After a young father is strangled to death and abandoned on a remote country road, authorities must track down and interrogate a group of friends who each have something to hide.
Transcript
00:00I've been keeping everybody back, we've taped it off with a healthy amount of distance.
00:19There's no obvious signs of trauma, but there's drag marks in the ditch, footprints, tire tracks.
00:27He's in the ditch.
00:30He's obviously dead, but here's the weird thing, he ain't got no shoes on.
00:35I want to know what killed him, because you'd think he'd see a gunshot wound or blood or a stab wound or something.
00:40Seems like this dude was dead before he got here and they dumped him in the ditch.
00:47Every suspect accused of a crime has the right to remain silent.
00:51Many agree to be interrogated anyway, but they can stop the interview at any moment, making it a race against time.
01:00Justice hangs in the balance.
01:04We were all kind of getting ready to go home.
01:08We were all kind of getting ready to go home, and then the call came in.
01:22At that point in time, all we had was an individual basically lying on the side of the road, obviously deceased.
01:33This was a remote road, way out in the middle of nowhere.
01:41Somebody specifically, purposefully had to come down this road and dump this body.
01:46The state of his body was in full rigor.
01:52He hadn't started decomposition.
01:54There were no bugs present on or around him.
01:57So it was fairly fresh.
01:59It was probably within 12 hours from the time he was killed.
02:02We started looking at social media and just immediately realized that this was not Nathaniel Jackson.
02:24This was his brother, Levante Jackson.
02:27One of our mutual friends called me, I was at work, and he told me that Levante was gone, and it was really just kind of like a shell shock moment.
02:44Like, I didn't know what to say.
02:47It feels like, you know, time kind of stopped.
02:54To a lot of people, Levante seemed like a typical 23-year-old guy, you know, but to everyone that knew him, he was fierce, fierce friend, fierce brother.
03:08My first impression of Levante was, how can anyone get through a single day having that much confidence?
03:18It was a really infectious positivity.
03:24Levante is an athlete.
03:28Very quick, very strong.
03:29With football, if he had the ball in his hands, and you found yourself in his path, chances are you were getting run over.
03:41I'd like people to remember Levante as a son, a brother, a friend, a father.
03:47He's got two daughters.
03:50A young man with everything ahead of him, and everything to give to this world.
03:59Detective Simpson and I both kind of noticed this thin kind of red line that went across the front of his neck.
04:16And we didn't see any other trauma.
04:22We got thinking that, okay, this is probably a strangulation case.
04:25He's got sandy dirt on top of his right foot.
04:31Top of his left foot is clean.
04:33One of the biggest things we notice is we're in the middle of a dirt road, but there's no mud on his socks.
04:40They look pretty clean.
04:43That was a huge red flag for us, which made us think that maybe he was dumped here.
04:53It had rained that day.
04:55And the ground was soft.
04:56And there was obvious tire tracks leading up to where the body was dumped.
05:01And we could see that he was drugged and dropped on the side of the road.
05:15There's a pudding cup with fresh pudding on the ground.
05:18It's not deteriorated very much.
05:21Pudding dries out after a while.
05:22We didn't know if it was related or not related at the time, but we went ahead and seized it.
05:29Once we finished recovering Levante's body, our next step was to find out who he associates with.
05:43And what we did determine is that he had a girlfriend and the mother of his child, Chelsea Martin.
05:50Once we got her in, I felt really good that she was not involved in his death whatsoever.
06:13She wanted us to do everything in our power to be able to try to catch the people that killed him.
06:20Chelsea started telling us he had been not running with the greatest crowd of people, so to speak,
06:26including this female named Lydia Riggs, basically pointing out that Levante had last been seen with Lydia.
06:33Lydia had texted that herself, Wonder Bread, and David were all there when the murder took place.
06:58Lydia said she was there in Wonder's room when Levante died.
07:08Wonder Bread was a street name.
07:10We took these names, gave them to our crime analyst, and asked him to see if he could find out who these people really were.
07:16We learned that Zachary Whitcomb was a 19-year-old petty criminal.
07:33He had been in trouble for small stuff before.
07:37David Adair was a 26-year-old convicted felon with a history of violence.
07:41Lydia Riggs was the girlfriend of David Adair.
07:48So I had a team trying to locate Lydia, trying to locate David, and locate Zachary as well.
07:54Our confidential source told us once they realized that Levante was dead, the suspects all began to panic.
08:23The only person they knew they could persuade to help them get rid of the body was Mark Brannock.
08:31Mark Brannock.
08:43Mark kind of knew that I was investigating the death of Levante.
08:48He wanted to talk to me and kind of clear his name, I guess.
08:52We ended up meeting at a gas station, not too far from the sheriff's office.
08:55And once he showed up, we didn't see his vehicle.
09:06That was a huge red flag.
09:07And I think it was even a bigger red flag
09:09that he didn't want to talk about it,
09:10didn't want to say where it was at,
09:11didn't want to elaborate on how he got there.
09:14I asked him, I was like, man, you OK
09:16with coming to the sheriff's office with me?
09:18Let's just talk about this.
09:19I feel like it'd be good for you to get this off your chest.
09:22So he eventually agreed and went to the sheriff's office with us.
09:39Let's have a seat with you.
09:42Yeah.
09:42Just have a drink or something?
09:43Yeah, that'd be awesome.
09:44OK, give me one second.
09:46Anything.
09:46Give me one second.
09:52He was nervous.
09:55I was worried he was going to request an attorney
09:58right off the bat.
10:02I wanted to tippy-toe into that conversation
10:04before we start going down the incident itself.
10:06Obviously, I definitely want to get your side of the story.
10:19All right.
10:19Cool.
10:20But are you OK with talking to me?
10:22Yeah.
10:23OK.
10:24Where is your car at now?
10:27Honestly, man, I don't know.
10:30I don't know.
10:31I just don't know what I can say.
10:33I'm worried that I'm going to get in trouble for something I didn't do.
10:36And honestly, man, to be honest, I don't care about that.
10:38I'm just asking you, dude, where are the cars at?
10:39Even though I don't care about that.
10:40I mean, OK, let me ask you this.
10:41If you're in my position, right, we meet up with you.
10:44And ironically, that car is not with you.
10:46Yeah, that's going to look good.
10:47Right.
10:48So, because to me, it looks like you're trying to hide evidence.
10:51Levante's funeral was held at a small church, and it honestly kind of felt like the whole
11:08town showed up.
11:09It was an incredible turnout of people that cared very deeply for Levante.
11:14Levante could definitely get along with anyone.
11:18I can't tell you how many times I would think that he had known someone like he had known
11:22them for years, but it would be his first time meeting them.
11:25He would go up and shake their hand or hug them, get them involved in the jokes or a pickup
11:29game of football or something.
11:31He loved people the same way, no matter you were related to him by blood.
11:35And how we all loved him, it's just unconditional love, you know?
11:41I'm asking you, I just want to be able to have a ride when I got back, whenever you
12:06dropped me off.
12:07So, where's the car?
12:08It's behind IDA.
12:09Go ahead.
12:09You look at it all you want, because I didn't hide anything.
12:12Okay.
12:13I'll be right back.
12:14Okay?
12:26God, you guys don't even listen to me.
12:28After I got Mark's vehicle, we were able to identify his tires, two tire impressions on
12:41the crime scene.
12:42In the back, we found that pudding cup, which we were able to relate to the pudding cup that
12:55we located at the crime scene.
12:57I didn't do anything.
12:59I didn't do anything wrong.
13:05All right, man.
13:07So, here's what's going to happen.
13:09We're going to hold on to the car, because that was used in that incident.
13:12I understand.
13:13You understand that part?
13:14I understand completely.
13:14Let's just start from the beginning, and just kind of walk me through from the beginning
13:19and go from there.
13:21I'm always trying to help people, man.
13:23That's all I ever try to do.
13:24I mean that.
13:25Right.
13:25Like, from the bottom of my heart.
13:26That's all I ever try to do.
13:27Right.
13:28You can ask anybody.
13:31They called me and said, 911, we need help.
13:33We need help.
13:34We need to take us into town.
13:36You know.
13:37Who called you?
13:38It was Wonder Bread.
13:40Wonder Bread called you?
13:41I don't even know his real name.
13:42I had met Wonder Bread maybe two weeks before.
13:44One time, I had met David the day before.
13:48Okay.
13:49Maybe two days before, at the most.
13:51And I knew Lydia was there, and I wanted to protect her, because I knew she didn't need
13:55to be around those people, man.
13:56And I knew it, and I didn't want her to get hurt.
14:00So what happened after you got there?
14:03I pulled in, and they told me to back up, and they were going to put clothes in the back,
14:07and they did.
14:08They put a bunch of clothes, and they put a big duffel bag, and all that s***.
14:11Okay.
14:12So they told you to come to that house.
14:15Okay.
14:15They tell you why?
14:17They did not tell me.
14:18They never gave you a reason to come?
14:19They never did.
14:20You never asked?
14:20I swear, no.
14:21Man, if they need help, I was just going to go help.
14:24I help people.
14:25Okay.
14:26Usually if somebody says 911, it's because somebody's getting hurt.
14:29So I thought, they're going to get killed if I don't go up there.
14:32When they told you to back in, and they started loading stuff in your car, I mean, what was
14:37your thought process then?
14:39Keep my eyes forward so that they don't get mad at me.
14:43Don't ask questions.
14:44What did you think they were loading up?
14:46Clothes.
14:46I swear, I thought it was clothes.
14:48He's getting to a point where he's just, you know, bulls***ing you.
14:52It sounds like a lot of shadiness coming from, you know, your buddies, and they're telling
14:55you to do these certain things, and you're just doing it.
14:58You're not questioning it.
14:59You're just doing it.
15:00But the bulls*** can go for so long until it's time to talk about what actually happened.
15:04Lydia, Wonderbird, and David all got in your car.
15:09Yes.
15:09And who says where to go?
15:11I think it was David.
15:12We went straight down the road towards, you know, there's, I don't know the damn names
15:17of the roads, but we took a right outside of Wonderbird's house.
15:20Then we went out.
15:20But at no point, they told you where they were going?
15:23No.
15:23I swear, no.
15:24They didn't know.
15:25Until we passed a dirt road, did they even tell me that we were going to go down a dirt
15:30road?
15:30Okay.
15:30Until we were right there and said, hey, we're going to go for a walk.
15:34Stop the car.
15:35You know, they didn't tell me anything, man.
15:38I swear to God.
15:39They got their stuff, and they told me to go down, wait five minutes, and come back up.
15:43And so I went down, and I sat there with Lydia for a minute, just like, calm her, like,
15:48saying, everything's going to be all right.
15:49Like, why are you crying?
15:50And she wouldn't tell me anything.
15:51So Lydia was crying in the car?
15:53Where were the other two?
15:55They were off with their bags.
15:57Okay.
15:58So whenever you're talking with Lydia, what did she tell you?
16:03Nothing.
16:04She didn't tell me anything about this.
16:05She said, I'm scared.
16:06I'm scared.
16:07And I thought she meant, I'm scared of them.
16:10Like, I'm scared of David and Wonderbird and what they're going to do to me.
16:13Like, I started getting scared, man.
16:15I was like, what the f***?
16:16Like, what did they do?
16:17What did they do?
16:18Like, and, you know, I'm just scared.
16:22I'm scared that I'm going to get in trouble for something.
16:24I didn't even know what happened.
16:25So did they tell you they would meet you at the bottom, or how did they do?
16:27No, they just said, just come back in five minutes to where they were at.
16:31Okay.
16:31And then they got back in the car?
16:32Yep.
16:33I'm letting them talk, but in the back of my mind, I'm thinking, this is a bunch of BS.
16:39He knew at that point what was in his car.
16:42I think he knew what they were doing.
16:44I wanted him to keep talking and venting, and that way, when I challenge him later, it's
16:51going to come out.
16:52I did not get out of the car at all, I swear.
16:55I just want to go back, man.
16:56They had the music pranked.
16:58That means don't listen to them.
17:00Okay.
17:00Don't listen to what we're saying.
17:02So I just want to go back, man.
17:03Whenever all this happened, what day was that?
17:06Dude, I'm...
17:07Okay.
17:10So it's like, I can't really remember.
17:13You have your phone, honey?
17:15Yeah, but it's dead.
17:16Damn it.
17:17Well, let me see it.
17:18We can charge it.
17:19That's okay.
17:20It's not a big deal, dude.
17:23Okay.
17:24I'll tell you.
17:25Here.
17:25The best way this is going to go down, dude, is if you're going to f***ing transparent
17:29with me.
17:29Okay.
17:30Because I'm trying to be transparent with you.
17:32That's serious.
17:32But right now, I'm getting a lot of bulls*** whenever you're f***ing telling me that your
17:35f***ing phone's dead.
17:36It's just the phone dead thing.
17:39I was tired of his bulls***, I guess, is the best way to say it.
17:44You know, I knew his phone wasn't dead from that point on.
17:46I was done with him venting.
17:47So let's f***ing, let's cut the bulls***, and why don't you be honest with me and tell
17:53me what happened?
17:54That's exactly what I'm doing.
17:56It's just, I just, I don't want you to go through all of my stuff because I've got so
17:59many people on here.
18:00You know, I know so many people.
18:02And I, like I said, I'm a nice guy.
18:04I don't want to incriminate anybody who doesn't need to be incriminated because they weren't
18:07even a part of anything.
18:08Like, this is just, like, drug, you know?
18:11I don't care about drug s***.
18:14That's not what I'm concerned about.
18:15Okay, cool.
18:16That's what I need to do.
18:18All right.
18:19Thank you for that.
18:21I'm going down through, looking for it.
18:24Um, Wonder Bread, that's what we need to find.
18:25Is it Wonder Bread?
18:26Can I see it?
18:27Can you show me?
18:28Yeah.
18:29Wonder Bread.
18:35Let me see it real quick.
18:36Oh, man.
18:36No, give me your phone now.
18:38Okay.
18:39So, let's start over.
18:41Well, I need my phone back.
18:42No, you're not getting your phone back.
18:44Your phone is going to be seized from this point.
18:47Now I know what you're doing.
18:49You're trying to get me to confess something.
18:50I'm not getting you to confess anything.
18:52I want you to be honest with me.
18:54Because you're feeding me a lie to a s***.
19:09The only way I can help you is if you are very transparent with me and you're honest with me.
19:17Okay.
19:18When did you realize that there was a body in the backyard bar?
19:24The next day.
19:25Like, I just, I knew it somehow.
19:29I just knew.
19:31Did Lydia tell you?
19:32Nobody told me, dude.
19:33Nobody's told me this.
19:35Okay.
19:35Nobody's going to straight out tell me that they committed a crime like that.
19:38So, whenever we talk to Wonder Bread, Lydia, and David, none of them are going to say that they, that you, that you knew nothing about any of that?
19:49If they do, they're lying, man.
19:51I didn't do anything wrong.
19:53Okay.
19:53From the bottom of my heart.
19:54I swear to God.
19:56With Brandon, it got to a point where he just, he wanted to talk and bull s*** and just feed, feed these lies.
20:04So, I think if I didn't put a stop to it, he would have just kept doing the same thing.
20:09All right, man.
20:10You're going to be arrested and you're going to be charged with abuse of a corpse.
20:14Abuse of a corpse?
20:15What's that mean?
20:16It means you had the chance to call 911 and you failed to do that.
20:19I really didn't have the chance.
20:20You told me the next day you knew there was a body in the backyard.
20:23I get it, but the law is the law, man.
20:25I can't avoid that.
20:26Are you ready?
20:27All right.
20:27Yep.
20:27Go ahead and stand up for me, sir.
20:28Gotcha.
20:29Go ahead and stand up.
20:30Yes, sir.
20:31May I get a drink?
20:31I'll drink.
20:32I'll drink.
20:32I'll drink.
20:35We had David Adair in the wind.
20:43We had Lydia Riggs in the wind.
20:45And we had Zachary Whitcomb in the wind.
20:49These are suspects in a homicide and they're out free walking around.
20:52So we got to track these people down.
20:54Zachary was so groggy and tired.
21:23Probably coming down off of some type of drug.
21:26Zachary.
21:28So I kind of wanted to see how far I could get and how big of a hole he would dig himself into.
21:33Let's just go back from the beginning, kind of just the facts of what happened, what you saw, what you know.
21:41David Adair told Levante to take Zachary's flag, which is his gang handkerchief.
22:03It's a sign of disrespect.
22:04Was Levante, like, straddled you on top of you, holding you down?
22:08Was he holding your arms down or was he holding your arms down?
22:11I was holding my arms.
22:11I was holding my arms.
22:12I was holding my arms.
22:13Okay.
22:14And then David hopped on and off.
22:18He just came around with a chokehold.
22:21And I started getting into panic and started squirming more, pushing us backwards off the bed.
22:29Okay.
22:30And then we all hit the floor.
22:32And that's when Barry started squeezing tighter and Levante was struggling more.
22:43What was Levante doing?
22:44Was he trying to pull his arm or anything?
22:46Yeah, he was kicking his feet, trying to make noise.
22:49Okay.
22:50So I sat on his feet.
22:51And then Lydia jumped on, too, to help part his feet, because I was getting thrown around.
23:02We put a gag in his mouth so he couldn't scream.
23:05And Levante's?
23:06Mm-hmm.
23:07Okay.
23:08And then?
23:09So Levante went up.
23:11Okay.
23:12And last morning, we all started panicking and doing chest compressions.
23:18Okay.
23:19Okay.
23:20Okay.
23:21And after they stopped that, and we put them sleeping bag to them on that porch, and we
23:26started making phone calls for a ride.
23:29Honestly, I would expect Zachary at that point to, you know, have some feelings about
23:35what they had done.
23:36But he was emotional-less and didn't have a lot of empathy for what had happened.
23:40You think David wanted to kill him?
23:45I think so.
23:46Did he ever tell you that?
23:48Mm-hmm.
23:49Okay.
23:50I've heard you false claiming.
23:52According to Zachary, Levante was false claiming, which means, you know, claiming to
23:57be in a gang that you're not in.
23:59I really didn't know at this point.
24:01But it was possible that there was a price tag on Levante's head for that.
24:06Yeah.
24:07I think so.
24:08I think so.
24:09I think so.
24:10No, man.
24:14No.
24:28Now, we needed to move forward and go search for David
24:31and to go search for Lydia.
24:34The way we look at it is we're out to get justice for Levante.
24:40And we can't stop until we get these people arrested.
24:44This is priority number one.
25:11David finally had gone home to crash, and his mom called in to the sheriff's office
25:15because they had been to her house before.
25:20Our guys went in, secured David without incident.
25:23We took him to the Benton County Jail, and we put him in an interview room.
25:30Yeah.
25:33Yeah.
25:33between david and lydia david was going to be more of a challenge
26:02he has been through the system before and there was a chance that he was going to shut us down
26:06in the beginning and not agree to talk so we felt lydia would be the best next target to interview
26:15well where would you like to start at what's the easiest place for you to well obviously i can
26:19tell you everything i have because it won't stop playing in my head yeah yeah that's tough i know
26:26i didn't even realize that there was anything wrong they were all acting fine like they were
26:35best friends and then like david said something to me back and him and levante started wrestling
26:42around and i was like okay it's just boys being boys and then david jumped into it too
26:49and it just it kept getting worse
26:58i'm sorry that's okay those tissues are pretty efficient but
27:01after they put levante on the floor and started choking them out they kept saying stop stop stop
27:09trying to get them both stopped anybody did you want to do what david asked them to do
27:14what do you what do you what do you tie his hands and feet with willpin belts he just tied his hands and
27:22feet and they hard tied him and david just kept choking him
27:27choking him down i wasn't big enough to get him to stop levante kept telling him to stop
27:39and then levante quit moving and i was trying to check his pulse he was really weak
27:45i couldn't find my fault anyway
27:49lydia told us pretty much the same thing that zachary did except she played the victim
28:06she acted like she was upset like she was no part of it she didn't look at us a lot whenever she would
28:12answer our questions like she would kind of hide by that emotion and it seemed like she always tried
28:18to minimize her involvement but according to zachary lydia held his feet down she helped and her part
28:26was just as big as zachary's now it's time to put on a little bit of pressure and see what happens
28:37i've been doing this 18 years which isn't forever but it's just quite a bit of time
28:41and anybody i have ever talked to who was a witness or something they're they're always it's just human
28:46nature to kind of minimize their involvement a little bit to some degree and so usually you know
28:52an honest person is going to be about you know 85 to 90 percent you know honest and and so i just kind
28:58of wrote out a skill here from zero to 100 percent just to kind of see where you think you're at with
29:04what you have told us here today if you would you would you would write down where you think you're at
29:10okay that's all i'm saying i'm just i didn't think i did okay
29:17you see me nearly right here okay so pretty good for 90 95. so you showed here that that you might be
29:28you might be off by about five to ten percent what if i told you wonder bread's story wasn't quite the
29:34same as yours that you were a little more involved what damn him he said i was more involved he did
29:50he's a liar okay well listen we just want to get to the truth you know if you if you for a split
29:59second you decided to to help to help her okay a lot and i just got pushed away i tried to get him
30:06off of him i did everything i could to stop it i don't want to help that okay just for just for a
30:14second did you help hold his legs down when he was kicking did you jump on and help no you did not
30:21anything like you're crying right now but you're you're you're not really crying those are crocodile
30:34tears i can't cry no more my eyes are crying out to me i've been crying since yesterday all day
30:43just be completely honest with us okay just tell us the last little five percent that you haven't told us
31:07sometimes when we talk to people like this they they like to give us a version of the truth
31:11right and i feel like you're giving us a version of the truth but you're not giving us the complete
31:16truth we want to understand i promise i need to help with anything we know you helped us legs
31:27no i didn't we know what happened we just need we need to hear
31:33you're holding his leg down did you sit on i put my knee on when i was trying to get david off
31:42that's what i did okay so you helped you held his leg down maybe not with your hands not on purpose
31:50is it something you did and you just regretted it
31:52i tried going on to the side of david and grabbing you
32:07he said hold down his legs is that what happened you just put your weight on his legs
32:12to make him keep his legs down on one on one of his legs i was scared that they would hurt me
32:19if i didn't do what he said right and i and i get that
32:23i didn't want to help with that
32:26i was freaking almost there you you've come come a little little little bit further into the truth
32:33but i really i didn't help i think this is going to be looked at it two different ways okay and i'm
32:39going to be honest with you i think it's going to be looked at one way where it's going to it's going
32:43to be you david and wonderbread planned and killed this kid okay or i think it's going to be looked at
32:53as you know nothing about this but you're definitely involved in it i've been okay yeah
33:03you helped hold his legs down while david choked him out but it's one or the other
33:09so are you going to be the monster and did you guys plan this out i didn't help
33:16bottom line okay you had an opportunity to not sit on his legs and you had an opportunity
33:23to get this guy help and you did not i tried you didn't scream you never called 9-1-1 you never
33:28called the cops you helped kill this guy no i did not you sat on his legs okay you may
33:36you may have you may have you may have not choked him and did what david did but
33:43in the process of david choking him you helped by sitting on his legs and not letting him move his
33:48body for like two three minutes how long do you think it takes for somebody to be choked out
33:54i don't know i don't know it's just like it takes less than two to three minutes i can tell you that
33:59ultimately i think all of you contributed to the death of levante i think we can all agree on that
34:15okay when she makes a comment of her sitting on this guy's legs that sealed the deal for me
34:30i think everything kind of crumbled on her at that point it was a little bit of a victory getting to
34:37that point for her to finally be honest with herself and we got what we needed got the truth
34:51this interview with david this isn't his first rodeo he's been in and out of prison for many
35:07years he's an alpha dog so he was going to be the toughest one we weren't sure going in if he was
35:14actually going to talk to us all right okay sorry it took a little bit yeah get a nap just
35:29again i'm detective jeff simpson we're here from vincana sheriff's office this is detective connor
35:38here's what we do we ask you questions where you want to give your side of the story
35:42um you know we know a little bit about what's going on already got a pretty good idea we just
35:48want to hear it from your point of view how everything went down so you know i mean that goes
35:54and you can stop at any time you get to a point where you don't want to talk you stop that's your
35:59that's your choice i didn't know levante had passed you know what i'm saying i didn't even know
36:07levante was dead yeah we we already know we know what happened i don't know what happened yes you do
36:18i'm i'm being dead ass telling you what happened this is what happened saturday when i seen levante
36:23i was hanging out with zach we were all hanging out chilling we were all getting high i wanted to leave
36:30when i left zach's it was around one two in the morning early a.m early a.m sunday morning okay
36:38you just conveniently removed yourself from the exact time levante was killed if you're going to talk
36:44truth man right you better go back it up because you can't right now was it an accident maybe you guys
36:50were goofing off and you were high got out of hand panicked we can understand that man but just straight
36:58if i wasn't there i happened to disappear at this exact time thanks when i'm broke
37:19something like you're a monster if you're gonna deny it like that no come on no i'm not a monster okay
37:24okay then it was an accident tell us the truth
37:33did you wake up that morning and plan to go out there and murder levante or were you guys messing
37:39around high and something bad happened what i mean levante was my friend dude that's why we think it
37:45might have been an accident or you got out of hand that's what we think they didn't get out of hand
37:50with me and me and levante me and levante were close man i know i i believe you i believe that part
37:56i can see the emotion but you got to be honest with us so we know what what what happened you want to
38:01get it off your chest i can see it look man live dude bro look did it i was it an accident did you go too far
38:10come on come on what are you talking he was like quivering and his eyes were getting really red
38:21so i just grabbed my chair and moved it in on him at that point to box him in and
38:27you know make contact with him that's kind of when we went after him
38:30was it an accident did you go too far you can hear yourself sorry so listen to this accident or did
38:42you plan this you need to tell us
38:48so what what went down
38:51me diddy and jack we were in the bedroom we're all we're all doing a bump
39:00and i don't know what exactly wanted to do right but
39:19he got to he had to tie him up but at some point you jumped in i was trying to bring him up okay
39:25i grabbed the bonte
39:31and we fell on the floor we're falling on the floor all right do you remember what lydia was down she was
39:36sitting on the bed and then she jumped on in with us all right i was holding him and trying to break
39:46them two apart mm-hmm and
39:52i mean i mean you know choked out whatever okay so you went left yeah okay you i was i choked him out
40:01i had no intentions on killing nobody i didn't i feel in my heart i didn't kill anybody
40:10mm-hmm

40:35it's up
40:36his story had fallen apart and i don't think the crime was for levante i think it was
40:43they got me it's for david we'll be right back in just a minute
40:50we had overwhelming evidence and confessions the confessions are one thing but also we were able
41:06to back it up with evidence having the car the tire tread the snack pack pudding cup
41:12in and outside the car
41:14this made for a very tight case and everything kind of just came together
41:20the book that didn't come together and we had to maintain the facts about the car
41:30and everything happened to the car ivan
41:30to the car
41:31this was the only thing i've ever seen in the car
41:32i can't believe that the car had happened to be a living the car

42:11Their actions led to Levante's death.
42:13They stuffed him in a sleeping bag and they disposed of him like a piece of trash.
42:19They took a life that they didn't need to.
42:22They're all exactly where they need to be, in prison.
42:26We got justice for Levante's family.
42:33The worst thing we can do when we lose someone is not talk about them.
42:37It's how you keep people that you love with you.
42:42I've never met someone that loved as hard as he loved.
42:46If he loved you, he didn't love you halfway.
42:48He loved you all the way.
42:51I miss everything about him.
