00:00Let's address the elephant in the room.
00:03Wilson Fisk?
00:06Yeah.
00:07You know, this show was written two years ago,
00:12and I think that it's really,
00:16I don't think there really is a lot of similarity there, to be honest.
00:20I think that Wilson Fisk is a character who's unique.
00:25He's thinking about his legacy.
00:26He is the party of Wilson Fisk.
00:32And, you know, Stan Lee used to call Marvel
00:35a mirror to the world outside your window,
00:38and I think we were, you know,
00:39we just are just trying to write the best story we can
00:43for characters that have existed for over 60 years.
00:49Of course.
00:50And the Netflix series was very violent and harsh,
00:55but in this rebirth, the tone seems to be much more desperate.
01:01Matt looks very desperate, like in comics,
01:05where Devil is a character without hope, basically.
01:09And have you ever been tempted to make him lighter or more fun?
01:14When you're on the creative side, you fall in love with the characters,
01:20and sometimes you just want to give them a happy ending and make it all okay.
01:25But, you know, they live in conflict.
01:28You know, we love them because they make big ethical decisions
01:31that inform us as the audience.
01:36And Matt is certainly a character that battles with his own morality all the time.
01:44And we love him for it because he's going to make decisions that, you know,
01:50for justice that we hope that we would make if we were in similar circumstances.
01:56MCU has had a great success in movie theater,
02:01with comic book stories adapted to the cinematic form.
02:05The series, on the other hand, have greater potential
02:09because they have the same episodic nature of the comics,
02:13but they have not yet the same strength of the movies.
02:17What could be the secret to giving TV series the same charm,
02:21the same success of Marvel movies?
02:25I love this question.
02:28I think that it's been a, it's, you know,
02:33we've learned a lot in our time making television,
02:35and it's my goal to make television shows that feel like television shows,
02:40that run for multiple seasons,
02:43that can be about characters that you live with and revisit over time.
02:50And at the beginning,
02:52the shows were designed to interact with the movies a lot
02:55and feel like standalone stories.
02:58So they were a limited series format.
03:01Now we're transitioning to more of a traditional television format.
03:07Okay.
03:07Thank you very much.
03:08Just one word.
03:10Defenders.
03:10Any comments?
03:11I love those characters.
03:16Okay.
03:17So, finger crossed.
03:19Thank you very much.
03:20Thank you.
03:20Okay.
03:21Thank you.
03:21Thank you.
