Trascrizione
00:00Do you like Rome?
00:01Love it.
00:02Well, I like Italy.
00:03I like Italy.
00:04Rome...
00:05Rome's cool.
00:06Rome's Rome.
00:07Yeah, it's okay.
00:08But it's a little bit like Los Angeles.
00:09I mean, you know, a city's a city's a city.
00:11But when you get outside and you get to...
00:13Especially in the wine country, that's what I like to do.
00:15I like to go into the wine country.
00:16I know, I know.
00:17During your career, you played everything.
00:19Santa is the only wine you miss it.
00:22Yeah, no, not anymore.
00:24I was excited about it.
00:25When I read the script, I just thought,
00:28this is a wonderful opportunity.
00:30Yeah, because throughout my life,
00:32I've tried to take characters and make them memorable.
00:35And some of them become iconic.
00:38People really...
00:39You know, they make little figurines and dolls and stuff about them.
00:43So I know it meant something to them.
00:45And that it mattered.
00:47And I played Elvis Presley, who was an icon.
00:50This reminds me of that.
00:52Because this is where you're not creating one.
00:54You're playing one.
00:55And I wanted to learn as much as I could about him.
00:58He's fascinating.
00:59Saint Nicholas, who was born in 283 A.D.
01:03His allure and mystery and myth and legend around him has existed for 1700 years.
01:10And it's really unusual, Santa, this one.
01:13Yeah, yeah.
01:14Oh, yeah.
01:15He's so funny.
01:16He's dealing with his fame.
01:19I love him.
01:21As you've been working in the industry since many years,
01:25do you think Netflix has changed the way doing cinema or movies?
01:30And if you say yes, how?
01:32Well, I don't know if they've changed it, but they've certainly broadened it.
01:36Not just Netflix, but also all the other companies that are involved with these long-form television shows that are so good.
01:44They improve.
01:45Oh, they're fantastic.
01:47The writing, the acting, the director.
01:49It's all fantastic.
01:51And there's just this tremendous arena now to play in.
01:56I think Netflix, working on this movie for the first time with Netflix, I didn't really think about it.
02:01To me, it's like as an actor, whatever you're going to do, you just got to go make it as good as you can possibly make it.
02:07That's my job.
02:08Who it's for, who it's being made for, doesn't really come into my world.
02:13But what was great about Netflix that can come into your world is we were left to ourselves to make the best movie that we could make.
02:22In other words, they bet on Chris Columbus.
02:24They bet on Clay Cadis.
02:25They bet on Kurt Russell.
02:27They bet on all the people that are involved with making the movie.
02:30And then they, you know, it's like they put their money down.
02:33Now they let you run.
02:34You're obligated to do the, you know, to do the work and come up with the best thing you can come up with.
02:38So I, that's a very legitimate question.
02:41I think it's just broadening the horizons of the world that we play in.
02:46Have you ever thought about the impact of your movie about the, on the people?
02:52Because, you know.
02:53Oh yeah, I mean, you know, I mean.
02:54It's something really.
02:55I was excited to meet you today.
02:57That's nice.
02:58I just think about the product, you know.
03:01I just think about the movie, the story.
03:03I'm pretty limited in that scope.
03:06I, I just want to make something that will hopefully be something that somebody really, really enjoys.
03:12Whether it's a scary movie.
03:13Whether it's, you know, a drama.
03:15A bad character.
03:16Yeah.
03:17No matter what it is.
03:18A comedy.
03:19You just, it's just really fun to try to create something that somebody's gonna, you know, have a good time with.
03:25Whether they're sitting in their home alone or whether they're watching it or whether they are at a theater of 2,500 people.
03:33An experience.
03:34I, I like that experience because it's really fun to see something with a group of people.
03:38Thank you for your character, by the way.
03:40Thank you.
03:41Thank you.
03:42Thank you.
03:43Thank you.
03:44Thank you.
03:45Thank you.
03:46Thank you.
