00:00Welcome to today's exciting season opener for the Phoenix Suns.

00:04The Phoenix Suns kicked off their 2025-26 season on Wednesday,

00:08and former center Amari Stoudemire had the privilege of taking the ceremonial first free throw.

00:13Unfortunately, Stoudemire's attempt was a bit too powerful,

00:16hitting the back iron and missing the mark.

00:19Despite this, the moment resonated well with the fans present.

00:23Suns reporter Amanda Flugrad spoke with team owner Matt Ishbia about the significance of the ceremony,

00:27and Ishbia expressed his desire to invite former franchise players to participate in game openings,

00:34similar to how first pitches are thrown in Major League Baseball.

00:37Stoudemire, who recently referred to Suns advisor Steve Nash as the

00:42best pick-and-roll partner I ever had,

01:12but they started to make a comeback by focusing on their defense

01:15and capitalizing on second-chance opportunities.

01:18By the end of the third quarter, Phoenix had reduced the gap to just two points,

01:23with a score of 92-90.

01:25The Suns' strong team defense, highlighted by a high-energy performance from new player Dylan Brooks,

01:31along with crucial three-point shots,

01:33enabled them to complete their comeback and secure a 120-116 victory.

01:39Devin Booker was the top scorer of the game, finishing with 31 points,

01:43while center Mark Williams contributed six points and grabbed 11 rebounds in his debut with the Suns.
