00:00Well, you have this new show, Honestly Cavalieri, The Headline Tour, which is following your podcast tour.
00:04It's so much fun.
00:06What made you want to get back into reality TV?
00:09Well, I know I've said a thousand times I would never go back.
00:11And I stand by what I've said because this is not a show about my day-to-day life.
00:16Yes, you see little glimpses leading up to the tour.
00:18But really, I filmed doing my podcast tour for a week, which I was already doing.
00:23So I just thought, why not have cameras come along and really capitalize on the experience?
00:26And I filmed the entire show in two weeks, which is a dream.
00:30I mean, that's unheard of.
00:31So, you know, it was the perfect experience, perfect opportunity.
00:35And I'm really happy that I went back because this was the most enjoyable experience I've had on a show.
00:39Oh, I'm so happy to hear that.
00:41And we're, as fans, happy you came back.
00:44Well, I love to see how much fun your kids are having with this experience.
00:47Were there a lot of conversations that went into, you know, deciding to show their faces on camera?
00:52Yeah, so I've always said I wanted to wait until they were old enough to make that decision.
00:56And so about a year, year and a half ago, I started, you know, slowly kind of putting them out there on social media a little bit because they had been asking.
01:04And, again, I mean, my oldest is about to be 13.
01:06I mean, he's a teenager.
01:08And so with the show, yes, there were a lot of conversations about it.
01:12And they were really excited.
01:13And they really wanted to be on camera.
01:15And you can tell if you've seen the show.
01:17I mean, they loved it.
01:18And, again, they filmed for two days for maybe an hour each day.
01:23It was very minimal.
01:24They're in maybe three or four scenes in the whole show.
01:26Thanks, Mom.
01:27You're welcome.
01:31Did you hear about that one kid?
01:32She was, like, 12 years old and she drove to Target.
01:35Yeah, I did.
01:35That would literally be one of your kids, though.
01:37I stole my stepbrother's car in eighth grade.
01:39I'm just, like, drove around the neighborhood.
01:42So I do feel like it was a way to include them without it being too much and feeling like they're overexposed.
01:48I, again, stand by what I've said.
01:49I would never do a reality show just about our day-to-day life with my children.
01:52I still want to keep my kids kids.
01:54But this was a cool way to share this reality experience because it's been such a big part of my life for over 20 years that I am glad we have that moment together.
02:03Yeah, that's amazing.
02:04It's going to be, like, a nice little home video to look back on someday, too.
02:07Yeah, exactly.
02:07Yeah.
02:08Well, I want to get into the podcast tour.
02:10So Kim Zosiak, she was your first guest on the tour.
02:13What made her the perfect first guest?
02:15Well, the first stop was Atlanta.
02:17And, of course, Kim is an icon, period, but in Atlanta especially.
02:21And I've known Kim a long time.
02:23I really value that, you know, she's someone who's authentic.
02:27We all know you've been in the media a lot.
02:30And we're going to get to it.
02:31But I always want to know what the housewives, are they real?
02:34It's 100% real.
02:36Come on.
02:36I promise you.
02:37It's 100% real.
02:39I'm shocked.
02:40They never told you what to say or do.
02:42It just turned out as crazy as it was.
02:44She's dealt with a lot in the press, especially as of late.
02:48And because this is the headline tour and I wanted to talk about the headlines and how ridiculous the media can be,
02:53I thought there was no better person than Kim Zosiak.
02:56And she made the first show so great.
02:59I was so nervous.
03:00She put me at ease.
03:01It just, it was great.
03:02I thought it was perfect.
03:03Yeah, got to love that female power.
03:04Exactly, yeah.
03:05I simply have to ask about Glenn Powell because we learned in the show that you guys met partying in Greece.
03:11There may have been some dry humping going on.
03:12She recently went on a date with...
03:15She's going to be so mad at me, actually.
03:18Oh, my God.
03:20With Glenn Powell and I wanted it to happen so bad.
03:23Is there anything you can say about that experience with him?
03:30I'm going to leave it at that.
03:32Just there.
03:33Yeah.
03:33Do you have a favorite movie of his?
03:35No.
03:37Fair enough.
03:38You had the Laguna Beach season two cast on too.
03:41And that Lindsay Lohan story was wild.
03:43Have you gotten to connect with her at all since that happened?
03:46Not in the last however many years.
03:50I know I had seen her after that.
03:52Well, I'd seen her multiple times after that.
03:54But not, I mean, God, I probably haven't seen her since 2008 or 2009.
03:58Somewhere in there.
03:59So, yeah.
03:59Wow.
04:00A lot's changed.
04:01We've both grown up.
04:02We've both become mothers.
04:03You know, I think it would be very different today if we saw each other.
04:06Definitely.
04:07And can I just say, you handled Taryn so well on that stage.
04:10Talon.
04:11Talon.
04:11What did I say?
04:13Keep that in.
04:13That's hilarious.
04:14No.
04:16Oops.
04:16You handled him so well on that stage.
04:19He was a little bit of a mess.
04:21Not super kind to you.
04:23Look at this bad boy.
04:25Zinning and has a mullet.
04:26Oh, my God.
04:28I'm like, I'm slowly turning into a Montana boy.
04:31I'm like, I'm like, I'm slowly turning into a Montana boy.
04:39We need to take this, Rick.
04:41How did you keep your cool on stage in that moment?
04:44You know, I think I'm unfortunately or fortunately so used to having things thrown at me, good and bad, my entire career, that in front of a thousand people in a live audience and cameras, I'm not going to lose my cool.
05:01But I mean, you see, well, you see it as soon as I come off stage.
05:05But then next week's episode, you really see the aftermath of it.
05:07And I was not happy.
05:08I had to go downstairs when you were doing the Laguna Beach thing because he made one comment where, like, my jaw dropped.
05:14That was the biggest slap in the face in front of all these people.
05:17These guys love to just put me down in front of everybody.
05:21And, like, literally every guy in my life has done that to me.
05:24It's, like, so fucked up.
05:26And, like, Talon, fuck you.
05:27I was really actually upset about it.
05:30And I will say this.
05:31I love Talon.
05:32We are totally fine now.
05:33We've talked about it.
05:34He's apologized.
05:35I can totally appreciate he was really nervous.
05:38You know, he doesn't do this stuff anymore.
05:40And I was nervous.
05:41And I do this stuff.
05:43So I have a lot of empathy for him in that situation.
05:46Do I think it was a little unfair that he was coming at me?
05:48Sure.
05:48But I also can handle it.
05:50And I think if it was just Talon, it would have been okay.
05:53What happened was I had to do a quick change, do another show that same night, and then actually something even worse happened, which we'll see next week.
06:00It was my very first boyfriend, Johnny.
06:02Kind of a similar situation in that I thought it was going to go one way, and it took a complete left turn.
06:06So I think, like, the combination of the two back-to-back, I was rocked.
06:09Like, I was, like, really upset.
06:12Oh, my gosh.
06:13Yeah, but, you know, it makes for good TV, so I guess I can look at the positive in it.
06:17That is good.
06:18As a Southern Charm fan, I'm very excited to see Craig and Austin come on this show.
06:22What was it like to reconnect with Craig after his breakup, and do you see yourself maybe rekindling any past romance with him now that he's single?
06:29Everyone's been asking that.
06:30No, I love Craig.
06:31He is a friend.
06:32He will forever be a friend.
06:34It was so great to see them.
06:36Austin and I kept in touch for all the years, but Craig and I obviously reconnected after his breakup, and it was like no time had passed.
06:42You know, I really do love them.
06:43We have a lot in common.
06:44We have a lot of fun together.
06:45And I haven't seen that episode yet, but it was my favorite podcast episode to tape.
06:49I've listened to the podcast episode, and it's great.
06:53So I'm excited for that to come out, too.
06:55Yeah.
06:55I'm excited to see it.
06:56And I saw Amanda.
06:58She posted a picture with you literally maybe half an hour ago, and Paige commented mothers.
07:02Have you gotten to talk to Paige at all?
07:04No, I haven't.
07:05This is news to me.
07:06No, listen, I've met Paige.
07:07I love Paige.
07:08I loved Amanda.
07:09There is nothing weird there whatsoever.
07:12I think, you know, at the end of the day, we're all girls' girls, and I think that's pretty apparent.
07:18Yeah.
07:18And speaking of, I mean, your podcast is just huge.
07:21What do you think of these other female-led podcasts like Giggly Squad, Call Her Daddy, things like that?
07:25I think it's awesome.
07:26I mean, I love that women are out there just killing it, and I love that women are having this moment where we can speak our minds.
07:32And I just think it's cool that so many women are rallying around other women, and it's really cool and special to see.
07:39Do you have any advice for anyone looking to enter that space?
07:42I would say just be authentic.
07:43I think at the end of the day, that's all we have is being our true selves and to not worry about the noise.
07:48I've been getting shit on.
07:50I hope I can say that.
07:51Sorry.
07:51Since I was 17 years old, you know, but I've been able to have a career for over 21 years.
07:55I have another show.
07:57And I just think if I listened to all the negativity and the hate, I would have crumbled.
08:02You know, you have to understand where that's coming from with people and just do what's true to you and just go after your dreams.
08:09Yeah, I love that.
08:11Well, another thing you talked about on Watch What Happens was your relationship with Brody Jenner was not real.
08:18Well, it was when I was 18.
08:19Okay.
08:20So this is where it gets a little muddy.
08:21So Brody was actually my first boyfriend in L.A. when I graduated high school.
08:24I met him almost immediately.
08:25We dated for a year, pre-Hills.
08:28We broke up.
08:29He got on the Hills.
08:30Then I came on the Hills.
08:31When we dated on the Hills, that wasn't real.
08:33But he was very much a real boyfriend before.
08:35Okay, got it.
08:36So it's a little confusing.
08:36So we have some clarification.
08:38Yeah, I know.
08:38People were confused by that.
08:40Sorry.
08:40Well, have you watched him on Special Forces?
08:42Because he won that the last season.
08:44I know.
08:44I've seen clips.
08:45I should watch it.
08:46I'm so happy and proud of him.
08:47I mean, and I got to see him a couple years ago for the Hills.
08:50I did an episode of the Hills reboot.
08:52And he's grown up a lot.
08:54And he really has become such an amazing guy.
08:56And he always was great.
08:57But I adore Brody.
08:58And I'm so happy for him with where he's at in his life.
09:00Yeah.
09:01Yeah, he seems like a good dad.
09:02He's a good guy.
09:02Yeah, he seems like a great dad.
09:04Yeah.
09:04Well, if you could do a second season that follows another podcast tour, who would be your dream guests?
09:09Well, okay, Heidi and Spencer were supposed to come out on the first one.
09:12They had to back out for other reasons.
09:14They've been on my podcast.
09:15It's one of my favorite episodes.
09:16I want them to come out.
09:18I would love Brody.
09:19I think what I learned on this podcast tour was people really resonated with the people who were personal to my life,
09:24like the Laguna cast or Craig and Austin, I think is going to be a big one.
09:28And so I think just trying to go for more people, like in my actual world, I actually think Paige would be awesome.
09:34You know, like I think I've got my eyes on some people.
09:36So we'll see.
09:37That's so exciting.
09:38Fingers crossed.
09:39Is there anything else you can tease about what's to come this season?
09:43You know, it just, it was way more emotional.
09:46It brought up a lot more from my past than I ever thought it was going to.
09:50And you kind of start to see it with Talon on last night's episode.
09:53And it just becomes more and more.
09:54And for me, it was sort of this therapeutic tour in a way where I've realized how far I've come.
10:01And I also definitely had a moment of like the men that I've allowed in my life in the past is kind of sad when I actually think about it.
10:08And it's really because of my relationship with my dad.
10:10But instead of being sad about it, I was able to kind of flip that and be like,
10:14it's actually a good thing because I get to see firsthand how far I've come and that I would never now allow men like this into my life today.
10:19So it was the most personal show I've ever done.
