00:00Let me give you the full breakdown of the Phoenix Suns rookies in the G League.
00:05This past Thursday, the Valley Suns staged an impressive comeback to defeat the San Diego
00:10Clippers 1-21, 1-18, and the spotlight was firmly on those two new draft picks.
00:17Common Malawach was absolutely dominant. He finished with 22 points, a huge 19 rebounds
00:23and 4 blocks in just 32 minutes of play. He even hit a 3-pointer. Here's the real headline.
00:31Over his last three G League games, he's averaging a monstrous 21.3 points, 16 rebounds, and 3.3
00:39blocks. After a 27-point game earlier this month, head coach Jordan Ott talked about focusing on his
00:46overall progress, not just one game, and that progress looks incredible. His teammate Rashear
00:53Fleming hit the game-winner in that last game. While he had a tougher shooting night this time,
00:57going 5-for-17 for 13 points, he made his presence felt defensively with three steals.
01:03Through four G League games, he's averaging 16.5 points and 8.3 rebounds. But here's a stat that
01:11shows their true impact. On Thursday, they had by far the best plus-minus on the team.
01:17Malawach was a plus-118, and Fleming was a plus-117. Damian Baugh also nearly had a triple-double
01:24with 23 points, 11 rebounds, and 8 assists, hitting a clutch go-ahead 3-pointer with just
01:292.2 seconds left to cap off a 16-2 game-ending run. A couple of quick notes. Kobe Bray was out
01:36due to concussion protocol, and former Suns guard Ty Ty Washington Jr. scored 18 for the opposing
01:42Clippers. Their next test is a road game in Utah on Monday. It'll be the first G League road game
01:47for both Malawach and Fleming. Meanwhile, the main Phoenix Suns team is off until Sunday,
01:53when they host the Lakers. So, here's my question for you. With this level of production in the G League,
01:59how soon do you think we'll see Malawach getting consistent minutes with the main Phoenix Suns roster?
