00:00Someone said one time I'm the best worst breeder's cup trainer ever because I had my in the money
00:14percentage was over 50 percent but I had zero wins and I couldn't explain that other than
00:21you just keep trying and it finally came around. The amount of work that it takes to get there
00:28I don't think it's underestimated the amount of disappointments and the highs the lows the
00:35preparation any race is hard to win much less a stakes race and much less a championship race.
00:42It's a special moment I wish most people could enjoy it because I could only describe it so much
00:46and you have to almost feel it to believe it. To start out with four very modest claiming horses and
00:53to work at it and push and put all the time in that we have into it and end up winning a breeder's
01:02cup it was vindicating. It just worked out. We were in a big group of people on those bleachers right in
01:08front of the grandstand on the apron and uh yeah we all went nuts after he passed the wire.
01:14Coming down to the line together, straight no chaser at Ben Fernando, straight no chaser in the Raiders
01:21Cup sprint. Building up to that point it was all worth it you know and hopefully more to come.
01:29Without being flippant the highlight of the whole bar none, Raiders Cup, end of story.
01:35Arizona Blaise is coming to and Big Mojo, here's the wire, Magnum Force has done it!
01:42Breeders Cup means something like probably didn't expect to win it if that makes sense. You know we
01:46just like my modus would always be run well, win is a bonus. The thing about the Breeders Cup is you're
01:53there for a week and it's a very very good experience and if you're lucky enough to have a
01:58horse that's good enough stroke invited to go I would advise you to go.
02:03When I see Moira make that sort of kick you know I mean the wire can't come soon enough at that point
02:09but uh when it did and and and she was in front braced my wife my daughter.
02:15Moira, third time's the charm congratulations.
02:19Something I'll never forget and I don't know if she knew but uh she gave it all.
02:28At the top of the stretch when he kicked in and I could just remember him lugging in and I
02:32thought come on man change your lead and and go you goofball and when he did it I mean
02:37all the things the crowd's shaking and you're just emotional and uh yeah I just remember
02:43thinking he's gonna get there we're gonna win it and and then he got in front and that that was that.
02:48Coming ten happy rolls on the inside a wild finish that goes to more than looks
02:54more than looks gets up under Jose Ortiz to win the Breeders Cup final.
03:00When you win a Breeders Cup it's a um you know it's the highest high it's
03:04I think that event all together is epitomizes the sport and and how difficult it is.
03:09Torpedo and uh what a year. And there's a whole long list of very very talented horsemen that have
03:15never won one so it's no disgrace to have not won one but um to to hit that high level at the
03:20Breeders Cup it means everything. To get our first Breeders Cup with Soul of Angel it was a dream come
03:25true and it was a moment that you charge for life and something that you you basically it's a memory
03:31that you don't forget. Coming down to the finish. Who's it going to be? It's Soul of an Angel.
03:38I mean it means a lot when you put your whole life into something and and you get there finally
03:43I'm just thankful that it was able to happen. You get uh so emotionally attached to these animals
03:50that I think people don't realize how much you do love them. That's her right there.
03:56I'm one of the fortunate ones I guess that can claim a Breeders Cup win and uh hopefully it's
04:04the first of many more to come.
