00:01:11Я 26 лет, и у меня было много времени.
00:01:15Я просто начинал там.

00:01:28The Half is presented by AT&T.
00:01:31Connecting changes everything.
00:01:33It the age 1せて.
00:01:34It heb議.
00:01:35You're watching the sind NBA on Prime, presented by Wingstop.
00:01:42Продолжение следует...
00:02:12You can check almost every box.
00:02:14Celtics really struggled in that second quarter.
00:02:16Let us right now check out From the Wing, presented by Wingstop.
00:02:21Well, and the Knicks doing exactly what Mike Brown wants.
00:02:24They're running more.
00:02:26Here you see Brunson into the paint, and they're shooting more threes.
00:02:30Brunson to Yabusele, extra pass to Shamity, knocks it down.
00:02:35Here we are in transition again.
00:02:37Towns finds Jordan Clarkson.
00:02:39Always one of the best bench scorers and shooters in the league, and they knock it in.
00:02:46Second quarter, six for 13 from three, and the Knicks 15 to nothing on fast break points.
00:02:55Every button that Mike Brown pushed worked.
00:03:01Joe Mazzullo going with some new faces tonight.
00:03:05At one point, we saw five new players in the game.
00:03:09Boy, Mazzullo made a complete line change.
00:03:13But the Celtics' second quarter struggles 22% from the field.
00:03:20Well, one of the things when you're playing such a new team, so many different new faces, so many people in different roles,
00:03:29it's going to take some experimentation for Joe Mazzullo to figure out exactly what he wants to do.
00:03:35Eight new players on the Celtics' roster, a brand-new defensive philosophy as well.
00:03:41Shot clock is winding down.
00:03:42Brunson, good defense from Brown.
00:03:45He helped, and Brunson didn't get a clean shot off.
00:03:48It's a shot clock violation.
00:03:49Well, the defense on Brunson, other than sending him to the line five times, has been outstanding.
00:03:55That has not been the problem.
00:03:58The problem's been in transition and on the boards for the Celtics.
00:04:02Celtics went 4-0 against the Knicks during the regular season, then lost in six games to New York in the Eastern Conference semifinals.
00:04:11Tatum going down in game four.
00:04:13Well, and you know what?
00:04:14Everybody says, yeah, well, Tatum got hurt.
00:04:16But remember, with Tatum, the Knicks were up 3-1 in that series.
00:04:21They won game five without Tatum behind a huge game from Derek White and then lost game six back here in New York.
00:04:32Foul is called on O.G. Ananobi, and that is number three on him.
00:04:3814 on the shot clock, get it in for Brown.
00:04:40He has not had the impact scoring-wise that the Celtics need from him.
00:04:44Eight points, Hauser catching fire.
00:04:47It's good, a three.
00:04:49Sam Hauser, we said it in the first half, as good an open shooter as there is in the league.
00:04:56He is four of six from three-point territory.
00:04:59They signed him to a four-year, $45 million deal.
00:05:02Ananobi, the answer?
00:05:03No.
00:05:04Rebounded by Pritchard.
00:05:08Pritchard has been held to three points.
00:05:10He's 0-5 from the field.
00:05:12A little zigzag move.
00:05:13He's going to take to the Big Towns.
00:05:14Bounce it inside.
00:05:15Kata wheels in for two.
00:05:18That's his second assist to Kata tonight on the pick-and-roll.
00:05:22We saw one in the first half.
00:05:24Pritchard playing well.
00:05:26Just struggling to make shots throughout the preseason in these first two games.
00:05:30Pritchard now has five assists overall.
00:05:33Bridges took a bump from Brown.
00:05:34No call.
00:05:36Kick it.
00:05:37McBride to Ananobi.
00:05:41Boxed out by Kata.
00:05:42Saved by Pritchard.
00:05:44Well, Brown's everywhere defensively.
00:05:46Helping, recovering, contesting, doing it all.
00:05:50Brown's jumper doesn't go.
00:05:52Weak side rebound for Brunson.
00:05:57Brunson one-on-one with Kata.
00:06:01Just over two minutes gone by in the third quarter.
00:06:06Lead was 20, currently 15.
00:06:09The three ball doesn't go for McBride.
00:06:14Next 0-4-3 from three to start this quarter.
00:06:17Kata screen for right switch.
00:06:21Hauser.
00:06:21Oh, that's Logoland.
00:06:23A three!
00:06:24Oh, my gosh.
00:06:25Sam Hauser sticks it.
00:06:29Timeout, New York.
00:06:328-0 run to start the second half.
00:06:36Sam Hauser hit it from Staten Island.
00:06:42Alexis Anthony Edwards arriving in L.A.
00:06:46for the Minnesota Timberwolves
00:06:49to take on Luka Doncic
00:06:52and the Lakers.
00:06:54Dan, I believe they want you to host this segment
00:06:56on Fit Check.
00:06:59Well, you know, I mean, I certainly could.
00:07:02You won't, but you could.
00:07:04And those two guys are both dressed like the guys
00:07:06in our studio.
00:07:07Nice and casual.
00:07:09We're out here in coat and tie.
00:07:10Yeah.
00:07:11Being professional.
00:07:12And everybody else, everybody is just relaxed.
00:07:16I know people might think you're being sarcastic.
00:07:18You're actually very upset.
00:07:20Well, of course I am.
00:07:21Yes, you know me.
00:07:23McBride, ball fake at a three.
00:07:24Out of the timeout.
00:07:26Got a three.
00:07:27Well, that was a big one for him.
00:07:29First one tonight.
00:07:31One for six after making four the other night
00:07:34in their win.
00:07:35Brown gives up his dribble.
00:07:37McBride steps in.
00:07:39And it is out of bounds.
00:07:46Great shot fake here.
00:07:48Just a little sidestep escape.
00:07:51That changed a few years ago
00:07:53in the league, Ian.
00:07:54And as you know, used to be shot fake,
00:07:56go by the guy, either mid-range pull-up
00:07:59or get to the rim.
00:08:00Now all these guys have that escape dribble
00:08:03for the three.
00:08:04Brown got an open look.
00:08:05Could not convert from 15 feet away.
00:08:09Boston three-pointers.
00:08:10Hauser is five of seven.
00:08:12The rest of the team, four of 19.
00:08:13Cha-ching!
00:08:15For Jalen Brunson.
00:08:16It's a trade.
00:08:17And that must feel good to him
00:08:18because throughout the preseason
00:08:20in these first two games,
00:08:22he's really been struggling from three.
00:08:24He's got 14 points.
00:08:25He's four of ten from the field.
00:08:28Pritchard still looking for his first field goal.
00:08:32Seven to shoot.
00:08:33Pritchard trying to go by McBride.
00:08:35The fake.
00:08:36And it goes for Peyton Pritchard.
00:08:38He heard you that he needed one.
00:08:41Not easy for him
00:08:42because Deuce McBride's a great defender.
00:08:44Nice adjustment by Mike Brown
00:08:49to put him into the starting lineup.
00:08:51And he has absolutely hounded
00:08:53Peyton Pritchard tonight.
00:08:54Pull up.
00:08:55Pritchard is no.
00:08:56Save it.
00:08:57For the Brunson three.
00:08:58It's good.
00:09:00A trade ball for Jalen Brunson.
00:09:02The second chance points
00:09:03just destroying Boston tonight.
00:09:06That's 17 now for the Knicks.
00:09:09Pritchard probing.
00:09:1373-50.
00:09:14New York.
00:09:17Extending out Brunson.
00:09:19Now it's Brown one-on-one with Ananobi.
00:09:22Brown makes his move.
00:09:23The fade.
00:09:24It goes for Jalen Brown.
00:09:27It's a tough shot, though.
00:09:28There's nothing easy
00:09:30going against this Knicks lineup
00:09:32out there with McBride, Bridges,
00:09:34and Ananobi defensively.
00:09:36Last year, Boston number two
00:09:38in offensive rating.
00:09:39That ball is out of bounds.
00:09:41Hauser couldn't save it.
00:09:45Well, Brunson here coming off the dribble.
00:09:48Kate has been up most of the night,
00:09:49but a little soft on that pick-and-roll.
00:09:51giving Brunson room to knock it down.
00:09:5817 now for Brunson.
00:09:59Pritchard sits.
00:10:03Loop it for Towns.
00:10:05Matched up with Tillman.
00:10:06Simons in the game.
00:10:10Shot clock down to five.
00:10:11McBride.
00:10:12Swing.
00:10:13Bridges.
00:10:13Shot clock winding down.
00:10:14Bridges!
00:10:16Knocks it down from long range.
00:10:18Well, after going four for 11
00:10:21from three in the first quarter,
00:10:24the Knicks have just been on fire
00:10:25from there since.
00:10:28They are 14 of 34
00:10:30from three-point land.
00:10:32Brown, the dribble drive.
00:10:34Kick it around for White.
00:10:35His three is off.
00:10:37Good defense by McBride.
00:10:39It's an air ball.
00:10:41Looks like a stiff wind came through.
00:10:43I don't believe that played
00:10:45any role whatsoever.
00:10:46You don't think so?
00:10:47That's a deep one for Bridges there
00:10:49off the play from McBride.
00:10:51No real reason to help like that
00:10:53off of that one.
00:10:54It was not a penetrating drive.
00:10:56With the abundance of three-point shooting now,
00:10:59help decisions become very important.
00:11:03You can't just go on every dribble
00:11:05when you're helping off of the shooter.
00:11:07Free throws coming up for Carl Anthony Towns.
00:11:13The NBA on Prime is brought to you by Wingstop.
00:11:15Big plays with even bigger flavor.
00:11:17Wingstop is here.
00:11:19And by CarMax.
00:11:21Want to drive?
00:11:23I have a little bit of a problem
00:11:25with Wingstop as a sponsor.
00:11:27Because you now want it?
00:11:28I'm very hungry.
00:11:30I mean, we just keep going to Wingstop ads.
00:11:33And I'm really glad they're a sponsor.
00:11:36I love Wingstop.
00:11:37But I think as part of the sponsorship,
00:11:41they should provide us with wings right here.
00:11:44I think that could probably happen.
00:11:46Maybe not tonight, but at some point.
00:11:49Wow.
00:11:49I feel great about the fact that
00:11:53you just share your most inner thoughts
00:11:56as a running commentary.
00:11:59You're hungry, you say it.
00:12:01Absolutely.
00:12:01Well, I wasn't hungry
00:12:03until we started getting all the Wingstop ads.
00:12:08Towns.
00:12:09And this is the largest lead of the night.
00:12:1178-56.
00:12:13It's another trend in the NBA we've seen.
00:12:18And Indiana made it really popular last year
00:12:22as the bright forces a turnover.
00:12:24You know why.
00:12:25And it used to be rare to see teams pick up full court
00:12:28and pressure the ball.
00:12:30And now it seems like the majority of NBA teams
00:12:34are picking up 94 feet from the start of the game
00:12:37to the end and putting pressure on people.
00:12:41Ask Mike Brown about his squad.
00:12:43He said, I just love this group.
00:12:44They're so competitive.
00:12:46They're self-starters.
00:12:47They're highly motivated.
00:12:49McBride on a kick for Brunson.
00:12:53He knows they want to win badly.
00:12:55Brunson's full-up puck is there.
00:12:58Well, that's the second time Brunson's been able
00:13:01to take advantage of that matchup with Tillman.
00:13:03Tillman's a tough guy and works hard.
00:13:06But he's not going to move his feet well enough
00:13:08to be able to stay with Jalen Brunson.
00:13:10Brown gets it back from Tillman.
00:13:14Spin by Brown.
00:13:15Helped by Ananobi.
00:13:16He knocks it away.
00:13:18It's a two-on-one developing.
00:13:20Brunson to Borges.
00:13:21He couldn't guide it in.
00:13:24Celtics come the other way.
00:13:26Hauser missed it.
00:13:30It's a great look, though.
00:13:32Joe Mazzola would like more of that,
00:13:34but you've got to get some stops if you're going to get out and run.
00:13:38Boston has not been able to get back.
00:13:40Brunson short.
00:13:41Another offensive rebound for New York.
00:13:44Get it inside.
00:13:45Towns.
00:13:47Brown got a piece of it.
00:13:48And Tillman saves it for the Celtics.
00:13:5114-4 offensive rebound.
00:13:53Simons drives right into Brunson.
00:13:55Somehow gets it back and scores on the interior.
00:13:59Well, you know one thing about Brunson.
00:14:00Not a great defender, but a tough guy
00:14:03will always put his body in front of the ball.
00:14:09There's Towns way outside.
00:14:12Loses the ball.
00:14:13Tillman there defensively.
00:14:14Simons takes it out.
00:14:17White on the move.
00:14:20They wanted to travel,
00:14:22and what they're going to get is an out-of-bounds.
00:14:26National TV schedule coming up.
00:14:27Peacock has got you covered on Monday night.
00:14:30The Pistons hosting the Cavs,
00:14:31the Nuggets in Minnesota.
00:14:33Tuesday, NBC and Peacock.
00:14:35The Knicks and Bucks.
00:14:36Clippers and Warriors Wednesday on ESPN.
00:14:38The Celtics host the Cavaliers.
00:14:40The Lakers will be in Minnesota.
00:14:44Well, it's two Cavaliers games
00:14:46on that national TV schedule,
00:14:48and I think most people think the East now,
00:14:51with all the other injuries,
00:14:52comes down to New York and Cleveland.
00:14:55I think Orlando, Detroit, Atlanta
00:14:59will all have a chance,
00:15:02and I think the big wild card in the East
00:15:04are the Philadelphia 76ers.
00:15:07You know, because we don't expect them
00:15:10to stay healthy,
00:15:12but if they do,
00:15:14if Paul George gets back,
00:15:16and Embiid can get back in shape
00:15:17and stay healthy,
00:15:19we saw that great guard duo
00:15:20the other night against Boston
00:15:22as Brown knocks it down.
00:15:24Vijay Edgecombe and Tyrese Maxey.
00:15:26That, to me, is the wild card in the East.
00:15:29And maybe getting McCain back as well.
00:15:32Absolutely.
00:15:33Would have been the rookie of the year
00:15:34at the point he got hurt last year anyway.
00:15:37And Tyrese Maxey taking yet another step
00:15:40in his development.
00:15:41McBride.
00:15:43There was a foul called on the inside.
00:15:45Gonzalez and Towns were mixing it up.
00:15:49So, with the Tatum injury
00:15:52and the Halliburton injury,
00:15:53it opens the door.
00:15:55You have new faces in different places.
00:15:59You got the Cavaliers who
00:16:01put together one of the most outstanding
00:16:04regular seasons that we've seen,
00:16:06but it did not reflect in the postseason
00:16:10the way that they would have hoped.
00:16:12Third foul on Gonzalez.
00:16:16Yamusele is back in.
00:16:18He started his NBA career with Boston.
00:16:23And a foul called
00:16:24as the Celtics were trying to run.
00:16:27This is my first look.
00:16:29Really watching him.
00:16:31But Hugo Gonzalez gets after it defensively.
00:16:33I thought the foul they called down here,
00:16:35him on Towns,
00:16:36I actually thought should have been called
00:16:37on Towns before.
00:16:39This guy battles,
00:16:40and he's going to be a force
00:16:41on the defensive end for the Celtics.
00:16:43Looks like, to me,
00:16:45Brad Stevens made another outstanding draft.
00:16:47He is 6'6", with a 6'11 wingspan.
00:16:51Post-up opportunity, Brown.
00:16:53He takes it right at Shammett.
00:16:56Well, he took advantage of the switch.
00:16:59Derek White saw it all along
00:17:01and knew where he was going with the ball
00:17:02as soon as he got it.
00:17:04Brown and Hauser,
00:17:05the high scores for Boston.
00:17:0715 apiece.
00:17:0819 for Brunson,
00:17:1018 for Towns,
00:17:11for New York.
00:17:13We approach three minutes to go
00:17:14in this third quarter.
00:17:15Kolick,
00:17:16peaks of the clock,
00:17:17four to shoot.
00:17:18Trying to make it happen.
00:17:19Brown there defensively.
00:17:20Gonzalez gets a piece,
00:17:22and it's going to be a shot clock violation.
00:17:24It should never have switched.
00:17:27You didn't hear the buzzer sound
00:17:29because they switched the shot clock
00:17:31in what they thought was a change of possession,
00:17:33but the ball was still up for grabs.
00:17:35And I agree with the referees.
00:17:36That was not a change of possession.
00:17:38But Hugo Gonzalez
00:17:40is making a major impact defensively,
00:17:44and he has set the tone.
00:17:46The Celtics' defense has stepped up,
00:17:48and all of a sudden,
00:17:49they're forcing the Knicks into turnovers.
00:17:51And Stan,
00:17:53what a huge breakthrough for you personally
00:17:55to say in the third quarter
00:17:57of the first game on prime,
00:17:59I agree with the referees.
00:18:01Oh, well, I usually do.
00:18:03When?
00:18:04No, that's, yeah, you're right.
00:18:06That is not true.
00:18:07Simons.
00:18:10Airball.
00:18:11It gets knocked around over to Hart.
00:18:14Ahead for Shemin.
00:18:15Cutter, Yabasele,
00:18:17and once again,
00:18:18it's Gonzalez throwing his body around
00:18:20for Boston.
00:18:21All right, I'm falling in love
00:18:23with Hugo Gonzalez.
00:18:25White short on a three.
00:18:27Bucks out by Hart.
00:18:28Loses his footing.
00:18:29And a loose ball foul on Jalen Brown.
00:18:33Everybody appears to be okay.
00:18:35We got a timeout with 2.29 remaining.
00:18:38Third quarter.
00:18:39MSG all pumped up.
00:18:42I'm here, but it starts down there.
00:18:45Your guy's physicality without fouling
00:18:48has been tremendous.
00:18:49Hell of a job fight.
00:18:51You hit two or three threes,
00:18:52but hell of a job fighting through the screens down there.
00:18:56You too.
00:18:57Great job.
00:18:59We got to keep boxing out.
00:19:00We get out and go.
00:19:02Yeah, Mike Brown,
00:19:04they're doing exactly what he wants.
00:19:05Defending,
00:19:06rebounding at both ends,
00:19:08and then getting out and running.
00:19:10A great block by Boucher.
00:19:12His third one of the night.
00:19:14Adenobe misses on a three ball from the corner
00:19:17after getting denied by Boucher.
00:19:24Swing it.
00:19:25Simons.
00:19:25Boucher turns the corner
00:19:28and flips it in.
00:19:31Hugo Gonzalez,
00:19:32who shows flashes.
00:19:34You do.
00:19:34Clearly.
00:19:35A little man-crush.
00:19:35On wingstop and Hugo Gonzalez.
00:19:39Okay, I'll take wingstop over Hugo.
00:19:4282-65.
00:19:43Knicks.
00:19:45Colett.
00:19:46He finds Hart in the corner.
00:19:49Get it out of there.
00:19:51Boucher.
00:19:53You can do it.
00:19:54Boucher's fourth block of the night.
00:19:57Two of them on the perimeter
00:19:58and two of them at the rim.
00:20:00Nice drive by Hugo Gonzalez.
00:20:04Maybe I should leave
00:20:05and you can just talk about Hugo Gonzalez
00:20:07the rest of the way.
00:20:08I think that's what I'm going to do
00:20:09for his last 13-41.
00:20:11Yabu Saleh drives in on Boucher.
00:20:16He finds Colett and he puts it in.
00:20:19I'm not sure that one will count.
00:20:21We'll review that at the next stoppage
00:20:23and I'm not sure that one will count.
00:20:26Well, for now, it does.
00:20:28Four points for Colett.
00:20:36Boucher is trying to feed it to Brown.
00:20:39Simons now with five to shoot.
00:20:40He's one-on-one with Colett.
00:20:43Screen.
00:20:43Boucher.
00:20:44Colett gets a piece of it
00:20:45and a turnover.
00:20:46I'll tell you, New York's defense's
00:20:48first two games
00:20:49has just been outstanding.
00:20:52Ananobi.
00:20:53Drive.
00:20:54And he tosses it to the other team.
00:20:56Pritchard.
00:20:57Pull a three.
00:21:00And a foul call.
00:21:01It's going to stay right here.
00:21:02All right, this is the eagle eye
00:21:05of Stan Van Gundy.
00:21:07Yeah, it wasn't close.
00:21:09Well, you know what?
00:21:10I think in general,
00:21:11it was the same when I was coaching.
00:21:13If the referees would just look to me
00:21:15for some help,
00:21:16I'm always here to help them.
00:21:18Yes.
00:21:18I always am ready to offer my opinion.
00:21:21And for some reason,
00:21:23they don't look to me anymore
00:21:24in this seat than they did
00:21:26when I was coaching.
00:21:27They have not looked over here once
00:21:29in the game.
00:21:30I can report.
00:21:3184-65.
00:21:35The foul called on Shammett.
00:21:38Brown fades away
00:21:40and hits the back of the iron.
00:21:42Towns has got another board.
00:21:43And that's great defense again
00:21:45by Ananobi.
00:21:4718 points,
00:21:48eight rebounds
00:21:49for Carl Anthony Towns.
00:21:50Kolek fouled by Simons
00:21:52and he's frustrated.
00:21:57I mean, he's working really hard,
00:22:03but that was a pretty obvious foul.
00:22:06First foul in the last two minutes.
00:22:09And the blue light is on.
00:22:11The bucket will go away.
00:22:13So Kolek,
00:22:14who thought he had his second field goal,
00:22:17didn't happen.
00:22:19Well, everybody in here
00:22:20except you and I
00:22:21thought he had his second field goal.
00:22:23We knew.
00:22:24We knew.
00:22:2482-65 New York.
00:22:2727.8 on the clock.
00:22:2815 to shoot.
00:22:35Knicks have Ananobi, Towns,
00:22:37Shammett,
00:22:38Hart,
00:22:39and Kolek.
00:22:40Boston with Brown,
00:22:41Pritchard,
00:22:42Simons,
00:22:43Gonzalez,
00:22:44and Boucher.
00:22:47Kolek
00:22:47to the rim
00:22:48and knocked out of there
00:22:50by Boucher.
00:22:51He read it perfectly.
00:22:52Gonzalez met by Shammett.
00:22:54Off-balance delivery.
00:22:55No.
00:22:56And out of bounds.
00:22:57The next one will take over.
00:22:58Well, that's a great job by Shammett
00:23:00not getting out of the way,
00:23:02getting his hand on the ball.
00:23:04Gonzalez thought he was fouled,
00:23:05and since he's my guy,
00:23:06I'm going to say he probably was.
00:23:08I didn't actually see the play.
00:23:11No, no.
00:23:11I just liked the guy.
00:23:12I saw you looking the other way.
00:23:15Corner.
00:23:16Shammett put it on the board.
00:23:17It's a three.
00:23:18Or take it off the board.
00:23:20Offensive foul.
00:23:23Boucher took the hit.
00:23:24Shammett doesn't get the points.
00:23:27And the Celtics will have one last shot
00:23:29before the end of the third.
00:23:31Oh, that's a great call.
00:23:37They called the foul on Towns.
00:23:38Definitely held him.
00:23:40Boucher has done a fabulous job
00:23:42all night rotating out.
00:23:44Blocked a couple of threes,
00:23:45and on that one,
00:23:46draws a foul.
00:23:49Yeah, Boucher is going to take a seat.
00:23:52Hauser back in for the last second setup.
00:23:54Brown, three seconds,
00:23:57two seconds.
00:23:59Brown looks at the clock.
00:24:00Fires.
00:24:02Hits the heel,
00:24:04and that is the end of three at MSG.
00:24:08The Knicks lead the Celtics 82-65.
00:24:11The NBA on prime.
00:24:12We lose my mind.
00:24:14Up in here.
00:24:16Up in here.
00:24:16I gots to bring it to you, Coward.
00:24:18Then it's going to be quick.
00:24:19Contorts his body.
00:24:21What's the foul?
00:24:22Kato slams it down.
00:24:23Towns a three.
00:24:25The lefty finish, Towns.
00:24:27No hesitation.
00:24:28Y'all gonna make me do my mind.
00:24:33The all-star combination
00:24:35for the New York Knicks
00:24:37has produced Jalen Brunson
00:24:3919 points through three-quarters of action
00:24:42and Carl Anthony Towns
00:24:4418 points, eight rebounds.
00:24:48The Knicks up big on the Celtics
00:24:50as we start the fourth.
00:24:52Brunson on the bench.
00:24:56So it's Bridges, Colick, Clarkson, McBride, and Towns
00:25:03starting backcourt for the Celtics struggling.
00:25:07White two of nine.
00:25:08Pritchard one of seven.
00:25:09And there is a Pritchard three.
00:25:11You could see almost a look of relief
00:25:14after it went in from three-point territory.
00:25:17Oh, absolutely.
00:25:18Pritchard now seven for 34
00:25:21going back to the preseason from three.
00:25:24Two for 13 now on the season
00:25:26in the two games.
00:25:28McBride couldn't answer
00:25:29but the offensive rebound
00:25:31for Carl Anthony Towns.
00:25:33He'll fade.
00:25:34Rims out.
00:25:35The board to Boucher.
00:25:38Dirk Nowitzki, one foot fade away.
00:25:43And a foul called.
00:25:44Colick defending Pritchard.
00:25:46Well, this is where Pritchard is more comfortable, right?
00:25:51He's playing against second-unit guys.
00:25:54The start of the season.
00:25:58It's going to be an adjustment.
00:25:59Not saying he can't do it.
00:26:02Not saying he won't be a good, productive starter.
00:26:04But it is a different role as it is for all of these guys.
00:26:09There's White way outside.
00:26:1110 to shoot.
00:26:13Gets the screen for Boucher.
00:26:15And then White takes the angle.
00:26:16Gonzalez crashing the boards.
00:26:19And he gets the tough bucket.
00:26:22Well, his effort's been tremendous tonight.
00:26:24Obviously, he's made a big impact
00:26:26just with his effort in athleticism.
00:26:30Six points, three rebounds in 13 minutes
00:26:33in his NBA debut.
00:26:3519-year-old Hugo Gonzalez.
00:26:37Colick goes behind the back,
00:26:38but Simons is there.
00:26:40Simons gets it back.
00:26:43Denied by McBride.
00:26:45They couldn't take advantage of the break.
00:26:48Instead, it's a Clarkson three.
00:26:50Towns offensive board.
00:26:51Put back, no.
00:26:52Put back again, no.
00:26:53Moses Malone ties his foul.
00:26:58That was a great analogy that Moses Malone had the rebounding stats
00:27:04and still get two free throws.
00:27:06I guess what?
00:27:07He's at 12 boards now.
00:27:09Yeah, there you go.
00:27:09Boom.
00:27:10Throw it up there.
00:27:11Get another one.
00:27:12Get another one.
00:27:12That's just great effort by Carl Anthony Towns.
00:27:18And on that last fast break, that was Boston's probably best fast break opportunity tonight.
00:27:24Gonzalez should have shot it, and they still do not have a fast break point tonight.
00:27:31Joe, free throws here for Towns.
00:27:33He can crack 20 points on the night.
00:27:35The NBA on prime is brought to you by State Farm.
00:27:40Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there.
00:27:44Carl Anthony Towns.
00:27:4512.8 rebounds last season.
00:27:50The highest single season total since Bob McAdoo in the late 70s for the Knicks.
00:27:56I love it any time we can bring a Bob McAdoo reference into the broadcast.
00:28:01I worked with Bob for a lot of years in Miami, one of the great shooting big men in the league,
00:28:09and one of the great people in the game.
00:28:12My goal is to mention at least one of your friends each broadcast this season.
00:28:17Well, a guy like me has so many friends because I'm such a great guy.
00:28:21Not really, actually.
00:28:22No, true.
00:28:24Solid point.
00:28:24It's an area I think I might run out after the seventh game.
00:28:28That's the problem.
00:28:3184-72 Knicks.
00:28:33Boston getting a little bit closer here.
00:28:37Towns, that's a deep three.
00:28:39He's got it.
00:28:41Bob McAdoo and Dark Nowitzki, among others, may disagree with me,
00:28:46but Carl Anthony Towns is the best shooting big man of all time.
00:28:51And the Fat Joe reaction on the cat triple.
00:28:56Well, Fat Joe, I'm his guy.
00:28:59Wait.
00:28:59I said one friend per broadcast.
00:29:01No, no, no, no, no.
00:29:02Fat Joe put me in one of his songs years ago when I was coaching in Miami,
00:29:08instantly added to my street cred.
00:29:10Instantly.
00:29:11I don't even remember the lyrics.
00:29:13Do you know the lyrics?
00:29:13No, I don't.
00:29:14No, I don't.
00:29:15That's sad.
00:29:15I don't remember it.
00:29:17It is sad, but I always like to see Fat Joe.
00:29:20But I want to hear our studio show.
00:29:22I want to hear what Dirk has to say about me calling Carl Anthony Towns the best shooting big man of all time.
00:29:29Yeah, why are you creating beef already between the studio and the site?
00:29:33Hey, listen, I don't want to create beef.
00:29:38I just think, to me, Dirk, Bob McAdoo were every bit as good as shooters,
00:29:43and Patrick Ewing worked on my staff for five years.
00:29:46I have so many friends here, Ian.
00:29:48I'm so many friends.
00:29:51I'm just, like, such a personable guy.
00:29:54But I think with Carl Anthony Towns shooting,
00:29:57it's just that the volume of threes has gone up so much.
00:30:00Those guys were never shooting that shot, at least not to the frequency.
00:30:05So that's why I'll give it to Carl Anthony Towns.
00:30:0887-74.
00:30:09They pressure Kolek, and he could not get it to Bridges.
00:30:14Well, I'll tell you what.
00:30:16These second unit guys, Boucher and Gonzalez,
00:30:21are creating a lot more of the pressure that Joe Missoula wants,
00:30:27and then they are attacking the basket down here at the other end,
00:30:32a much more aggressive unit on the floor for the Celtics.
00:30:38I think Joe Missoula likes the unpredictability,
00:30:42that you're not quite sure what the rotation is going to look like
00:30:45if you're playing the Celtics.
00:30:46You're not quite sure what the starting lineup is going to be,
00:30:49and he's going to use that to his advantage.
00:30:55Simons has a second free throw coming.
00:30:57He can cut it to 12.
00:30:59Well, and that's something that his boss, Brad Stevens, did when he coached.
00:31:03Brad thought he got an advantage by not having a predictable rotation,
00:31:09so the other coach doesn't know when guys are going to come in and out of the game.
00:31:14The Celtics are now 8 of 10 at the free throw line.
00:31:19The Knicks are 18 of 19, and that's a foul call on the drive on the floor.
00:31:24Towns wanted the basket and the harm.
00:31:29He's not going to get the basket.
00:31:31Boucher's working real hard,
00:31:32but Boucher has to know that Towns, while he can go both ways,
00:31:38really prefers to go to his left hand.
00:31:42It's about a 50-pound difference between the two.
00:31:45It looks even bigger than that when you look out on the court.
00:31:48It may be more.
00:31:49I mean, I weigh more than Boucher.
00:31:52Well, let's set that up.
00:31:54We'll have a weigh-in next time we have the Celtics.
00:31:57Turnover.
00:31:58Well, they're creating a lot of them here in the second half.
00:32:02That's now 17 Knicks turnovers.
00:32:05White couldn't hit the three.
00:32:07That would have cut it back to single digits.
00:32:11Brunson missed it, and it's rebounded by Gonzalez.
00:32:15He's got pretty good hops, too.
00:32:17Timeout.
00:32:19Boston.
00:32:2112-4 game, 8.38 remaining.
00:32:23Fourth quarter.
00:32:24We're back to Madison Square Garden after this on Prime.
00:32:28Welcome back.
00:32:28The NBA on Prime presented by Wingstop.
00:32:32We're at Madison Square Garden.
00:32:35And the music that you're hearing tonight, this is our NBA on Prime theme song.
00:32:41Hip-hop artist and actor Common is here.
00:32:45The Grammy winner, along with musicians and composers Kareem Riggins and James Boiser,
00:32:50they made history by composing that song, Victory.
00:32:54That's the official theme music for the NBA on Prime.
00:32:59And it's outstanding.
00:33:02Common has never had Stan Van Gundy in one of his songs.
00:33:06No.
00:33:06But we're going to change that.
00:33:08Big Sean has, along with that joke.
00:33:10Kata missed it.
00:33:12Gonzalez tried to get the offensive rebound.
00:33:15And the Knicks control it with Bridges back in.
00:33:19Brunson, he gets the step.
00:33:21The pull-up.
00:33:22Missed it.
00:33:24Kata is there.
00:33:26Eight minutes to play.
00:33:27Still plenty of time for Boston.
00:33:29Largest lead has been 24.
00:33:30White can't hit the three.
00:33:32They've had a few opportunities to cut this to single digits.
00:33:35And Towns is out of bounds, so Boston will retain.
00:33:39Now, Derek White really struggling tonight after a good first game the other night.
00:33:47With 25 points, even though he struggled from the floor.
00:33:52And we have a challenge on who actually was out of bounds.
00:33:59Well, New York was one of the best last year in challenging behind Jordan Brink,
00:34:04the man making the calls.
00:34:07So the call was Towns out of bounds.
00:34:10They're going to take a look at it.
00:34:11We'll have the result when we come back.
00:34:16Well, the challenge is successful.
00:34:19What it allows you to do is check to see if there was contact, which there was.
00:34:25There was.
00:34:26Anything proximate to the play.
00:34:29And the foul was on Pritchett.
00:34:32So the Knicks maintain a challenge.
00:34:34Bridges couldn't get it to go.
00:34:37Knicks have struggled here in the fourth quarter.
00:34:39The Celtics' second unit guys, the energy guys, really got them back into the game.
00:34:45Hauser in and out on a three.
00:34:48And the ball leaks out to Clarkson.
00:34:50Knicks are one of nine from the field in the fourth quarter.
00:34:52And the Celtics have had two great looks.
00:34:56And Brunson floats it up and in.
00:35:0289-75 when you need a bucket.
00:35:06Brunson provides it.
00:35:07Pritchett misses from three.
00:35:08That's three wide-open threes.
00:35:11There's a fourth.
00:35:12And Hauser snaps it in.
00:35:15About time.
00:35:16Kato with the offensive rebound to keep that possession alive.
00:35:21And Hauser now has six threes.
00:35:24Six for 10.
00:35:24And the rest of the team, six for 27.
00:35:27Brunson turns on Gonzalez.
00:35:29Gonzalez sticks with it.
00:35:30And Brunson picks up the foul.
00:35:32Time for Fly Better Moments presented by Emirates.
00:35:40Brunson, great pivot.
00:35:42One of the best in the league.
00:35:44And then just evades.
00:35:47Simon's help there.
00:35:48Draws contact and hits the floater there.
00:35:52This guy's outstanding.
00:35:54One of the best in the league, especially.
00:35:56Small guard and not a high flyer.
00:35:59He was the clutch player of the year in the NBA last season.
00:36:04How about the fact that he has scored the most points in Knicks history
00:36:11the first three seasons a player has been with the franchise?
00:36:16Wow.
00:36:16And they've had some players here.
00:36:18Yeah.
00:36:19They've had some players.
00:36:2290-78.
00:36:24Brunson attacks on another.
00:36:2623 points for Jalen Brunson.
00:36:32Got the Timberwolves and the Lakers coming up here on Prime after we're done here at MSG.
00:36:38Brown spills to the floor.
00:36:40Pritchard penetrates.
00:36:42White knocked out of his hands.
00:36:43And Clarkson is there.
00:36:45But he couldn't grab it.
00:36:47Hauser does.
00:36:48Shot clock reset.
00:36:49I'm not sure it should have.
00:36:50Brown stumbling and tossing it away.
00:36:54And it didn't matter because he ended up turning it over.
00:36:57But I'm not sure it should have reset.
00:36:58Well, ball don't lie.
00:37:00Ball don't lie.
00:37:01Okay.
00:37:02So you're a disciple of Rasheed Waller.
00:37:04I am.
00:37:05Okay.
00:37:05Good.
00:37:06I think he's right.
00:37:08It doesn't lie.
00:37:09Sometimes it does.
00:37:11Bridges missed it.
00:37:13Off the rim.
00:37:14Brown hesitating.
00:37:21He's got 15 points on 6 of 14 from the field.
00:37:25Six turnovers.
00:37:27White cornerback is good.
00:37:29Well, they need Derek White to shoot the ball better than he has tonight.
00:37:33That was a big one.
00:37:34And they got it down to 10.
00:37:36Last year, he set a franchise record for made threes in a season.
00:37:40And that trifecta has cut it to 91-81.
00:37:445.57 to go in the fourth.
00:37:49Wingstop.
00:37:50Lemon pepper all flats.
00:37:51Lemon pepper all flats.
00:37:53Lemon pepper wings.
00:37:57Lemon pepper wings.
00:37:59Oh, man.
00:38:00Wingstop, lemon pepper all flats for Blake.
00:38:03Seriously?
00:38:04Over here.
00:38:05Wings.
00:38:08Lemon pepper wings.
00:38:10All these wings.
00:38:11They're so good.
00:38:12For one man.
00:38:13Need a fry suit.
00:38:14Price, price, price, price, price.
00:38:15With lemon pepper wings.
00:38:17Wingstop's here.
00:38:20In the second half, the Knicks have been held to 31% shooting.
00:38:24The Celtics have shot it at 52% from the field.
00:38:28Well, and also, 15 Knick turnovers after four in the first half.
00:38:34Boston's defense has really picked up.
00:38:37The ball movement to White.
00:38:42White has put up 10 points.
00:38:44He shot it just 3 of 14 from the field.
00:38:462 of 9 from three-point territory.
00:38:48But the Celtics hanging around here at the Garden.
00:38:52Well, because of their defense in the second half.
00:38:54But going forward, they're going to need those three guards, Pritchard, White, and Simons, to shoot the ball a lot better from distance.
00:39:02In the two games, those three guys are 11 for 46.
00:39:07Josh Hart is in.
00:39:10They were keeping an eye on his minutes coming off the lower back spasms.
00:39:15Ogie Ananobi in as well for New York.
00:39:18Eight to shoot.
00:39:19Brunson one-on-one.
00:39:20Fakes out Hauser.
00:39:22Halfway down and out.
00:39:24Offensive rebound.
00:39:25Mick Bride can't hit the three.
00:39:27Another offensive board for Hart.
00:39:29The drive and deuce.
00:39:32It's Jalen Brunson.
00:39:35But that's Josh Hart making an impact on the game.
00:39:38Two offensive rebounds to create that bucket with New York struggling to score.
00:39:45Jalen Brown gets into the teeth of the defense.
00:39:49And Brunson was the last defender near the rim.
00:39:53Ogie Ananobi is hurt.
00:39:54And Ananobi, he cannot put any weight on one leg.
00:39:59Right now, they're four on five.
00:40:02Ananobi trying to get involved in the play, but he can't help them.
00:40:07They let it go all the way to nine before they took the timeout.
00:40:11That timeout should have come a lot earlier.
00:40:13Ananobi awkwardly making his way to the Knicks bench area.
00:40:17He'll step aside with 4.57 to go.
00:40:19He went up in the air, landed awkwardly right there.
00:40:27Yeah, let's hope that's not serious.
00:40:32They're working on him over there on the bench.
00:40:37Anthony Gonaga, the athletic trainer for New York.
00:40:41And the Knicks don't get it in.
00:40:43Five-second call, Bridges.
00:40:45That is 20 turnovers for the Knicks.
00:40:52Boston gets it back, trailing by 10.
00:40:564.50 on the clock.
00:41:01Pritchard tried to drive in on McBride, swing it.
00:41:05Brown.
00:41:07Short.
00:41:08Long rebound.
00:41:09Hart trying to save it.
00:41:10And he could to Carl Anthony Towns.
00:41:14And it's going the other way.
00:41:16That's just a great effort by Towns to stay with that.
00:41:20Stick his nose in there with contact.
00:41:24He's got to try to gut this one out with four and a half minutes to go.
00:41:26The second half has been a major struggle offensively for New York.
00:41:31They are stretching out Ananobi around the Knick bench area.
00:41:37Runs in for two.
00:41:39Well, again, if he's going to get to his left hand, you're going to be in trouble.
00:41:44He's got 27 now.
00:41:46They're manipulating the left leg of O.G. Ananobi.
00:41:51Pritchard goes behind the back.
00:41:53White.
00:41:54Comes up short on a three.
00:41:56It's an air ball.
00:41:57Now, one of the probably underrated parts of the game tonight, Deuce McBride has been fabulous on Peyton Pritchard.
00:42:06Fabulous.
00:42:07It's not just Peyton Pritchard missing shots.
00:42:10He has dogged him all night long.
00:42:14Brunson draws two defenders.
00:42:17Now, Kato backs off.
00:42:20Brunson one-on-one with White.
00:42:22Shot clock down to two.
00:42:24Brunson lost it.
00:42:26Towns.
00:42:26He beat the buzzer but could not convert.
00:42:30Brown going right down the middle, and he's fouled.
00:42:40Two free throws for Jalen Brown.
00:42:47There have been some positive things here in the second half for Boston.
00:42:52Foul called on Hart.
00:42:56Jalen Brown just two free throw attempts tonight.
00:43:02He's made one of them.
00:43:07Next Thursday, a showdown in South Beach.
00:43:10The Ravens head to Miami to take on the Dolphins.
00:43:13Thursday night football coverage begins at 7 Eastern only on Prime.
00:43:21Another one here for Jalen Brown.
00:43:26The tip-in wears off.
00:43:31White got in there, and the ball knocked out of bounds off of Boston.
00:43:35There's absolutely no way Derek White got to that without being in early.
00:43:40Not a chance.
00:43:43Derek White, one of the top.
00:43:44Yeah, way early.
00:43:45Rebounding guards.
00:43:46He just tried to time it perfectly.
00:43:48Yeah, it's great.
00:43:49The officials didn't see it.
00:43:50But it was a violation.
00:43:51Yes.
00:43:53Again, balled on line.
00:43:55Oh, good point.
00:43:56Didn't go in.
00:43:57Maybe you'll become a believer.
00:43:58I'll tell you what.
00:43:59You and Rashid are two of the game's greatest philosophers.
00:44:03What's the order?
00:44:05Jumper doesn't go for Hart.
00:44:06I'm not sure on that yet.
00:44:08Brown, give it up.
00:44:10Kata, knocked away by Brunson.
00:44:13And a foul is called.
00:44:16That's a foul, but that is a great play in transition by Jalen Brunson.
00:44:22Ooh, I'm surprised we don't get a challenge on that.
00:44:28There's a lot of basketball there.
00:44:31Well, I am surprised.
00:44:38Mike Brown's teams have always been great with transition defense.
00:44:42Even in Sacramento, they weren't a great defensive team,
00:44:45but they gave up the fewest fast break points in the league.
00:44:48That's only the second fast break point tonight for Boston,
00:44:53both of them at the free throw line.
00:44:55Second one here for Namiya Shkata.
00:44:5971% career shooter.
00:45:01He goes one out of two.
00:45:04Ten-point game.
00:45:09Three minutes to go at MSG.
00:45:10Hart surrounded by three defenders.
00:45:13Towns will give it up.
00:45:15Eight to shoot.
00:45:16Prunson, the spin on Pritchard.
00:45:17Gets around him.
00:45:19McBride.
00:45:20Got a three.
00:45:22Huge.
00:45:27Huge three.
00:45:28He struggled tonight, too, but that was a big one.
00:45:31All five starters now in double figures.
00:45:34McBride gives the Knicks a 13-point advantage.
00:45:38Brown gets to the cup.
00:45:40It's a nice left-handed finish.
00:45:42Brown, it looks like he's gotten a lot better going to that left hand.
00:45:4620 points now for Jalen Brown.
00:45:492-20 to go.
00:45:53Brunson gets it back from Hart.
00:45:55He draws Brown as the defender.
00:45:59Six to shoot.
00:46:00Brunson makes his move.
00:46:02Inside.
00:46:02Downs with the crank.
00:46:07Off the main basket, White returns the favor with a jam.
00:46:11Well, that's a great push, and that's the pace the Celtics would like to play.
00:46:17Towns is fouled by Kata.
00:46:22Time now for Close Connections, presented by WhatsApp.
00:46:27Look at this pass by Jalen Brunson down on the baseline, finds McBride with that bounce pass.
00:46:37And then Brunson again to Kata.
00:46:40And crazy foul there by Nemesh Kata.
00:46:44I don't know why we're coming all the way out there and fouling a guy who is a great free-throw shooter.
00:46:5284% in his career.
00:46:54Carl Anthony Towns now in season number 11.
00:46:59And the Stan Van Gundy kiss of death.
00:47:02Good foul.
00:47:02As time winds down here in New York, we're going to be getting you out to Los Angeles when we finish here at the Garden.
00:47:12But if you're looking for Wolves-Lakers, you can find it.
00:47:15It's very easy.
00:47:16Click down on the remote.
00:47:17Click on the Now tab.
00:47:19And then you just click Wolves-Lakers.
00:47:22All part of the experience of the NBA on Prime.
00:47:28One out of two for Towns.
00:47:30101-89.
00:47:321.50 to play.
00:47:37High screen.
00:47:39Brown uses it and connects for three.
00:47:44It's a big one.
00:47:46Finally get it to single digits.
00:47:48101-92.
00:47:50White defending Brunson.
00:47:51Screen from Towns.
00:47:55Knicks using clock.
00:47:579 to shoot.
00:47:58Into the trusted hands of Brunson.
00:48:01Switch.
00:48:01Overhauser.
00:48:02He's got it.
00:48:04The Clutch Player of the Year with 1.24 to go.
00:48:09Knocks down a huge one.
00:48:1130 points for Jalen Brunson.
00:48:14Set it up for White.
00:48:17He's fouled.
00:48:17And a chance for four.
00:48:19On target.
00:48:21Straight away.
00:48:21Trey McBride picks up the personal.
00:48:25Wow.
00:48:30McBride was trying to back off.
00:48:33But there was enough of a graze
00:48:35that it caught the officials' attention.
00:48:40White now with 15 points.
00:48:421.14 on the clock.
00:48:49Missed it.
00:48:53Hart ahead for Bridges.
00:48:56Hart double.
00:48:57Back off now.
00:48:58McBride.
00:48:58There's the blitz.
00:49:02One minute to go.
00:49:06Swing.
00:49:07Hart.
00:49:08He got White off balance for a moment.
00:49:10Shot clock is down to three.
00:49:11Hart turn around.
00:49:12No.
00:49:13And the box out there by Brown.
00:49:1548 seconds to go.
00:49:18Nine-point game.
00:49:20And Brown just tossed it into the front row.
00:49:23And that should about do it.
00:49:25That will do it.
00:49:27I think he just knocked over all the gum.
00:49:32Well, Josh Hart has struggled shooting the ball.
00:49:341 for 8 tonight.
00:49:36But in 18 minutes, Josh Hart has 13 rebounds.
00:49:40Six on the offensive end.
00:49:43He's made a major impact in this game
00:49:45on a comeback from back problem.
00:49:48Played seven minutes in the first exhibition game.
00:49:52Had not played since.
00:49:54And came in and made a huge impact tonight.
00:49:56And Stan, Hart has been a starter for the Knicks.
00:49:59We don't know what this is going to look like moving forward.
00:50:02There is a chance that he's part of the second unit.
00:50:05Mike Brown has said they haven't determined
00:50:09what the set starting five is going to be.
00:50:13But Hart has come out and said,
00:50:14hey, whatever the team needs me to do,
00:50:16I see myself as a starter.
00:50:17But I'm going to do what the team needs me to do.
00:50:19Right.
00:50:20And I think the key thing is,
00:50:22we saw what happened tonight.
00:50:24Even though he's on limited minutes,
00:50:26he was back in there to finish this game
00:50:28when things started to get a little scary.
00:50:30And now the Celtics will empty their bench.
00:50:37Amari Williams is in.
00:50:39Jordan Walsh in.
00:50:40Baylor Shireman in.
00:50:4240.3 on the clock.
00:50:45Shabbat will replace Carl Anthony Towns.
00:50:47Another big game for him.
00:50:51Double-double.
00:50:5126 points.
00:50:5313 rebounds on the heels
00:50:54of the 19-point performance
00:50:59double-digit rebounds against Cleveland
00:51:03Wednesday night.
00:51:05I'm going to make a prediction right here.
00:51:08I'm going to say when we go to the studio
00:51:10and they talk about this game
00:51:12that Udonis Haslam is going to be
00:51:15as big a fan of Hugo Gonzalez as I am.
00:51:19Another friend of yours?
00:51:20Udonis?
00:51:21Well, yeah, because he helped me win a lot of games.
00:51:23So he's a real good friend.
00:51:25But I know what Udonis values,
00:51:28and I think Udonis Haslam
00:51:29will echo my love for Udonis.
00:51:32And what Knicks fans value is effort.
00:51:36And they saw it from this squad tonight.
00:51:40Final seconds.
00:51:43In the first of four meetings
00:51:45with the Boston Celtics,
00:51:46this one belongs to New York.
00:51:51105-95, the final.
00:51:55The Knicks improved to 2-0.
00:51:57Celtics fall to 0-2
00:51:59to start the 25-26 season.
00:52:02Boston had its first loss in a season opener
00:52:08under Missoula the other night.
00:52:12And now the Celtics will have to travel to Detroit
00:52:16to take on the Pistons on Sunday afternoon.
00:52:19Send it over to Cassidy Hubbard.
00:52:21Jalen, all five, as he's saying hello to Jason Tatum,
00:52:26all five starters in double figures
00:52:29and ten guys total making an impact on the floor.
00:52:33What's starting to click so well for this group under Mike Brown?
00:52:36That we're learning on the fly.
00:52:38We're getting better every single day.
00:52:40Played two really good teams.
00:52:42And we just found a way to win.
00:52:44They kept fighting until the end.
00:52:45And just keep finding a way.
00:52:482-0 to start a season with high expectations, Jalen.
00:52:52So, how do you communicate to your team
00:52:55to sustain this energy going forward?
00:52:59Just telling them this doesn't mean anything.
00:53:01No, we can say we did a good job tonight,
00:53:04but tomorrow we're on to the next one focusing on Miami.
00:53:07And taking it step by step.
00:53:09Congrats on the win, Jake.
00:53:09Okay, thank you.
00:53:10Back to you.
00:53:12All right, Cassidy.
00:53:13It is a New York win on its home floor.
00:53:19And this is a New York fan base
00:53:22that expects big things from this franchise this season.
00:53:26Off to a 2-0 start.
00:53:27Well, their defense was great, and the stars came through.
00:53:32Knicks win it over the Boston Celtics.
00:53:35For Stan Van Gundy, Cassidy Hubbard,
00:53:36the rest of our Amazon Prime crew,
00:53:38Ian Eagle saying, so long from New York.
00:53:40You've been watching an NBA on Prime,
00:53:42exclusive home of the Emirates NBA Cup.
00:53:45Welcome to The Crossing,
00:53:47presented by Universal Orlando Resort.
00:53:53Big night for Big Cat.
00:53:55I'll ask UD, but I think he earned that nickname in this one.
00:53:58Scored 26 points.
00:54:00Knicks moved to 2-0 on the season
00:54:01with the win over the Celtics at MSG.
00:54:05So, UD, did we see Big Cat tonight?
00:54:07I look like a Thundercat.
00:54:08Big Cat look like a Thundercat tonight.
00:54:10I'm with that.
00:54:12With just rotating nicknames.
00:54:13UD, you crown everybody each game.
00:54:16Anything but Bodega Cat.
00:54:17We're just not going to go with that.
00:54:19Thundercat.
00:54:19I like it.
00:54:20Thundercat.
00:54:21Steve, I love seeing a really focused Jalen Brunson
00:54:24in that interview.
00:54:2631 points from him.
00:54:27What did you like from their guard tonight?
00:54:28One of my favorite players.
00:54:30Clutch player of the year last season.
00:54:31He made all the big plays down the stretch.
00:54:33You know, he's just such a tough cover.
00:54:34You know, this turned into a small ball game.
00:54:37You know, Cat being kind of the lone big
00:54:39for many stretches out there.
00:54:41Jalen just got his way at the end of the game.
00:54:42Made a bunch of tough shots in play.
00:54:44Celtics, I thought, played really hard
00:54:45and hung in there.
00:54:46But Jalen was too much.
00:54:48What did you like from Jalen Durr?
00:54:50Yeah, I love Jalen.
00:54:51I think he makes quicker decisions.
00:54:53He's a clutch shooter.
00:54:55He makes the right plays.
00:54:57He's so under control always.
00:54:59Always plays off with two feet in the paint.
00:55:00Always got the up fakes.
00:55:02That is tremendous.
00:55:04Overall, I didn't think Boston was good enough today.
00:55:07Obviously, we know without Tatum,
00:55:10there's going to be a lot of pressure on Pritchard,
00:55:12White, Simons to score, help Brown out to score.
00:55:15They just couldn't score enough.
00:55:17They were cold from three, kept shooting threes,
00:55:19couldn't really get going.
00:55:20They couldn't rebound the ball on the defensive end.
00:55:23So, overall, just couldn't score enough.
00:55:25They couldn't rebound.
00:55:26And, Blake, one thing you said that was glaring
00:55:28is it isn't just about the fact that they don't have Jason Tatum.
00:55:31It's about no Chris Stops.
00:55:33It's about no Al Horford, no Drew Holiday.
00:55:36Where are all the gaps for the Celtics?
00:55:37Yeah, I mean, those were huge roles for the Celtics
00:55:40the last couple of years.
00:55:41Al Horford was the voice.
00:55:42He was the heart and soul of the Celtics.
00:55:44So, to miss all those guys,
00:55:46it's a completely different team.
00:55:48It's going to take some time.
00:55:48I will say Hugo Gonzalez.
00:55:51Hello.
00:55:52My gosh.
00:55:53Kid earned himself some minutes tonight.
00:55:55And a man crush.
00:55:56If you get Stan to say something nice about you,
00:56:01you can do a hell of a job.
00:56:02If there's nothing else, you got a fan in Stan.
00:56:05He was fantastic.
00:56:06And knowing Joe Mazzula, he is going to lean into that.
00:56:10The kid was all over the floor.
00:56:11That's the type of effort you want.
00:56:13When you're in a situation like this,
00:56:14when you don't have your stars,
00:56:16and you just lost a bunch of players,
00:56:18come out and play hard every single night.
00:56:20It's the one thing you can control.
00:56:22So, Celtics fans are going to love him.
00:56:24Joe loves them.
00:56:24They just need more of that.
00:56:26Celtics fans, though, won't love no fast-break points
00:56:29for the Celtics.
00:56:30And this is now.
00:56:31They haven't started the season 0-2
00:56:33since the 21-22 season.
00:56:35So, a few things to fix.
00:56:36Just game two.
00:56:37We'll see how they continue to progress.
00:56:39But for our game two,
00:56:40we have Timberwolves-Lakers.
00:56:42Western Conference matchup.
00:56:44I know that we are hype about you.
00:56:46Dee, I got to start with you.
00:56:47You want to jump out that seat.
00:56:48Talk about Anthony Edwards.
00:56:49Yes, I do.
00:56:50I would love to see Ant-Man start it off
00:56:52by setting the tone defensively.
00:56:54We saw this in the playoffs.
00:56:55We saw him set the tone against Steph.
00:56:57We saw him set the tone against Jimmy Butler.
00:56:59We saw him take the matchup against SGA.
00:57:02We've seen that.
00:57:03If your team watch you take the matchup
00:57:05against the other team's best player,
00:57:07maybe not the whole game,
00:57:08but just to start and set the tone,
00:57:10those guys just follow.
00:57:11You lead and we'll follow.
00:57:12He can do that.
00:57:12He has the ability to be a two-way player
00:57:14any given night he wants to be.
00:57:15Absolutely.
00:57:15I love Ant.
00:57:17I just need to see more from the rest of the team.
00:57:18Last year, they were in so many clutch situations.
00:57:21Ant had great numbers.
00:57:23Their team-wise,
00:57:24they didn't have the record to show.
00:57:27So I would love to see more from their support staff.
00:57:30Julius Randle had a great year last year.
00:57:32Julius Randle leading them in assists.
00:57:34It's probably an issue.
00:57:36They need to remedy that,
00:57:37but this will be a great game.
00:57:39They have depth issues.
00:57:40They just announced that Dante DiVincenzo's the point guard,
00:57:43so they're not sure what's left with Mike Conley.
00:57:45They don't think Dillingham's ready, obviously.
00:57:47So now they're playing Dante with six turnovers
00:57:49and is uncomfortable necessarily taking on that responsibility in game one.
00:57:53I mean, they've got some challenges ahead of them.
00:57:55They can't all be on amp.
00:57:56Dirk, I mean, there's really no hiding from it right now.
00:57:59The question for the Lakers is,
00:58:01what are they going to get out of DeAndre Aiton?
00:58:03So what do they need out of Aiton?
00:58:05Yeah, I mean, they need a rolling presence, clearly.
00:58:08Obviously, Luka plays so well with the vertical spacer,
00:58:11and, you know, he needs to roll.
00:58:13He needs to be above the rim.
00:58:14He needs to catch a finish.
00:58:15That also opens up all the shooting outside,
00:58:17the Ruiz, the Gabe Vincent.
00:58:19They need to, obviously, they need to get open shots.
00:58:22They're not really great at creating their own.
00:58:24So Luka and Reeves need to create all those shots.
00:58:28Aiton's got to roll.
00:58:29He's got to finish at the back.
00:58:30He's got to catch the ball.
00:58:31He's going to duck in.
00:58:32So they need him to be a little more aggressive,
00:58:35and I think they're going to play off each other better,
00:58:37I think, from game to game.
00:58:39It's amazing what happens to a team when your big man rolls early.
00:58:43If you roll the first three, four, five possessions, it's not that many.
00:58:47Roll five possessions in a row and see what happens for everybody else,
00:58:50and then see what happens for you, the back end of the game.
00:58:53Exactly.
00:58:54Look, they're going to find ways to score with Luka.
00:58:56LeBron comes back.
00:58:57Austin, for me, the defense for the Lakers is going to be the Achilles heel.
00:59:01How do they defend?
00:59:01They have no natural defenders per se.
00:59:04I think they're going to have to defend by committee.
00:59:06Last year, I thought J.J. put them in a position to be in the gaps,
00:59:08keep people out of the paint.
00:59:09But then how mobile are they on the back line?
00:59:11How good are they reading and reacting, runners, shooters off,
00:59:13low man shifting over?
00:59:15That's going to be a big challenge for this Lakers roster.
00:59:17And also, I'm thinking about it.
00:59:18I'm looking at teams now playing without a point guard.
00:59:20We saw Houston play without a point guard.
00:59:21We see Minnesota possibly playing without a point guard.
00:59:23And I'm looking at you, one of the best point guards of all time.
00:59:26How do you see this working out for these teams
00:59:27in a different style of play right now
00:59:29with five guys being able to play the point and being positionless?
00:59:32Like this point guard by committee thing is difficult, okay?
00:59:34It sounds good.
00:59:35You've got guys that can handle some of it,
00:59:37but when they pick up your best player full court all night,
00:59:39you don't want him handling the ball all night.
00:59:41But then who's going to handle it?
00:59:42Other guys that are uncomfortable.
00:59:43So I think we underestimate a little bit
00:59:45just how important it is to have someone just calm the team.
00:59:47Oh, really?
00:59:48Oh, really?
00:59:49We underestimate it.
00:59:51Some people say the point guard is the most important position.
00:59:54Thanks, Steve.
00:59:55Thanks, yeah.
00:59:56After a quick break, it's time for Tip-Off Anthony.
00:59:59I think it's time for you to be able to play it.
