the website.
00:01:30So, lots to talk about before we get to the weekend and the big, big game on the Sunday.
00:01:36But last night, it was European football that dominated our thoughts.
00:01:42And two out of the three were, is it fair to say, embarrassing, disappointing, expected?
00:01:50I think the Aberdeen one was obviously disappointing.
00:01:53I think the Rangers one was expected.
00:01:56I felt it really strange to have a year calling at his players to have a look at themselves when he is the main culprit any time they go into Europe.
00:02:04You know, he always doesn't lead by example.
00:02:08His defending is absolutely diabolical.
00:02:11And after that, they just caved in, just as usual.
00:02:14Well, if you want to dissect brand three, Rangers nil, you only have to look at, you know, earlier in the week, Danny Rule was rolled out there to the public.
00:02:25The board were there.
00:02:26They were answering some difficult questions.
00:02:29And if he didn't really have a grasp of what he was taking on, he certainly got a real insight into it after that game.
00:02:37It would have given him a very clear idea of the magnitude of the work that lies ahead of what he's inherited with the squad.
00:02:45He spoke on Tuesday afternoon of that soft centre of needing to create a back line that doesn't give up quite so many chances.
00:02:54It isn't so porous.
00:02:56That will be the first time that he's had a look at it front and centre and will appreciate just how difficult a job it is now that lies ahead.
00:03:03It's a Rangers team, to me, that looks as though it is in freefall.
00:03:08You can sense the fragility of it.
00:03:11You can see how easily it is for teams to manipulate them, get in behind them.
00:03:16And you can also, it's almost palpable, the lack of confidence and belief that's in it.
00:03:21Yeah.
00:03:22And of course, you know, 3-0 after, what, 27 minutes of the game.
00:03:27You know, I mean, I'm looking at the whole, how it all unfolded.
00:03:31I beg your pardon, not 3-0 after 27 minutes, but 3-0 at the end of the 90 minutes.
00:03:36And it could have been a lot more.
00:03:39Their defence is the biggest problem.
00:03:41It's been highlighted time and time again, Tam.
00:03:43It doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out where Rangers' problems lie.
00:03:47Yeah, I just don't think the two full-backs are good enough, Peter.
00:03:50And I think they're killing the team.
00:03:51I think you look at the boy, McGomer, as well.
00:03:53Can't defend.
00:03:54Can't defend, Peter.
00:03:56James Tavern there, I agree with Ruffey.
00:03:57If you're going to come out and start having a go at people, you know, start having a go at your teammates, make sure you're doing your own job.
00:04:03He's not doing his own job at the minute, Peter.
00:04:05You know, for the first goal in particular, doesn't track the runner, doesn't tuck in in terms of getting in goal side.
00:04:10Boy, one pass right through, boy gets through and scores.
00:04:14And the third goal as well, I think he was at fault.
00:04:16So, I just think that if you're a Rangers supporter looking at that game, where's the hope?
00:04:22You know, I thought they were toothless up front as well, Peter.
00:04:25They've paid £8-9 million for a striker who looks hopeless at the minute.
00:04:29This is another one that the fans are looking at and scrutinising.
00:04:31So, defensively, they're poor.
00:04:33They can't score goals.
00:04:34They appear spineless, heartless.
00:04:37Really, really disappointing performance.
00:04:38And if you're a Rangers supporter watching that, you're watching through the back of the couch.
00:04:42They're not actually a team.
00:04:43They're just a team.
00:04:44They're not playing as a team yet.
00:04:45They're just looking after themselves.
00:04:47They're just wondering about saving their own skin.
00:04:49I thought it was interesting.
00:04:51The comments from Tavernier obviously echo the sentiment from Jack Butland last week.
00:04:58Is that not them looking after themselves?
00:05:00That's exactly.
00:05:01It almost becomes about self-preservation of coming out and there's a new manager coming in
00:05:05and you're distancing yourself a bit from the collective.
00:05:10You're coming out and saying, well, this isn't me and we need better.
00:05:14What he said is accurate, but as a team, this is a team that have woefully underperformed.
00:05:21This is James Tavernier's comments after the game.
00:05:26It's disgraceful, the performance.
00:05:27Simple as that.
00:05:29In all the years I've been here, for the consistency of poor performance we are putting in, I've not experienced this before.
00:05:35Some of us show our aggression after the games, after we get beaten.
00:05:41You expect all the lads to take that in, but we have to look at ourselves much harder.
00:05:45There's not enough fight and it shouldn't be us saying that for Rangers players.
00:05:51It should be the given that you fight.
00:05:54It's just far too easy at this moment playing against us.
00:05:57I'm raging.
00:05:58I think that's one for the supporters, Peter.
00:06:00I think if I'm his team-mate and I read that and I've seen that interview, I go,
00:06:05have a look at yourself, mate, in terms of your own performance.
00:06:09I think that's just for the supporters completely and I think that's him looking after himself.
00:06:13Yeah, but how difficult is it when, after every performance, your PR guy rolls out the captain?
00:06:20It's the captain who's consistently having to come out and explain.
00:06:25He's not always to blame Tam.
00:06:27You know, he's front and centre as the captain and he's been much maligned at times for his inability to defend,
00:06:35but going forward, he can be useful.
00:06:38But he's rolled out when the entire team has been woeful over a long period of time.
00:06:44This is not an isolated incident.
00:06:45This is him being rolled out every time.
00:06:47I mean, the catchphrase now is disappointing.
00:06:50Yeah, I think that he takes, obviously, a bears of brunt from a lot of the Rangers supporters.
00:06:53He's the captain of the club, so I think the onus is probably on him when things are not going well
00:06:57to come out and try and explain it.
00:06:59But, you know, I just think that reeks of self-preservation.
00:07:02Same with Jack Blutland the other week.
00:07:03You know, I looked at Nico Raskin last night.
00:07:05You know, there are other Rangers supporters.
00:07:06We're shouting for him to get back on the team.
00:07:08He's not doing anything either.
00:07:10So I just think that's a real mess at the minute.
00:07:13You've got a striker up front who looks devoid of any confidence.
00:07:17They don't look, you know, Gassama started his career at Rangers really well.
00:07:21He's miles off the boil as well.
00:07:22So you're just looking at that Rangers team and going, right, where are we going to get a goal from?
00:07:25Are we going to keep a clean sheet?
00:07:26No.
00:07:26Who's going to score a goal?
00:07:27Who's going to create a bit of magic?
00:07:29It's really depressing, I think, if you're a Rangers supporter watching this team at the minute.
00:07:32Well, the one thing that maybe is a modicum of hope is that Danny Rule is going to get a chance to work with him over a sustained period of time to try and reverse the trend.
00:07:45He certainly and surely will be given more time than Russell Martin was.
00:07:50This is what Danny Rule had to say to the fans because obviously he was over at that section where they paid good money to go and see Rangers.
00:07:58I apologise for this defeat and this performance.
00:08:01They travel a lot for the team.
00:08:02They are always there.
00:08:03It was very important for me to show I understand them.
00:08:06I said I'm working very hard to improve this group of players to step up and get results.
00:08:11The reason why I'd walked to them was to give them the big respect they deserve.
00:08:16This is my job.
00:08:17My God, he's only in the job a couple of days, Ruffy.
00:08:21So, you know, at the end of the day, that could be the first of many all the way to the end of the season until he realises, you know, first of all, the major problems.
00:08:31Second of all, work on them.
00:08:33Somehow try to do what Russell Martin was unable to do, which is basically get them so organised that they're difficult to beat and concede goals.
00:08:42Yeah, I think that's one of their biggest problems.
00:08:43They've got Tavernier as a captain, but they don't have a leader.
00:08:47They don't have anybody on the part.
00:08:48I mean, we all played in games, you'd have a leader, somebody like Yogi Hughes, somebody like Roy Aitken, somebody like Graeme Souness.
00:08:55You know, guys who own the park, they don't really need the manager.
00:08:59No, they can change it.
00:09:00They can see something that's not happening and say, right, you, you, you, you and you.
00:09:04They don't have anybody like that, so they're relying on whoever's trackside to sort it out.
00:09:08But it is a difficult one.
00:09:09I have to give them credit.
00:09:10He was very brave going over to the supporters.
00:09:13You know, that could have turned a bit nasty.
00:09:15But obviously, he's a new guy.
00:09:16They're giving him a bit of leeway.
00:09:18But it remains to be seen whether he continues to do it.
00:09:21Yeah.
00:09:22We'll give him a bit of leeway until then, the weekend.
00:09:25And then all bets are off.
00:09:27It's as simple as that because, quite simply, you know, it's a simple equation here for any manager of Celtic or Rangers.
00:09:36Win, win, and then win again.
00:09:38And that is something that Alex McLeish, who was speaking to our reporter and presenter, Cara Henderson, who presents the European show.
00:09:46It's a look back at the performances of Scottish clubs in Europe.
00:09:50Well worth the watch this week because it's coming out with Cara hosting it.
00:09:55And Alex McLeish, the former Rangers manager, is her special guest.
00:09:59And this is what Alex had to say about what's required.
00:10:02He's my great friend, sadly departed, Walter Smith, who was my coaching badge when I was at Largs.
00:10:13And Walter, when I went to Rangers, we went out with his wife, my wife and I, and I asked him,
00:10:22I'm going into Rangers this week, Walter, any tips for me going into Ibrox?
00:10:27And he says, Alex, look me right in the eye and said, just win.
00:10:34Just win.
00:10:35And as I said at the beginning of this conversation, it's a team, maybe about 20, 30 teams in the world, who have to win every week.
00:10:45Yeah, well worth listening to, Alex, talking to Cara Henderson on the European Football Show.
00:10:53And as ever on PLZ Soccer, we're giving you so much content that you hopefully will enjoy one-to-ones.
00:10:59And of course, there is something that I hope you will look forward to coming out within the next couple of hours on our show,
00:11:06on our channel, is Tam McMahon is chatting to Cara, talking tactics.
00:11:12It's a Partick Thistle striker and a Hibs striker, talking tactics about the big game of Hearts against Celtic.
00:11:18And you've been on the screen and you've worked out how to move the heads and everything, Tam.
00:11:21I have, and I didn't break your screen, which is great as well.
00:11:25So, no, I think it's something different.
00:11:26It's something that a lot of companies are not doing.
00:11:29So it was great for me and Cara to just put my heads together and try and figure out a way that Hearts are going to beat Celtic.
00:11:34Are Celtic going to beat Hearts?
00:11:36Yeah, it's on the touchscreen, of course, an in-depth look at the way they potentially could line up with the injuries.
00:11:42We'll talk about that shortly.
00:11:43Not many companies are doing that sort of thing, certainly none in Scotland.
00:11:47But over the next couple of weeks, undoubtedly, the dealer record, the Sun and the Herald will try and buy a screen and then do that programme as well.
00:11:54Just copying everything we do.
00:11:56Is that fair, Ali?
00:11:57Am I being too harsh there?
00:11:59Flattery is the most sincere form.
00:12:01Our imitation is the greatest form of flattery.
00:12:03Yeah, absolutely.
00:12:04Okay, can't wait to see them trying to move the heads.
00:12:09Anyway, well worth watching the tactics talk there with Cara.
00:12:15Now, Rangers have to get at it domestically.
00:12:19They have to get into it on Sunday against Kilmarnock.
00:12:23And he's going to get a real feel for it then, Danny Rowley.
00:12:26He'll have more time that he's worked with the players.
00:12:29And I think the immediate message, undoubtedly, is going to be, this is how I want you to line up.
00:12:36This is the role that I want you to perform in the team.
00:12:39This is the structure.
00:12:40Don't deviate from it.
00:12:41Surely, that's the first thing he's going to do.
00:12:43Yeah, well, again, he's not going to have much time to do it.
00:12:45Obviously, travelling back for the game.
00:12:48By all accounts, when you listen to people who've worked with him, he's quite a ruthless guy.
00:12:54He makes his mind up very, very early in players that are going to fit his system and players are not.
00:12:59And he doesn't mess about in telling them, no, you'd better find another club because you're not going to get a game here.
00:13:04So I think it'll be an indication at the weekend, obviously, after him seeing that game last night,
00:13:10the players that he thinks will fit into his programme.
00:13:13OK, what about Kelly?
00:13:15They've got a chance to maybe inflict even more damage on a wounded ranger's side and down there at Rugby Park this week.
00:13:24In fact, this morning, in the fog, Cara Henderson.
00:13:32She's still lost in the fog.
00:13:34She's still lost in the fog.
00:13:36So we'll get Cara talking about Kilmarnock because, undoubtedly, they came a cropper against Harts,
00:13:43but they're going to have to bounce back.
00:13:45Yeah, absolutely.
00:13:46I think it's a kind of odd one, I think, for Kilmarnock going there when Danny Rales is going into his first home game.
00:13:54Rangers, of course, haven't won a home league game yet at Ibrox.
00:13:58So they'll be keen to make a proper start.
00:14:03It's almost a reset.
00:14:04That was the word used on Tuesday for this season.
00:14:07There's a fairly compelling argument to say that the league is already gone through Rangers' perspective this term,
00:14:15given the distance that they would have to go and make up.
00:14:18But I think what you'd want to see are positive steps.
00:14:21You would want to see a bit of cohesion come into this side.
00:14:24And I think many people would overlook the result against Bran just because of the fact he was barely in the job.
00:14:31Unveiled on Tuesday, flying out on Wednesday.
00:14:33It would be very unfair to make an assessment on the manager on the back of last night's performance.
00:14:38They'll want to start seeing domestically indications of how this team are going to set up under them,
00:14:43what kind of style they're going to play, and then what, of course, you can come to expect from this Rangers team.
00:14:48And certainly at Ibrox, they'll be looking to get a good win against Kilmarnock.
00:14:54Are they going to get a win against Kilmarnock?
00:14:57It's difficult right now, Peter, to see Rangers beating anyone, to be honest with you, the way they're playing.
00:15:02You know, there's a lot of poise in the stands at the minute.
00:15:05The players are not playing well.
00:15:06There's a lack of confidence.
00:15:08You know, I would go with a more Scottish spine.
00:15:11You know, guys like Conor Barron, they bring guys like that in.
00:15:13I just think it's missing something like that, you know, and they come in and just get a result domestically.
00:15:19So, listen, I think Kilmarnock have been stuffy this season.
00:15:22You know, they're doing okay, but Rangers, it's got a turn at some point for Rangers, Peter.
00:15:27And, you know, Danny Roll's first game, I think the Rangers supporters will obviously be giving him a benefit of the doubt at the minute.
00:15:34You know, he's inherited, you know, someone else's players, but you would think that Rangers have got enough to beat Kilmarnock at home.
00:15:40And I think they probably might maybe just nick it 2-1, but not with any confidence.
00:15:46Ruffey?
00:15:47Yeah, like, it's got a turn, you know, that we can't sit here and say they're a team who are creating chances quite a lot.
00:15:56They're not.
00:15:57They're just struggling through games.
00:15:58They're looking for somebody to score a goal early.
00:16:01They need to score a goal early.
00:16:02They need to go ahead.
00:16:03They need to get the support behind them because it's very evident when they go behind, players on that part can't handle, you know, what's rest for the rest of the game.
00:16:12So, for me, they need to score first.
00:16:15I thought the goals Kilmarnock lost last week were poor.
00:16:17So, I think Rangers will win this one 2-0.
00:16:20Okay, Ali.
00:16:21I think they'll win it too.
00:16:22I think they've probably got to show something.
00:16:27They'll know that it's, you know, for many of these players are just in last chance saloon in the eyes of their own support.
00:16:34There's a new manager coming in.
00:16:36Lots of players playing for their own futures and what comes next.
00:16:40I think they know that they've got to get their act together and eke out a performance by any means necessary.
00:16:48I think Kilmarnock will make it really stodgy for them.
00:16:51I think they'll make it as difficult as possible.
00:16:54I'm going to say Rangers 2-1.
00:16:56Okay.
00:16:56There's nowhere to hide for the Rangers players now, Peter.
00:16:59I think a lot of them hid behind Russell Martin and he took all the flank, took all the dunce.
00:17:03He's a diddy, you know, and the players get away with murder.
00:17:06There's no hiding place for them now.
00:17:07They're going to turn up.
00:17:07Yeah, which is why I'm going to go Rangers 1-Kilmarnock 1.
00:17:11I genuinely, I think he's going to need a fair bit of time.
00:17:16I think he's definitely going to need some more painful results along the way, all the way to the January transfer window.
00:17:24And then I hope he can somehow get some kind of movement to bring in one or two players that he knows, Ruffy, that can help him.
00:17:33You know, because managers do go to sometimes the tried and trusted players that they know will battle for them.
00:17:39Well, unfortunately, he's not got a lot of time.
00:17:41As Alison said, he's only got that game last night to sort of judge the players that he knows is going to be in a fight.
00:17:47Because it is going to be a fight, you know, if Kilmarnock make it difficult for them and he's going to need players.
00:17:52But I really do believe when Rangers score first and they're confident and the crowd's behind them, there are players in there who have got a wee bit of quality.
00:18:00But they need to believe in themselves and scoring a goal early would do that.
00:18:04And I think Kilmarnock might be in for something.
00:18:06Yeah, I love the way you said that, Ruffy, because there's no evidence of Rangers scoring first.
00:18:11They scored the first against Undy United.
00:18:12Yeah, but there's no evidence of them holding on to it.
00:18:15I mean, that's the thing about it.
00:18:16I think you sense it.
00:18:17I think they're a team who struggle in any moments of adversity.
00:18:22They toil to get themselves out when it goes against them.
00:18:25You saw it last weekend at Ibrox.
00:18:27I would argue that the first half against Undy United is the best that they've played all season.
00:18:33They could have been much further ahead.
00:18:35Yet the minute it turns and United are back in the game, you sense the weakness within the team.
00:18:43Players not wanting the ball.
00:18:44You sense the anger from the supporters, the fear from players almost about making another mistake or giving the ball away.
00:18:51You don't have that leadership on the park that's required when you're up against it and you need something to go and create something almost out of nothing.
00:19:01Just take a grip of the game.
00:19:03Sometimes it's difficult to see Cara when it's really foggy, but we persevered and she's been talking to Stuart Kettlewell.
00:19:10Yes, thank you, Peter.
00:19:11I'm at Rugby Park.
00:19:12You can't really see behind me. It's very misty this morning.
00:19:14But we've just finished speaking to Stuart Kettlewell and, of course, he was previewing the big game on Sunday against Rangers at Ibrox.
00:19:20And he's looking for a reaction from his squad.
00:19:23Of course, they were beaten 3-0 by Hearts here on Saturday night.
00:19:26And he said they needed a reset this week.
00:19:28They're back to the principles that they were doing before.
00:19:31But heading into this game, it's a wee bit of an unknown for him and Kilmarnock.
00:19:34Of course, Rangers now onto the leadership of Danny Roll losing last night, but still not 100% sure what a Danny Roll Rangers team will look like.
00:19:41So this is how Stuart Kettlewell said that he will be approaching the game.
00:19:44I think we often work off that three previous game cycle.
00:19:50So we would always analyse three previous games and we're not really able to do that.
00:19:55So kind of what we're looking at is player traits, kind of what we're looking at is strengths and weaknesses.
00:20:00And then off the back of the game last night, we will analyse that.
00:20:03But we're having to take other things into consideration, you know, how much emphasis can you put on Danny Roll being the Sheffield Wednesday manager because it's a different club and a different country and things like that.
00:20:16But I think you're looking for traits, you're looking for aspects that he'll look for from his team.
00:20:21Rangers are still looking to win in the league for the first time at Ibrox this season.
00:20:25And Stuart Kettlewell, he will be looking to do what other teams have done already, headed to Ibrox.
00:20:29But he was keen to stress that it's really important for his Kilmarnock side not to underestimate Rangers at all.
00:20:34When you start to look at it closely, there are a lot of good players in that.
00:20:39That Rangers squad, there's been heavy investment to make sure that they bring in what they feel are top players and guys that can really flourish at the football club.
00:20:46So I suppose from my side of it, I get and acknowledge that it's not been a start in performances that Rangers support or staff or players would be expecting.
00:20:56But I'm also the guy that really expects the best version of them on Sunday.
00:21:01And I think if you go in imagining something different, you're very, very naive.
00:21:05And sometimes I think that's where you can get a smack in the face.
00:21:07It's the 3pm kick-off then on Sunday and PLZ Soccer will have you covered.
00:21:11So make sure that you follow all of our social media channels to get all the updates and then manager and player reaction as it happens.
00:21:17And of course, remember to subscribe to our PLZ Premium service where you can get exclusive content
00:21:21and be in with the chance of winning a Champions League final ticket.
00:21:24Yeah, see, that's what you call a professional by the way.
00:21:29It's getting better.
00:21:30It was all there.
00:21:31You know, promos a lot.
00:21:33Alison, make you sick, wouldn't it?
00:21:35When somebody remembers everything that they should say.
00:21:39Okay, Celtic 2, Sturmgratz 1.
00:21:43Let's go to Mr Positivity because you often say...
00:21:47Are you going to give Arnie Ingalls a bit of credit for his performance?
00:21:49I am going to give Arnie Ingalls a bit of credit, but I'll listen to you and see if you are as positive as Neil Lennon was last night in the Commons.
00:22:00He was very positive, wasn't he, Lennon?
00:22:02I thought it was a European final.
00:22:04No, listen, I think that it's a much-needed win for Celtic.
00:22:08I think it was a must-win game.
00:22:09I really do.
00:22:09I think that the confidence has been very low in the last few games.
00:22:13Poor performance on Sunday.
00:22:14Go 1-0 down.
00:22:15Two early substitutions.
00:22:17Two of your key players come off.
00:22:19You're looking at it going, it's going to happen again.
00:22:21But I think Celtic showed great character, great courage in the second half.
00:22:24And really, but for Negrin's finishing, could have been 4 or 5 up.
00:22:29You know, he obviously got the goal, but he missed two or three great chances.
00:22:32I think for the first time Celtic really looked as if they could go and score goals.
00:22:36They created chances.
00:22:37I think it was the biggest expected goals in the Europa League this season.
00:22:40Over four goals.
00:22:41So, I think if you're a Celtic supporter, I think that's more like it.
00:22:44That's more like it.
00:22:44I thought Andy Engels was excellent.
00:22:47I thought his delivery was superb.
00:22:49I thought he got about the park.
00:22:50He passed forward.
00:22:51I thought the combination with Tierney and Tunectic down the left-hand side was really promising.
00:22:56I thought they showed signs of linking up and could be a good partnership down the left-hand side.
00:23:00I thought Liam Scales was excellent, again.
00:23:02So, I think there's a lot of good performances from Celtic.
00:23:05I thought Hatati was good in the second half.
00:23:06I'd have been poor in the first half.
00:23:08So, all in all, bar the injuries, you know, I was going to speak about Carter Vickers,
00:23:12who it's a real blow for him and for Celtic.
00:23:14Alistair Johnson and Iheanacho, off of hamstring injuries.
00:23:17It could be a real shell of a team going into this game on Sunday.
00:23:21So, I think that the whole squad's got to rally around and really dig in and get results
00:23:25because the Celtic squad's getting stretched to the limit at the minute.
00:23:29Okay.
00:23:30Unbelievably positive from nothing missing was red hair.
00:23:33I have to say, Ruffey, I don't share that view.
00:23:37I thought it was a competent performance by Celtic.
00:23:41Engels does deserve credit.
00:23:43I think the person who deserves the most credit in that whole Celtic team is Liam Scales.
00:23:48He has his faults, but he's been Celtic's best player since the start of the season.
00:23:53Well, there's no doubt about that.
00:23:55You know, again, he does have weaknesses.
00:23:57I keep going on about it.
00:23:58You know, when Celtic do lose goals, he seems to be always the guy that's run about, you know,
00:24:03not picking him up or whatever.
00:24:04But in saying that, he adds the enthusiasm.
00:24:07You know, he's had a great season.
00:24:09He's been a bigger standout than Cameron Vickers.
00:24:12There's no doubt about that.
00:24:13But he's been good.
00:24:14And how he took his goal was fantastic as well.
00:24:17I mean, if the strikers could adjust their feet like that, you know, it'd be a bonus.
00:24:21But, you know, I think Engels, you know, was a star last night for me in the second half.
00:24:25And it's amazing how they seem to shine against European sides.
00:24:29You know, the style of play.
00:24:31You know, I think Scottish football seems to be hustle-bustle.
00:24:35You know, they find it hard to adapt to it.
00:24:37But when they come into a European game, they seem to have a lot more confidence.
00:24:41And they're on the ball a lot more.
00:24:42And he was certainly outstanding last night.
00:24:46Yeah.
00:24:46Ali, were you as impressed?
00:24:48Was there a reason to become, you know, I mean, this is Brendan Rodgers' quotes, first of all,
00:24:54which obviously reflect the fact that I think he's got to be happy that they got the win.
00:24:59The injuries could have disrupted us.
00:25:01But it was a brilliant performance.
00:25:02We weren't quite a Ferrari, but I'll go for a Range Rover Sport.
00:25:07Hopefully we have no more Morris Minor performances.
00:25:11That is what I expect to see from us going forward.
00:25:14From setbacks, you need to show motivation.
00:25:16I asked the players to be leaders, and you could see that in the performance.
00:25:20And I think, you know, you've got to give Brendan credit because they were under the cosh.
00:25:25Probably not the right choice of car there in a Range Rover Sport.
00:25:29It's the most broken into car in London.
00:25:31And it's certainly not one of the most reliable choice of a local gangster as well.
00:25:35I was just about to say, not only that, but I've seen a few of them that break down.
00:25:39I don't want to dismantle it in case Celtic fans think I'm being negative about it.
00:25:44It was a good performance, but it wasn't a great performance.
00:25:48I think it's a step in the right direction.
00:25:52That's what you would say about it.
00:25:53If you analyse the full game, that game could have been away from Celtic by the time the break came round in the opening half.
00:26:01You know, they hit the post, had a fantastic chance, scooped over the bar from the six yard line.
00:26:05And I thought Celtic still looked fairly fragile at the back in moments.
00:26:10However, they rallied, they came back, turned it around, two quick goals in the second half.
00:26:15And it could have been far more comprehensive when you look at the opportunities that they had across the second period.
00:26:21It could have been three, easily have been three or four, probably should have been three or four,
00:26:25particularly Negrin when you look at the opportunities that he missed.
00:26:29So it's a step in the right direction.
00:26:32Judgment will come on Sunday.
00:26:33I think you'll get an idea of just where the Celtic team are when they go to Tynecastle against a Hearts team who are flying.
00:26:40You'll get a chance to see how they stand up against that kind of test.
00:26:43You know, at Tynecastle, the crowd are right on top of you.
00:26:46It'll be noisy.
00:26:48The atmosphere will be fantastic.
00:26:50People will be kicking every ball.
00:26:52You'll have a shout for everything.
00:26:54And you'll get an idea of where the Celtic team are and how they go and compete.
00:27:00But to make a judgment on one performance, I think it's just too soon.
00:27:05Yeah.
00:27:05Give me a word to describe it.
00:27:07Last night?
00:27:10Just one word to describe it.
00:27:15Satisfying for Celtic.
00:27:16I think they'll be pleased to have steadied the ship a bit.
00:27:20Because if you look across at the next couple of games, it was a game last night, the game at Tynecastle.
00:27:26And then you have a semi-final coming up against strangers at Hampden.
00:27:30Had they lost to Dundee, lost last night.
00:27:33Then be going into Tynecastle with the prospect of maybe coming away from that on the back of a difficult afternoon and then going to Hampden.
00:27:41I think all manner of storm clouds were building.
00:27:43And so I think to dissipate that noise and break it up will be quite satisfying for everyone associated with Celtic just now.
00:27:50Okay.
00:27:51Satisfying.
00:27:52Right.
00:27:53Okay.
00:27:53We'll accept that.
00:27:54Ruffy, the biggest problem now for Brendan is picking a team after three players.
00:28:00You know, look as if they will miss this game.
00:28:03Now, Carter Vickers are struggling.
00:28:06Johnson's not going to make it.
00:28:08And almost certainly...
00:28:10In an actual six-month.
00:28:11You know, so it's...
00:28:14Achilles.
00:28:14Three to five months.
00:28:16Yeah, yeah, six months.
00:28:16Yeah.
00:28:17I think I might wait and listen to Tam's prediction, how it's going to go on the board.
00:28:22You know, and then maybe make my mind up.
00:28:24Yeah.
00:28:25This is, of course, talking tactics with Cara and Tam.
00:28:28But can I just say that everybody's talking about Celtic.
00:28:32Yeah.
00:28:33I think those three players...
00:28:34Oh, definitely.
00:28:35Oh, Cameron Vickers, yeah.
00:28:37You would expect Harts to be pinning Celtic back at certain parts of the game.
00:28:42You need your best players back in there to defend.
00:28:44Obviously, Johnson.
00:28:46So, it's a makeshift back four.
00:28:48Who are you picking in the back four?
00:28:50I don't know.
00:28:51I mean, you could go with youth or experience.
00:28:54I don't know how he's going to compensate Cameron Vickers.
00:28:59I mean, he's a leader on the part.
00:29:00You know, I don't think they've got anybody else like that to come in.
00:29:03So, it could be a young back four.
00:29:05It could be experienced.
00:29:08I don't know.
00:29:08I really don't know, Peter.
00:29:09Yeah.
00:29:10I can't put my finger out.
00:29:11And the strange thing is, you'd think...
00:29:13Peter, I wonder if there's a possibility that Celtic go to a back three.
00:29:19Give me the back three.
00:29:21Scales, Trusty and Donovan.
00:29:23Scales, Trusty and...
00:29:25Dane Murray.
00:29:26Murray.
00:29:26Yeah.
00:29:27Play Ralson right wing back, Tierney left wing back.
00:29:29Play a three in the middle and play Negrin off Kenny.
00:29:31That's just something that I'm just looking at the personnel that they could possibly do.
00:29:36We all keep saying Tierney's a centre-half with Scotland.
00:29:39I can't...
00:29:41I don't see it, but...
00:29:41I can't see him playing a three.
00:29:43Listen, I might be wrong.
00:29:44I wouldn't fancy a three.
00:29:46At times, I don't think he would play a three either.
00:29:48Yeah, and remember, by the way, at times, you'll be hoping...
00:29:52If that was the case, you'd be hoping that Ralson and Tierney were going towards the
00:29:59Hart's goal, whereas they've got Harry Milne and Kisaridis who are in better form.
00:30:04It's a big call.
00:30:05I don't...
00:30:06You know, listen, it's down to Brendan if he's able to change things.
00:30:08I actually never thought I'd see Brendan Rodgers go to, but he did go to it on Sunday against
00:30:12Dundee.
00:30:12Yeah.
00:30:13And he's done it early in the season as well, so...
00:30:15He might.
00:30:15A couple of times this season.
00:30:16Not started off that way, but just in-game.
00:30:19He's changed it, so...
00:30:20It's just a possibility with the injuries that Celtic have got.
00:30:23I said everybody's got a conundrum with Celtic, but listen, having been in Edinburgh for a
00:30:28long period of time, you know, and lots of Hart's fans are friends of mine, they're certainly
00:30:33not talking about titles, but they're confident.
00:30:37The confidence is from the evidence that they can see in their eyes away from home and at
00:30:42home.
00:30:43This is what Derek McInnes said about the big game coming up.
00:30:47Obviously, as you can imagine, the Hart's boss keen just to try and keep a lid on the excitement.
00:30:52Our fight is with ourselves.
00:30:54The season's still only eight games in.
00:31:00It's very early, whether you're in good form or whether you're in poorer form.
00:31:03For any team, there's still so much of the season ahead where you can...
00:31:08The time to judge your team is at the end of the season, not after eight games.
00:31:11But I do think people can see there's plenty of encouragement being given by what the players
00:31:15are given, and it's important we just keep trying to tap into that.
00:31:18But a lot's been made of the recruitment and all the rest of it.
00:31:24I think I need to say that half the team every week, more than half the team, is players that
00:31:28have been here when I inherited.
00:31:31Players who were already in the building and are producing good form.
00:31:36Our net spend is probably only a couple of hundred thousand.
00:31:38We sell pen rice and we bring some players in, but the recruitment's been so smart and so
00:31:45strategic that we're not spending fortunes to get ourselves in the position.
00:31:49We're in the position because of a real connection with the fans, a connection with the club, good
00:31:56work being done and working really smartly.
00:32:00Yeah, it's mouth-watering.
00:32:04You know, I've never looked forward to a game in quite a while of the domestic scene.
00:32:09It's one of those ones that's got the Hearts fans buzzing.
00:32:13And basically because you could almost pick the Hearts side, you know, from one to eleven.
00:32:18And the good news for Hearts fans is suddenly he's got, as you, the Brazilians, suddenly
00:32:24pushing to the forefront of his mind as well as an option from the bench.
00:32:27I've been impressed at points with the depth that Hearts have got this season and the ability
00:32:33to change it from the bench when it's not been working within games to be able to go
00:32:37and change it up a bit and get the result required.
00:32:41Both Derek McInneson and Stuart Finlay this week said that this is probably the biggest test
00:32:46that they'll face this season.
00:32:48I think if they come out of this one on top, they go eight points clear at any point in a
00:32:53campaign, regardless of how early it is.
00:32:55And we know it's still early.
00:32:57It's not an insignificant number.
00:32:59That is a fantastic cushion to have at this stage of the season.
00:33:03We saw what happened last term when Aberdeen went on that run.
00:33:07I don't envisage Hearts folding in anywhere near the same way.
00:33:10I think they've got better players and they've certainly got a bit of depth this season.
00:33:15It's gearing up for a prediction.
00:33:17At this time, earlier in the week, you would probably have had maybe a different predicament.
00:33:25Maybe your prediction would have been different injuries.
00:33:30The way things are looking, does it change your thought process, Ruffy?
00:33:32I think it has to.
00:33:33The three players that are dropping out are big, big players for Celtic.
00:33:37We're all sitting here guessing what he's going to do.
00:33:39He'll know exactly what he's going to do.
00:33:41He's probably decided on it right now.
00:33:43Right now, you can't take anything away from this Hearts side for what they've done.
00:33:47They've gained the points when necessary.
00:33:50They are a settled side.
00:33:51You're right.
00:33:52They're going into the game with a lot of confidence.
00:33:54I think their two centre-halves are very, very impressive.
00:33:59I'm looking at the games against the right good sides.
00:34:02The Hibs game.
00:34:04Nothing each for a long time.
00:34:05I think Hibs had a couple of chances to win the game.
00:34:08Never took it.
00:34:09Hearts scored late on.
00:34:10For me, that's a barometer of how good they are when they come up against a good side.
00:34:15I think Celtic are a better side than Hibs.
00:34:18I went through one Celtic at the beginning of the week, but probably with the injuries,
00:34:22I think Celtic would settle for a draw.
00:34:26Yes.
00:34:27Celtic might settle for a draw in some quarters.
00:34:31Brendan Rodgers were looking for the win.
00:34:32Of course.
00:34:33What about you?
00:34:33You've already fudged the last question.
00:34:35No, I was 2-1 at the beginning of the week.
00:34:37I've changed my mind now.
00:34:38I'm going one each because of the injuries.
00:34:40Yeah, okay.
00:34:41You haven't been able to call the back four.
00:34:43You've fudged that.
00:34:44You've had to drag the 1-1 out of you.
00:34:47I don't know.
00:34:47I think he'd play the boy Donovan before Ralston.
00:34:50He put Donovan on last night before Ralston.
00:34:52Yeah.
00:34:53I like the boy Donovan.
00:34:55I think it's a big call to play Donovan and Murray in a back four.
00:34:59I don't know if he's going to play Murray.
00:35:01With Braga and Cenk.
00:35:02I think that's a big call.
00:35:03I think you go with the safer, more experience with Ralston.
00:35:06Yeah.
00:35:06If they go a back four.
00:35:08Even if you put Trusty in, he hasn't kicked the ball.
00:35:10Yeah.
00:35:10I mean, Trusty's been out in the cold.
00:35:12I mean, it's a weird one.
00:35:14Last season, he was really, really good.
00:35:16This could be a game that potentially suits Trusty.
00:35:18It might be under pressure.
00:35:19A lot of balls into the box.
00:35:20Crosses.
00:35:21Yeah, he was really good last season.
00:35:22I thought he was decent last season.
00:35:23I thought he was good in European games and Champions League games.
00:35:25This could be a game where it suits him.
00:35:28Not that dense park game.
00:35:29Not that dense park game, no.
00:35:33He's going to come in for the cold.
00:35:34But I wouldn't play two left-sided centre-halves.
00:35:36I said that earlier.
00:35:37I think there's no balance there.
00:35:40You're playing three left-sided players in the back four.
00:35:43Not for me.
00:35:44So I think he'll maybe bring the boy Dane Murray in and play Ralston.
00:35:47Simpson Pusey coming from the cold.
00:35:49Who?
00:35:50That's another one.
00:35:51And you've got, isn't Rocky still there?
00:35:53Where's he?
00:35:54He's gone.
00:35:54Is he away?
00:35:56He's away.
00:35:56Shin Yamada.
00:35:57Is he still at Celtic?
00:36:00You know Mick McCarthy's gone as well, don't you?
00:36:02No, but I mean, Shin Yamada.
00:36:04Obviously, he's not in the European squad, but there's another one that's just disappeared.
00:36:07Unless he's injured.
00:36:08I think the other great thing about it this season, because of the madness of Scottish football,
00:36:12this programme, we've never disagreed so much over the course of every programme.
00:36:17It's been fantastic.
00:36:19Sometimes we've made statements, and we're all looking at each other and thinking,
00:36:23different things, which is brilliant about it.
00:36:27That's with the madness of Scottish football.
00:36:29So with that in mind, I'm looking at a harsh side that I've seen regularly this season.
00:36:35I've watched Celtic from afar, from a crane outside.
00:36:41What do you predict?
00:36:44I'm going to go for one each, Peter.
00:36:49I hate sitting in the fence, but I think it's a result that would possibly suit both.
00:36:54I think it's a game Celtic cannot afford to lose.
00:36:56They can't afford to lose this game and go eight points behind.
00:36:59Hearts, still unbeaten.
00:37:02Still a five-point gap.
00:37:03I think I wouldn't be too unhappy with that.
00:37:05I think Celtic, the injuries they've got, take a draw.
00:37:07So I'm going to go for one each, sadly.
00:37:10I know you're waiting for a better score.
00:37:12Great questions are now asked of the Hearts team.
00:37:14Are you good enough to go eight points?
00:37:16Because the pressure now has flipped a little bit.
00:37:20You know, when you look at it, I was looking at some of the great stats.
00:37:23I think it was 1959-60 that Hearts last won the league.
00:37:26Since then, they've been runners-up five times.
00:37:29And I can remember, because it was the first day,
00:37:31I can remember moving into my flat in Leith,
00:37:34and the first day I moved into Edinburgh
00:37:36was the day that Dundee beat Hearts up at Den's Park
00:37:40and Celtic won emphatically against St Mirren.
00:37:44And that's the closest they've come to winning the title
00:37:48in a long, long time.
00:37:51Now, I'm not saying they're going to win the title,
00:37:53but I'm saying that this side has got something about it.
00:37:57The fans will be there.
00:37:58It'll be bouncing.
00:37:59I'm sticking by my guns from the start of the week.
00:38:02I'm there to be shot at.
00:38:03Hearts will win 3-1.
00:38:06Celtic will be encouraged by what happened last night,
00:38:09by the fact that they created chances against Dundee.
00:38:13There was nothing about them.
00:38:14You just couldn't see that surge for goals.
00:38:17They'll feel a bit better about themselves
00:38:19in the aftermath of that win.
00:38:21But like you, I fancy Hearts.
00:38:24I really, I think Celtic are weaker
00:38:28with the players who have gone out of the team
00:38:30and coming back in there.
00:38:31I just wonder too
00:38:32about how they'll cope with the intensity
00:38:35of the environment at Tyne Castle.
00:38:39And I'm going to say Hearts to 1-2-1.
00:38:42Okay.
00:38:43There you are.
00:38:44It's a fantastically different...
00:38:46I think that's probably the first time ever in this panel
00:38:49that nobody's picked Celtic to beat Hearts in a game.
00:38:52You're absolutely right.
00:38:53And it just shows you how far they've come along.
00:38:56And I don't even think Tony Bloom,
00:38:58even in his wildest dreams,
00:38:59would be looking and saying,
00:39:00listen, he's made the statement 10 years
00:39:02and everybody's looked.
00:39:02But, you know, I've called it,
00:39:04I think they'll finish second.
00:39:06And now, you know,
00:39:08you wait till you see the media,
00:39:12the fans and everything else.
00:39:15If Hearts were to win the game on Sunday,
00:39:17suddenly it just goes into overdrive.
00:39:20Honestly, you will not believe the hype around them.
00:39:23And that's when you start to see
00:39:24whether players can handle it.
00:39:26If Hearts were to win,
00:39:28it would be unbelievable.
00:39:29The focus of attention on them would be unbelievable.
00:39:31And then you'd have what Celtic and Rangers get
00:39:34usually every season
00:39:35is teams thinking,
00:39:37we're going to take them out.
00:39:39I can't wait until Monday if Hearts win.
00:39:41What were you all saying?
00:39:43And you're saying,
00:39:44I'm not saying they'll win the league,
00:39:46I think if Hearts win,
00:39:48every one of us will say that Hearts can win the league.
00:39:50On Monday?
00:39:51Yeah.
00:39:52Well, let's wait and see.
00:39:54Aberdeen.
00:39:56Mother of God Almighty.
00:39:58Rank rotten.
00:39:59I mean, humiliated.
00:40:01Embarrassing.
00:40:03And I never for one minute thought
00:40:06that the two games that they'd won back-to-back
00:40:08was a signal that they were back.
00:40:11They were exposed at every opportunity.
00:40:14And this is where I get mixed up there,
00:40:15but they were 3-0 down after 27 minutes.
00:40:18And boy,
00:40:19it was six going on more.
00:40:21Yeah, I was flicking back and forward
00:40:23from the Celtic game
00:40:25and listening to that,
00:40:26I thought,
00:40:27for the Rangers game,
00:40:27and I just thought,
00:40:29you know,
00:40:29the first half was
00:40:31one of the most embarrassing performances
00:40:33I've ever seen for a Scottish team.
00:40:34I think, honestly,
00:40:35that first half performance,
00:40:37A.K. Athens could have been
00:40:38six or seven or nothing up at halftime.
00:40:40Like, they battered Aberdeen.
00:40:41And I think, you know,
00:40:43Aberdeen getting away with six
00:40:44is a result for them.
00:40:45And I think it just increases the pressure
00:40:48back in Jimmy Tallinn.
00:40:49I think that's a real poor performance,
00:40:50a terrible result.
00:40:52And they've got Hibs at the weekend,
00:40:53you know, at home.
00:40:55The players will be hurt
00:40:56and the players will be embarrassed.
00:40:57I don't know which way it will go.
00:40:58You know,
00:40:58Hibs are going to that
00:40:59with a lot of confidence,
00:41:00but that was spineless last night
00:41:02from Aberdeen.
00:41:03And a couple of my friends
00:41:04were over there,
00:41:04Aberdeen fans,
00:41:05I think,
00:41:05left at halftime.
00:41:06You know,
00:41:06a real embarrassing performance.
00:41:08So, yeah,
00:41:09I think Jimmy Tallinn
00:41:10is now back under pressure
00:41:12by that one result.
00:41:13I mean,
00:41:14I did think,
00:41:15I actually thought
00:41:15in the back of the two results,
00:41:17you know,
00:41:17beating Dundee for nothing
00:41:18and going to St Mernin
00:41:19winning one nothing,
00:41:19I thought Aberdeen
00:41:21will start improving now,
00:41:22but that's just
00:41:22knocked him back to square one.
00:41:24Is that up there with,
00:41:25for me,
00:41:26that's up there
00:41:26with the Rangers-Brouge situation?
00:41:28Yeah,
00:41:28I think it's Aberdeen's
00:41:28heaviest defeat in Europe
00:41:30of all time.
00:41:32And did I think
00:41:33that Aberdeen
00:41:33were capable of going
00:41:34to AK Athens
00:41:34and getting a result?
00:41:35Possibly not,
00:41:36but I thought it would have
00:41:36been a close game.
00:41:38You know,
00:41:38to go over there
00:41:39and get spanked six-nothing
00:41:39is not an embarrassing
00:41:40for Aberdeen,
00:41:41it's embarrassing
00:41:41for Scottish football.
00:41:43So,
00:41:44yeah,
00:41:44I just think that
00:41:46that result,
00:41:47that performance
00:41:48puts Jimmy to lean
00:41:49back under the gun
00:41:51in terms of pressure.
00:41:52Yeah,
00:41:52Kenny,
00:41:52who's a big Dunds fan
00:41:54and regularly comments
00:41:55and obviously,
00:41:56there's lots of Aberdeen fans
00:41:57who give us their insight
00:41:58and we value
00:42:00everybody's opinion
00:42:01on these things.
00:42:05Kenny says,
00:42:06could have been ten easily,
00:42:07Peter,
00:42:07but we'll probably
00:42:08go and beat Hibs.
00:42:10Ever the optimist,
00:42:11I'm going to read out
00:42:11Brian's as well
00:42:12who says,
00:42:13Peter as usual
00:42:14with his anti-Celtic comments.
00:42:16Brian,
00:42:17I think you only have
00:42:18to listen to fans
00:42:20who actually watch Celtic
00:42:21on a regular basis
00:42:22to realise
00:42:23how angry they are
00:42:25with what's going on
00:42:26at Celtic.
00:42:27Never let your eyes
00:42:28deceive you
00:42:28is our catchphrase here
00:42:30when you watch teams
00:42:31and their performances.
00:42:33Aberdeen for me,
00:42:35I just,
00:42:36I mean,
00:42:36you can't criticise
00:42:38that this is a,
00:42:38this is a crazy,
00:42:40crazy position here,
00:42:41but you can't criticise
00:42:42the board,
00:42:43he's backed them.
00:42:44No.
00:42:45And he's now saying
00:42:46that the players
00:42:47have to learn for a bit
00:42:48and they'll get better
00:42:48by that experience.
00:42:50Generally,
00:42:50when you get beat
00:42:516-0,
00:42:51you go the opposite way,
00:42:53you don't really improve,
00:42:55you know,
00:42:55but I'm like Tam,
00:42:57you know,
00:42:58it's up to him
00:42:58to organise this team
00:43:00not to get beat
00:43:006-0.
00:43:01He's obviously
00:43:02tactical.
00:43:02They were far too open,
00:43:03Peter,
00:43:03as well.
00:43:04He's tactical,
00:43:04certainly no gore
00:43:05in some aspects
00:43:06of the game
00:43:07because some
00:43:07of the results
00:43:08they've had
00:43:08is frightening.
00:43:11What I'm just
00:43:11trying to work out
00:43:12is Tam's two pals
00:43:13when they left
00:43:14did they just get
00:43:15a bus back
00:43:15to East Kilbride
00:43:16or did they hang on
00:43:17for a full day?
00:43:19No,
00:43:20they're not
00:43:20for East Kilbride
00:43:21but one of them
00:43:22did send me a video
00:43:22at half time
00:43:23walking out the stadium
00:43:24and he was lucky
00:43:24because the Aberdeen
00:43:26fans get kept in
00:43:27an hour after the game
00:43:27as well,
00:43:28which is even worse
00:43:28if they're getting hammered.
00:43:30I think your reporter
00:43:31Kobe is still there
00:43:32with his mates
00:43:33it's hard to watch
00:43:35there's no excuses.
00:43:37It's not that I'm
00:43:37not a fan of
00:43:38Jimmy Tallinn
00:43:39I just look at
00:43:40the evidence
00:43:40and I just do not
00:43:42think long term
00:43:43he is the answer.
00:43:44It was abject
00:43:45last night
00:43:45I think it was
00:43:46probably humiliating
00:43:47if you're watching
00:43:48that as an Aberdeen
00:43:49fan you are
00:43:50watching it
00:43:51through the cracks
00:43:51of your fingers.
00:43:53You also have to
00:43:54see now
00:43:55how do they respond
00:43:56and react
00:43:57to that
00:43:58because this time
00:43:58a year ago
00:43:59when they lost
00:43:59to Celtic
00:44:00at Hamden
00:44:01when they'd been
00:44:02on such a good run
00:44:03it was the
00:44:04catalyst
00:44:05for just going
00:44:06into freefall
00:44:07it seemed to
00:44:08spook them
00:44:09in every sense
00:44:10it just seemed
00:44:10to knock them
00:44:11for six
00:44:12in terms of
00:44:12confidence and belief
00:44:13they can't afford
00:44:14that kind of
00:44:15similar dent
00:44:17to their confidence
00:44:18now
00:44:18they have to
00:44:19respond immediately
00:44:20I just wonder
00:44:22now
00:44:23how much pressure
00:44:24Jimmy Tallinn
00:44:25is under
00:44:26and
00:44:27when do you
00:44:28start running
00:44:28out of road?
00:44:29I think
00:44:30he's been
00:44:30very very
00:44:31lucky
00:44:31that the
00:44:32owner has
00:44:32been told
00:44:33you can't
00:44:33keep sacking
00:44:35managers
00:44:35you know
00:44:36he's fell
00:44:37into the trap
00:44:37now if I
00:44:38sack another
00:44:38manager
00:44:39everybody's
00:44:39going to
00:44:39go
00:44:40but I
00:44:40think he
00:44:41has given
00:44:41them time
00:44:42and he's
00:44:42been well
00:44:43backed
00:44:43in both
00:44:43windows
00:44:43he has
00:44:44been given
00:44:45more
00:44:45than the
00:44:46other ones
00:44:46that he
00:44:47sacked
00:44:47very quickly
00:44:48I was
00:44:48told
00:44:49emphatically
00:44:50if they
00:44:50lost the
00:44:51Scottish Cup
00:44:51final
00:44:52to Celtic
00:44:53he was
00:44:53still going
00:44:54to be
00:44:54backed
00:44:54and that
00:44:55was on
00:44:56the most
00:44:56horrendous
00:44:57run ever
00:44:57but the
00:44:58Cup
00:44:58final
00:44:58brought
00:44:59him
00:44:59that
00:45:00credibility
00:45:00again
00:45:01almost
00:45:02giving them
00:45:02the sense
00:45:03of optimism
00:45:03for the
00:45:04new season
00:45:05but I
00:45:05just don't
00:45:06see it
00:45:06but
00:45:06they're up
00:45:07against
00:45:07the
00:45:08Hibs side
00:45:08that are
00:45:09sitting
00:45:09nicely
00:45:09in third
00:45:10place
00:45:10albeit
00:45:11still off
00:45:12the pace
00:45:13of
00:45:13Hearts
00:45:14and Celtic
00:45:15but
00:45:16David
00:45:16Grey
00:45:16will be
00:45:18filled
00:45:19with optimism
00:45:19as he
00:45:20takes his
00:45:21side to
00:45:21Pataudry
00:45:21I think
00:45:22the league
00:45:23is what it
00:45:24is
00:45:24I think
00:45:24a few
00:45:24managers
00:45:25I've heard
00:45:25them comment
00:45:25on it
00:45:26as well
00:45:26I think
00:45:27it's improving
00:45:27all the time
00:45:28when you look
00:45:29at all the
00:45:29teams that are
00:45:29in it
00:45:30there's a lot
00:45:31of teams
00:45:32that have added
00:45:33a lot of
00:45:33athletes into
00:45:34their group
00:45:34it's getting
00:45:36better all the
00:45:36time
00:45:37so there's
00:45:38no easy
00:45:38games
00:45:38it's hard
00:45:39to win
00:45:39games
00:45:39of football
00:45:40everyone's
00:45:40seeing that
00:45:40you look
00:45:41at how
00:45:41well done
00:45:41they've done
00:45:41against Celtic
00:45:42they deserve
00:45:43their winning
00:45:44the weekend
00:45:44so every
00:45:46game's hard
00:45:47every game's
00:45:47hard to win
00:45:48it's hard to
00:45:48win games
00:45:48of football
00:45:49at any level
00:45:49but especially
00:45:50this season
00:45:51it's going to
00:45:51be as it is
00:45:52pretty much
00:45:53every year
00:45:53really really
00:45:55tight
00:45:55and it is
00:45:56about trying
00:45:57to put a
00:45:57wee run
00:45:57together
00:45:57when you can
00:45:58you just
00:45:59touched on
00:45:59it there
00:45:59what sort
00:46:00of
00:46:00do you
00:46:00expect
00:46:01other
00:46:01people
00:46:02this weekend
00:46:02they've
00:46:04obviously
00:46:04got a
00:46:04very good
00:46:04squad
00:46:05I know
00:46:05they've
00:46:05got the
00:46:05game
00:46:05Thursday
00:46:06night
00:46:06we'll
00:46:06look forward
00:46:06to
00:46:07watching
00:46:07that
00:46:07you want
00:46:09your
00:46:09Scottish
00:46:09clubs
00:46:09to do
00:46:09well
00:46:10in
00:46:10Europe
00:46:10but
00:46:10one
00:46:10island
00:46:11obviously
00:46:11I was
00:46:12going up
00:46:12there
00:46:12on
00:46:12Sunday
00:46:13but
00:46:14they've
00:46:14developed
00:46:15a really
00:46:15strong
00:46:15squad
00:46:16a lot
00:46:16of
00:46:16quality
00:46:16in
00:46:16their
00:46:16team
00:46:17team
00:46:17OK
00:46:18he says
00:46:19it's
00:46:19going to
00:46:19be hard
00:46:19and the
00:46:20league
00:46:20is going
00:46:20to be
00:46:20hard
00:46:21but I'm
00:46:21going to
00:46:21say something
00:46:22slightly
00:46:22controversial
00:46:23here on
00:46:23that point
00:46:24Scottish
00:46:26football
00:46:26fans love
00:46:27what they're
00:46:28watching
00:46:29they love
00:46:30the competitive
00:46:30nature of it
00:46:31the unpredictability
00:46:32at the moment
00:46:32anyway
00:46:33but the standard
00:46:34of Scottish
00:46:35football has
00:46:36dropped
00:46:36dramatically
00:46:37our performances
00:46:39in Europe
00:46:39are abysmal
00:46:40something is
00:46:41seriously wrong
00:46:42with what we
00:46:43are playing
00:46:44it might be
00:46:44exciting
00:46:45it might be
00:46:45unpredictable
00:46:46but it's
00:46:47abysmal
00:46:47when you
00:46:48consider
00:46:48what we
00:46:48are doing
00:46:49in Europe
00:46:49yeah
00:46:50sadly
00:46:51Peter
00:46:51I really
00:46:52mean this
00:46:52because I'm
00:46:53a real
00:46:54champion
00:46:54of Scottish
00:46:54football
00:46:54you know
00:46:55that
00:46:55but I
00:46:55totally
00:46:55agree
00:46:56with you
00:46:56I just
00:46:56think the
00:46:57standard
00:46:57across the
00:46:58board
00:46:58you look at
00:46:59the results
00:47:00have been
00:47:00really really
00:47:00poor
00:47:01Celtic getting
00:47:02beat from
00:47:02a team
00:47:02from Kazakhstan
00:47:03in the
00:47:04Champions League
00:47:04OK they won
00:47:05last night
00:47:05they've got
00:47:05four points
00:47:06Rangers have
00:47:07bottomed the
00:47:07Europa League
00:47:08after three
00:47:08games
00:47:09bottom
00:47:09stone
00:47:09last
00:47:10it's
00:47:11incredible
00:47:11when you look
00:47:12at Rangers
00:47:12got to the
00:47:13final
00:47:13not that
00:47:14long ago
00:47:14Aberdeen
00:47:15had bought
00:47:15me the
00:47:15conference
00:47:16lost nine
00:47:16goals in
00:47:17two games
00:47:17so I
00:47:18think when
00:47:19you're looking
00:47:19at the
00:47:19Scottish
00:47:19teams and
00:47:20the performances
00:47:20sadly I've
00:47:21got to agree
00:47:22with you
00:47:22I think it's
00:47:23competitive
00:47:23because there's
00:47:25not much
00:47:25a muchness
00:47:25between
00:47:26I'm looking
00:47:26at the
00:47:27table right
00:47:27now
00:47:27Hibs are
00:47:28in third
00:47:28they've won
00:47:29two games
00:47:29out of eight
00:47:30they've got
00:47:3111 points
00:47:31Livingston
00:47:32are bottom
00:47:33five points
00:47:34behind
00:47:34so there's
00:47:35only a couple
00:47:36of wins
00:47:36away from
00:47:36bottom to
00:47:37third place
00:47:38so in terms
00:47:39of competitiveness
00:47:40I agree with
00:47:40David Gray but I
00:47:41can't agree with him
00:47:43I totally disagree
00:47:43with that
00:47:44give me a
00:47:44prediction
00:47:45I'm going to
00:47:47go for two
00:47:47won't you
00:47:47Hibs
00:47:48Ruffy
00:47:49one each
00:47:50are you just
00:47:52going to
00:47:52give him
00:47:53one each
00:47:53no I'll do
00:47:54one
00:47:54two nil
00:47:55Hibs
00:47:55two nil
00:47:55Hibs
00:47:56if it's
00:47:58I'm going to
00:47:58go
00:47:59you're having
00:48:00a shocker
00:48:00today
00:48:00just give
00:48:01a game
00:48:01one each
00:48:02let's wait
00:48:04Monday and
00:48:04see who's
00:48:04right
00:48:05yeah
00:48:05absolutely
00:48:06somebody
00:48:07was rambling
00:48:08on about
00:48:08Motherwell
00:48:09last week
00:48:09look what
00:48:10happened
00:48:10yeah
00:48:11I think
00:48:14we were
00:48:14going to
00:48:15go out
00:48:15and we're
00:48:15going to
00:48:15have sauce
00:48:16with our
00:48:17steaks
00:48:17Ali
00:48:18but you
00:48:18came a
00:48:19cropper
00:48:19I think
00:48:20how much
00:48:20did she
00:48:21cost us
00:48:21515
00:48:22quid
00:48:22oh
00:48:23bloody hell
00:48:24chicken feed
00:48:25to you and
00:48:25Ruffy but
00:48:26it's big money
00:48:27for me and Ali
00:48:27it was a night
00:48:28out to be honest
00:48:29with you
00:48:29it was a
00:48:31chance for
00:48:31some of Ali's
00:48:32blame Jens
00:48:34blame me
00:48:35absolutely
00:48:35oh well
00:48:36it was a chance
00:48:36for some of your
00:48:36family to
00:48:37have extra
00:48:392020
00:48:39and Buckfast
00:48:41but
00:48:41nevertheless
00:48:42it's
00:48:44I'm going to
00:48:45go 2-1
00:48:45Hibs
00:48:46yeah
00:48:46under pressure
00:48:47on the
00:48:48Monday
00:48:48if they
00:48:49lose
00:48:49Aberdeen
00:48:50yeah
00:48:50yeah I do
00:48:51I do
00:48:51think
00:48:51question
00:48:52yeah
00:48:52okay
00:48:53just before
00:48:54we go
00:48:54into the
00:48:54next batch
00:48:55of games
00:48:55give us
00:48:56your prediction
00:48:56on it
00:48:56you know
00:48:57Kenny's
00:48:58an optimist
00:48:59is an
00:48:59Aberdeen
00:48:59fan
00:49:00Aurora
00:49:00so many
00:49:01others
00:49:01as well
00:49:01but give
00:49:03us your
00:49:03thoughts
00:49:04on
00:49:04Scotland's
00:49:06teams
00:49:07in European
00:49:08football
00:49:08are we being
00:49:08too harsh
00:49:09the standard
00:49:10remember the
00:49:11coefficient
00:49:12it's going to
00:49:12be even more
00:49:13difficult for
00:49:14our clubs
00:49:14to get into
00:49:16any of those
00:49:17leagues because
00:49:18we're going to
00:49:18have to play
00:49:18qualifiers
00:49:19the more we
00:49:21drop down
00:49:21the coefficient
00:49:22and it's not
00:49:23looking good at
00:49:23the moment
00:49:24so give us

00:50:58we've
00:50:59cranked

00:51:16I think the
00:51:17prize itself
00:51:18was absolutely
00:51:18superb
00:51:19yeah obviously
00:51:20haven't told them
00:51:21Tom might have
00:51:21to go with them
00:51:22yeah that would
00:51:23be a real
00:51:24listen to be
00:51:25honest with you
00:51:25imagine all of us
00:51:26going there
00:51:26to the Champions
00:51:27League final
00:51:28it'd be absolutely
00:51:29fantastic
00:51:29I'd look forward
00:51:31to it
00:51:31the Canada Jets
00:51:32forget the World
00:51:32Cup
00:51:33yeah absolutely
00:51:34the World Cup's
00:51:35the key
00:51:36for us Tom
00:51:36yeah absolutely
00:51:38as long as it
00:51:41doesn't turn out
00:51:41like Germany
00:51:42I'll be delighted
00:51:43Dundee United
00:51:44against St Mirren
00:51:45roughy of the
00:51:47games on the
00:51:48Saturday
00:51:48so suddenly
00:51:50you're looking
00:51:51at a Saints
00:51:52side that have
00:51:53dropped off
00:51:54I mean we're
00:51:55usually waxing
00:51:56lyrical about
00:51:56and what's
00:51:57happened
00:51:57I think every
00:51:58team at some
00:51:58stages of the
00:51:59season goes
00:51:59through two or
00:52:01three games
00:52:01where they don't
00:52:02win
00:52:02I've been
00:52:03impressed with
00:52:04Dundee United
00:52:04this year
00:52:05I think it'll
00:52:06be a good
00:52:06game
00:52:07I'm going to
00:52:08go one each
00:52:08yeah absolutely
00:52:11thanks for that
00:52:11roughy
00:52:12you're completely
00:52:13and utterly
00:52:14useless
00:52:15I'm not going
00:52:16one each
00:52:16we have a
00:52:19mannequin over
00:52:19there
00:52:20we'll be bringing
00:52:21the mannequin
00:52:21in shortly
00:52:22Dundee United
00:52:22to win 2-0
00:52:23okay
00:52:25Dundee United
00:52:25to win 2-0
00:52:26when you look
00:52:28at St Mirren's
00:52:29Forum
00:52:29Ali
00:52:30it hasn't been
00:52:31great
00:52:31and again
00:52:33I don't think
00:52:33the Saints fans
00:52:34are overly
00:52:35worried at the
00:52:36moment but
00:52:36they're certainly
00:52:37surprised by what
00:52:37they're watching
00:52:39I'd agree with
00:52:40that I think
00:52:40they've set the
00:52:41bar so high
00:52:42across recent
00:52:43seasons with
00:52:43the top six
00:52:45placements just
00:52:46punching above
00:52:46their weight
00:52:47there's an
00:52:49expectancy
00:52:50everything changes
00:52:51once you have
00:52:51a taste of
00:52:53that it just
00:52:54sets a precedent
00:52:54have they been
00:52:55unlucky
00:52:55I think they
00:52:56have been
00:52:56unlucky in
00:52:57moments when
00:52:58you look at
00:52:58games there's
00:53:00definitely been
00:53:00flashes of that
00:53:02I fancied
00:53:03Dundee United
00:53:04I fancied
00:53:05Dundee United
00:53:05at Tannadise
00:53:06quite strongly
00:53:07I don't see
00:53:08enough in
00:53:09St Mirren to
00:53:10go and
00:53:10certainly not
00:53:11get three
00:53:12points
00:53:12I'm going to
00:53:13say 2-1
00:53:14Dundee United
00:53:14I'm with you
00:53:16on that
00:53:16I think Dundee
00:53:16United will
00:53:17just edge
00:53:18this
00:53:18Tam what's
00:53:19your take
00:53:19on it
00:53:19I agree
00:53:20I think
00:53:21Dundee United
00:53:21have just got
00:53:22a little bit
00:53:22more quality
00:53:23in the final
00:53:23third
00:53:24I was impressed
00:53:25with them
00:53:25against Rangers
00:53:25they've scored
00:53:26two great
00:53:26goals
00:53:26I just think
00:53:28they've got a
00:53:28wee bit of
00:53:28extra quality
00:53:29in that final
00:53:29third which
00:53:30might edge a
00:53:30tight game
00:53:31give us your
00:53:33thoughts on
00:53:34that
00:53:35United fans
00:53:36and St Mirren
00:53:37fans
00:53:37still mid-table
00:53:38still in a
00:53:40position where
00:53:40suddenly one
00:53:41win
00:53:42as Tam has
00:53:43mentioned
00:53:43it's so tight
00:53:44that one win
00:53:44in St Mirren
00:53:45could be again
00:53:45as Stephen
00:53:47Robinson
00:53:48continually manages
00:53:49to do
00:53:49just edge them
00:53:50into that top
00:53:51half of the
00:53:51table
00:53:52and all the
00:53:52worries
00:53:52tend to
00:53:54as Ali
00:53:55uses her
00:53:55catchphrase
00:53:56dissipate
00:53:57and porous
00:53:58are your two
00:53:58favourite words
00:53:59this week
00:53:59Ali
00:54:00we've been
00:54:03listening to
00:54:04you regularly
00:54:05basically you
00:54:08were porous
00:54:09as a goalie
00:54:09yeah absolutely
00:54:10Ruffy thought
00:54:13porous was going
00:54:13to take his
00:54:14place in the
00:54:15central position
00:54:16for Celtic
00:54:16at the weekend
00:54:17for Tynecastle
00:54:18but Falkirk
00:54:20this time against
00:54:22Dundee
00:54:23now
00:54:23Ruffy
00:54:25if you're a
00:54:26Dundee fan
00:54:26suddenly there's
00:54:27optimism
00:54:29about what's
00:54:31happened against
00:54:31Celtic
00:54:32they're seeing
00:54:33those little
00:54:33green shoots
00:54:35that Stephen
00:54:35Presley was
00:54:36trying to tell
00:54:37everybody
00:54:37that he could
00:54:38see
00:54:38yeah Stephen
00:54:38Presley
00:54:39has been
00:54:39telling her
00:54:39that if
00:54:40they defeat
00:54:40his players
00:54:42are getting
00:54:42better
00:54:42they can see
00:54:44where they
00:54:44want to be
00:54:44and where
00:54:45he wants
00:54:45to get
00:54:46them to
00:54:46and last
00:54:47week
00:54:47epitomised
00:54:48that
00:54:48that's where
00:54:48they reached
00:54:49it
00:54:49but again
00:54:50you've got
00:54:50Falkirk
00:54:51going away
00:54:51to Motherwell
00:54:52getting hammered
00:54:52in the first
00:54:53half
00:54:53coming away
00:54:54with a win
00:54:54so this one
00:54:55is two teams
00:54:56that at this
00:54:57moment in time
00:54:57are unpredictable
00:54:59yeah I mean
00:55:00honestly I
00:55:01thought Falkirk
00:55:03were going to
00:55:03be on the
00:55:04end of us
00:55:04I mean an
00:55:05absolute spanking
00:55:06against Motherwell
00:55:07and then
00:55:09Motherwell's
00:55:09problems came
00:55:10back to haunt
00:55:11them once more
00:55:11yeah absolutely
00:55:13you know
00:55:13can't seem to put
00:55:14a 90 minute
00:55:14performance
00:55:15together
00:55:15Peter
00:55:15that's a
00:55:15problem
00:55:16you've
00:55:16obviously
00:55:16seen a lot
00:55:17of them
00:55:17but
00:55:17they give
00:55:19up
00:55:19the first
00:55:20half
00:55:20or maybe
00:55:20an hour
00:55:21they're good
00:55:21and then half
00:55:22an hour
00:55:22they're poor
00:55:22they can't
00:55:23really seem
00:55:24to put
00:55:24the hearts
00:55:25game
00:55:253-0 up
00:55:27do you know
00:55:27what the problem
00:55:27is Tam
00:55:28is quite simply
00:55:29they run out of
00:55:30steam run out of
00:55:30gas with the
00:55:30high press
00:55:31he's not happy
00:55:32that you're a
00:55:32little bit prickly
00:55:33with me when I
00:55:33suggested that to
00:55:34him but I did
00:55:34suggest to him
00:55:35that the teams
00:55:36that were playing
00:55:37with him you've
00:55:37got to give
00:55:37credit to
00:55:38managers
00:55:38managers don't
00:55:39just sit back
00:55:40and go look at
00:55:41Motherwell they're
00:55:41absolutely fantastic
00:55:42David Martindale
00:55:43certainly won't
00:55:43well no that's
00:55:44the point
00:55:44what happens is
00:55:45managers actually
00:55:46turn around and
00:55:47say as John
00:55:47McGlynn did
00:55:48well wait a minute
00:55:48we need to
00:55:49change this
00:55:50we need to
00:55:51actually go and
00:55:51press them
00:55:52see how they
00:55:52like it
00:55:53change it
00:55:53bring on players
00:55:54that can make
00:55:55a difference
00:55:55you know and
00:55:56suddenly you know
00:55:57when that ball
00:55:58drops at the edge
00:55:59of the box you
00:55:59need an experienced
00:56:00player who's not
00:56:00going to panic
00:56:01and there's
00:56:02Scott Arfield
00:56:02bang gets the
00:56:03winner
00:56:03but they changed
00:56:05the way they
00:56:06played and
00:56:07Motherwell who'd
00:56:07all those chances
00:56:08that is evident
00:56:10of every game
00:56:11I've seen them
00:56:11great football
00:56:12to watch
00:56:1260 minutes
00:56:13next minute
00:56:14run out of gas
00:56:15other team
00:56:16changes tactics
00:56:17gives them a
00:56:18little bit of
00:56:18their own
00:56:19medicine and
00:56:19then they lose
00:56:20yeah I think
00:56:21that's obviously
00:56:22you've summed it
00:56:23up real Peter
00:56:23I speak to a
00:56:24couple of
00:56:24Motherwell fans
00:56:24and they're just
00:56:25they can't seem
00:56:26to put a 90
00:56:27minute performance
00:56:28together and I
00:56:29think if they do
00:56:29that they will
00:56:30give somebody a
00:56:31spanking
00:56:31I remember
00:56:32watching them at
00:56:33Denz Part
00:56:34they were 1-0
00:56:34up at half
00:56:35time and really
00:56:36really looked
00:56:36well on top
00:56:38and didn't win
00:56:38the game
00:56:39so that's a
00:56:41difficult one to
00:56:41call but just
00:56:42coming back to
00:56:42Falkirk Dundee
00:56:42I think this is
00:56:43a totally different
00:56:44scenario for
00:56:45Dundee I think
00:56:46as a player
00:56:46you always raise
00:56:47your game against
00:56:48Celtic Rangers
00:56:49that game was
00:56:49live in the
00:56:50telly
00:56:50live in sky
00:56:51Dundee players
00:56:52bursting
00:56:53nothing to lose
00:56:54different game
00:56:56away to Falkirk
00:56:56bread and butter
00:56:57and I think
00:56:58Falkirk will beat
00:56:58Dundee
00:56:592-1
00:57:002-1
00:57:00I'm going to
00:57:01go 2-1
00:57:02Dundee
00:57:02what about
00:57:03you
00:57:032-1
00:57:03Falkirk
00:57:042-1
00:57:05Falkirk
00:57:05wild
00:57:06Brian Graham
00:57:06winner
00:57:07well we love
00:57:10Brian Graham
00:57:10because he comes
00:57:11into the studio
00:57:12and all our
00:57:13reporters love
00:57:14him but boy
00:57:15is he struggling
00:57:16to get the goals
00:57:17this season
00:57:18it just hasn't
00:57:18worked out
00:57:19I wonder if
00:57:20Falkirk is
00:57:21actually
00:57:21I wonder if
00:57:23the way they
00:57:23play suits
00:57:24him
00:57:24it's a step
00:57:26up again when
00:57:27you're going
00:57:27from the
00:57:27championship to
00:57:28the top flight
00:57:29coming towards
00:57:31the end of
00:57:31his career
00:57:32the demands
00:57:33of playing in
00:57:34the top flight
00:57:35are challenging
00:57:36I still think
00:57:38he's got something
00:57:38to offer
00:57:39I think you
00:57:39see that
00:57:40within games
00:57:41and within
00:57:42moments
00:57:42I think
00:57:43he'll maybe
00:57:44be utilised
00:57:44more off the
00:57:45bench rather
00:57:46as part of
00:57:47the starting
00:57:4711 but I
00:57:48think he's
00:57:48still a
00:57:49decent striker
00:57:50to have at
00:57:51their disposal
00:57:51he did a
00:57:52big part of
00:57:52Falkirk's
00:57:53won last
00:57:53week
00:57:53because
00:57:54Motherwell knew
00:57:55when the ball
00:57:55was coming
00:57:56into the box
00:57:56it was coming
00:57:57to him
00:57:57and I think
00:57:58there was
00:57:58two or three
00:57:59Motherwell players
00:58:00trying to pick
00:58:00him up
00:58:00and less
00:58:01spaces for
00:58:02Arfield
00:58:02I think
00:58:05he needs
00:58:06people to
00:58:08supply him
00:58:08he needs
00:58:09wide people
00:58:10he needs
00:58:11people putting
00:58:11quality boxes
00:58:12in the box
00:58:13he's not going
00:58:13to run away
00:58:14from anybody
00:58:14but he's
00:58:15certainly going
00:58:15to be a
00:58:16handful in
00:58:16the box
00:58:17yeah
00:58:17when you
00:58:18consider
00:58:18what he
00:58:18scored
00:58:19last
00:58:19season
00:58:19I'm
00:58:19looking
00:58:20at him
00:58:20this
00:58:20season
00:58:20he's
00:58:21got two
00:58:22goals
00:58:22and he's
00:58:23very much
00:58:24like Scott
00:58:25Arfield
00:58:25I was just
00:58:28about to say
00:58:28John McGlynn's
00:58:29using him
00:58:29experience
00:58:31within games
00:58:32and use it
00:58:33to change
00:58:33his height
00:58:34and his
00:58:35physicality
00:58:36just to
00:58:36change it
00:58:36within
00:58:37games
00:58:38but I
00:58:39am going
00:58:40to say
00:58:40Falkirk
00:58:412-1
00:58:41Livingston
00:58:43against
00:58:43Motherwell
00:58:44as we
00:58:44change
00:58:45constantly
00:58:45and I
00:58:46saw
00:58:46something
00:58:46last week
00:58:47from Falkirk
00:58:48Falkirk
00:58:51Livingston
00:58:51and Dundee
00:58:51I can't
00:58:52get away
00:58:52from those
00:58:52three
00:58:53that I
00:58:53think
00:58:53will be
00:58:53in the
00:58:53bottom
00:58:54three
00:58:54but suddenly
00:58:55it's great
00:58:57to see
00:58:57Ryan
00:58:57McGowan
00:58:58back
00:58:58he's had
00:58:58a real
00:58:59tough
00:58:59time
00:58:59and he's
00:59:01maybe not
00:59:02start this
00:59:03game
00:59:03but he's
00:59:04back in
00:59:04training
00:59:05I think
00:59:05that's a
00:59:06welcome bit
00:59:07of news
00:59:07for David
00:59:08Martindale
00:59:08but as far
00:59:09as Livingston
00:59:09against
00:59:09Motherwell
00:59:10I fear
00:59:10for Livingston
00:59:11I think
00:59:11they're
00:59:12really
00:59:12going
00:59:12to toil
00:59:12I think
00:59:13Livingston
00:59:14and Falkirk
00:59:14will be
00:59:14the two
00:59:15that will
00:59:15be battling
00:59:15at the end
00:59:16to stay
00:59:16in this
00:59:17division
00:59:17Yeah I
00:59:19think so
00:59:19far David
00:59:20Martindale
00:59:20has changed
00:59:22it up a
00:59:22wee bit
00:59:22from when
00:59:23the last
00:59:23time they
00:59:23were in
00:59:24the top
00:59:24flight
00:59:24but it's
00:59:24a tough
00:59:25ask
00:59:25you know
00:59:26what their
00:59:26budget is
00:59:27and what
00:59:28they've got
00:59:28to play
00:59:28with
00:59:29I wonder
00:59:30about
00:59:30Motherwell
00:59:31in terms
00:59:32of pressure
00:59:33accumulating
00:59:34if they don't
00:59:34go and
00:59:35get the win
00:59:36at the
00:59:37weekend
00:59:37what position
00:59:39that
00:59:39leaves them
00:59:40in
00:59:40mentally
00:59:41Livingston
00:59:42will make
00:59:43it as
00:59:43awkward
00:59:43as possible
00:59:44for them
00:59:45I don't
00:59:45think anyone
00:59:45likes playing
00:59:46through on
00:59:47that pitch
00:59:47either
00:59:47but I'm
00:59:49going to
00:59:49say Motherwell
00:59:50to win
00:59:502-1
00:59:51I'm going
00:59:52to go
00:59:53Motherwell
00:59:53to win
00:59:532-1
00:59:53I want
00:59:54to go
00:59:55one
00:59:55each
00:59:55but he'll
00:59:56not like
00:59:56me
00:59:56speak
00:59:58any
00:59:58minds
00:59:58to
00:59:59each
00:59:59I'm
01:00:01going to
01:00:04go for
01:00:043-2
01:00:07Motherwell
01:00:07I can
01:00:08see a lot
01:00:09of goals
01:00:09in this
01:00:09game
01:00:09I think
01:00:09Livingston
01:00:10will
01:00:10go and
01:00:10really
01:00:11get after
01:00:11Motherwell
01:00:12and pressure
01:00:12them
01:00:13and I think
01:00:14if Motherwell
01:00:14do break
01:00:15through them
01:00:15they've got
01:00:15the quality
01:00:16to go and
01:00:16open Livingston
01:00:17up
01:00:17but at the
01:00:17other end
01:00:17I think
01:00:18Livingston
01:00:18can set
01:00:18pieces
01:00:19physicality
01:00:20and they can
01:00:21play as well
01:00:21Livingston
01:00:22I think
01:00:22they'll cause
01:00:22Motherwell
01:00:23problems
01:00:23so
01:00:23highest
01:00:24going
01:00:24game
01:00:24for me
01:00:253-2
01:00:25Motherwell
01:00:25Isn't it
01:00:26just as we
01:00:26finish
01:00:27Tam
01:00:28it's indicative
01:00:29of
01:00:29how people
01:00:31view
01:00:31football
01:00:32we love to
01:00:33see
01:00:34at times
01:00:34we can be
01:00:35a little bit
01:00:35snobby about
01:00:36it but like
01:00:37the purists
01:00:37we want to
01:00:38see free
01:00:39flowing
01:00:39football
01:00:39Motherwell
01:00:40are providing
01:00:41it but it's
01:00:41not winning
01:00:41football
01:00:42and then the
01:00:43Rangers team
01:00:43the Rangers fans
01:00:45just want to
01:00:45see winning
01:00:46football right
01:00:47now
01:00:47they'll get
01:00:47out of the
01:00:48get it
01:00:48just win
01:00:49games
01:00:49I think
01:00:50that cycle
01:00:50is starting
01:00:51to turn
01:00:51again
01:00:51I've noticed
01:00:53it in
01:00:53England
01:00:53they're talking
01:00:54about
01:00:54Sean Dyche
01:00:55coming back
01:00:56in and
01:00:56they're talking
01:00:56about longer
01:00:57passes
01:00:57longer balls
01:00:58and I think
01:00:59in terms of
01:01:01Livingston
01:01:01and Motherwell
01:01:01there's probably
01:01:02two contrasting
01:01:03styles
01:01:03but you've
01:01:04just got to
01:01:05win games
01:01:05as a
01:01:05football
01:01:05as a
01:01:05manager
01:01:06you know
01:01:06there's guys
01:01:07getting sacked
01:01:08after 8 games
01:01:09in England
01:01:09there's guys
01:01:09getting sacked
01:01:10after 8 games
01:01:10up here
01:01:11you've got to
01:01:13find a solution
01:01:13you've got to
01:01:14find a situation
01:01:15where you're
01:01:15winning games
01:01:16and if you
01:01:16don't it
01:01:17doesn't matter
01:01:17how you play
01:01:17you've just
01:01:18got to win
01:01:18yeah
01:01:19absolutely
01:01:20the difference
01:01:21between a
01:01:22long ball
01:01:23and a
01:01:23long pass
01:01:24Ruffy
01:01:24is Pep
01:01:25Guardiola
01:01:26and Sean Dyche
01:01:26well
01:01:27that is
01:01:29that is
01:01:30Pep Guardiola
01:01:30if one of his
01:01:31players
01:01:32would say it
01:01:32was a long
01:01:33pass
01:01:33if Sean Dyche
01:01:34said oh
01:01:34he's just
01:01:34scalped up
01:01:34with Pat
01:01:35Longbow
01:01:35well
01:01:35honestly you
01:01:36have summed
01:01:37it up
01:01:37brilliantly
01:01:37I was
01:01:38going to
01:01:38go a
01:01:39little bit
01:01:39longer
01:01:40round the
01:01:40round about
01:01:41Ruffy
01:01:41and say
01:01:42if you're
01:01:43Chris
01:01:43Hodel
01:01:43Glenn
01:01:44Hoddle
01:01:45Paul
01:01:45Gascoigne
01:01:46or Paul
01:01:46McStay
01:01:47it's a
01:01:47long pass
01:01:48but if you
01:01:49are some
01:01:49of the
01:01:50workman
01:01:50like guys
01:01:51that we're
01:01:51seeing
01:01:51in the
01:01:53middle of
01:01:53the park
01:01:53it's a
01:01:54hoof up
01:01:54the park
01:01:55and then
01:01:55see if you
01:01:56can get
01:01:56on the
01:01:56second
01:01:57ball
01:01:57but listen
