Ecco la nostra intervista a Malcolm Spellman, creatore di The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, la serie Marvel/Disney che ha debuttato il 19 marzo su Disney+ e che ogni venerdì, per sei settimane, è disponibile con un nuovo episodio. Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Wyatt Russell, Emily VanCamp e Daniel Brühl sono i protagonisti della serie.
00:00It seems to me that these two superheroes are on the verge of a breakdown. Is it right?
00:09Yeah, it's actually not just them. It is Sharon, John Walker, Zemo, Sam, and Bucky all start off in one place and go through a very, very difficult process.
00:22And each one of them, I believe, emerges as a very different person, a deeply affected person.
00:29And the series show us how difficult is it to return to normality after five years of absence due to the bleep?
00:37How current is it all of this?
00:41The entire series felt relevant to us. You know what I'm saying?
00:44Like all the issues the characters are dealing with from race to trauma to betrayal to American exceptionalism, right?
00:52All these characters embody the discussions we're having right now in the world.
00:57And the blip was the perfect way to capture this feeling that people are having, that things are changing.
01:06And then once the tragedy of coronavirus hit and shut us down, we were able to even more clearly draw lines from the blip to the global pandemic today.
01:21And just create like this universal cluster F that everyone's dealing with.
01:26Did you change anything because of the coronavirus?
01:30Yeah? From the script?
01:32We already had the blip in place and we were already dealing with it.
01:38But once coronavirus shut us down, we were able to shift things.
01:42And it's small, but it was a lot of stuff so that it really built connectivity between the pandemic we're dealing with today and the global event of being post-blip.
01:53Yeah, that worked out for us.
01:55I only see the first episode, but I'm pretty sure that we will suffer same in this series, same as in VandaVision.
02:04Is it right?
02:05Yeah, it's going to be tough. You know what I'm saying? Yeah.
02:10You don't want to tell me why, but it's okay.
02:13Oh, good. We can't do that. I get yelled at. They're changing the basement.
02:17The challenge of this series was to give that to two characters who are being linked to Captain America, usually.
02:26So how did you do?
02:27We knew first we wanted to tell their individual stories, right?
02:33Just as them.
02:34That's one of the things Kevin wanted from the beginning was to make sure they existed on their own before you meet them as a team.
02:41But then we built a world that has a post-blip problem that only Captain America could solve.
02:51So the whole world wants Cap.
02:52And then you have these two characters who had a mutual best friend who was Captain America.
02:59so they're dealing with Cap.
03:01And then you have the shield, which is if you was trying to avoid it, you know what I'm saying?
03:06It's right there in your face, whether it's in their hands or John Walker's hands.
