00:00I'm Tom Morris, Jr., and this is Fugitives Caught on Take.
00:22This guy has no regard for anybody else in the road.
00:25First up, we're in Dallas, Texas, where officers are in footwear.
00:55We're in pursuit of multiple suspects who they say have just fled from a stolen truck.
01:01Shots fired! Shots fired!
01:03Shots fired!
01:08Shots fired! Shots fired! Shots fired!
01:14Shots fired! Shots fired! Shots fired!
01:20Officers Travis Marks and Timothy Steed pulled into the complex.
01:27We don't have time. We're coming in hot now.
01:30But as they approached the suspects, just as the officers moved to block the truck in,
01:42the driver pulled out and rammed one of the cruisers.
01:51The driver and a passenger jumped out of the truck and took off on foot.
02:00A third suspect fell out of the truck, nearly getting crushed when the vehicle rolled off the hood of the cruiser.
02:18A fourth suspect, who was armed, then exited the truck, running in the opposite direction of the first two.
02:30Now, as officers Steed and Justin Gulley chase after the first two suspects, they hear gunshots.
02:39The two officers spot the fourth suspect running the opposite way and still holding a gun.
02:47They take cover before firing at him and then give chase.
02:55The third suspect, still under the truck, doesn't move and is quickly captured by Officer Marks.
03:01Stay on the f***ing ground. Don't f***ing move.
03:05Go with Kevin now. He's got the shooter. Go!
03:10Don't f***ing move.
03:13As the suspect under the truck is detained, officers catch up with the driver of the vehicle.
03:19We got one more gun. Hang on.
03:21I'm not going to be the...
03:23I'm not going to be a person. It's all in the closet.
03:26You're in the f***ing world.
03:28You're in the f***ing hands.
03:29With two suspects now in custody,
03:32officers continue to pursue the armed fourth suspect between buildings.
03:36He's running north! He's running north!
03:38He's running north!
03:40He's going to be running west of the complex.
03:42And towards the David Busters.
03:45He dropped his gun over here by the building.
03:47He's wearing an old black, black jacket. He took off his hat.
03:49Black mail.
03:50Officers running through the complex soon spot the suspect in the distance.
03:59Don't you f***ing move! Get on the ground now!
04:02What a good point!
04:03Southwest corner!
04:05He's on a white shirt!
04:06Well, get on the f***ing ground! Face down!
04:08Don't you f***ing move!
04:10Or he's behind the building near the sixth corner.
04:12As Officer Gully approaches, other officers attend to the suspect's gunshot wounds.
04:18Oh, f***ing move!
04:19I don't know if it's an ambulance!
04:20I'm going to send an ambulance!
04:21Where are you hit at?
04:23I'm outside.
04:24Okay. What is your name?
04:26Eric.
04:26Eric what?
04:27I don't know.
04:28He's got one up in the shoulder, one up in the left lung area.
04:31Just keep on breathing, man. You'll be all right.
04:33Officers have now detained three of the four suspects.
04:36The suspect caught under the truck was ID'd as 19-year-old Deontay Moore, who was already a suspect in a double murder case from a few months prior.
04:46He was arrested and soon charged with two counts of capital murder for that case and is currently being held on a $1.5 million bond.
04:55Moore was not charged in this case.
04:57The suspect who ran with the gun was ID'd as 17-year-old Eric Lampkin Scarborough.
05:03He was shot twice, taken to the hospital, treated, and released into police custody.
05:08He was charged with having a prohibited weapon.
05:11Per the Texas criminal justice system, Lampkin Scarborough will be charged as an adult.
05:17The driver, 21-year-old Damon Price, was charged with two counts of aggravated assault of a public servant and evading arrest.
05:26He was initially held on a $50,000 bond before posting a reduced bond of $5,000.
05:33All three cases are currently pending.
05:36As for the suspect who exited the vehicle second, he's still at large.
05:41No officers were injured during the incident, and police recovered four guns at the scene.
05:47Next, we're in Sacramento County, California, where deputies and highway patrol officers, including one on a motorcycle, are in pursuit of a suspect wanted for fleeing and eluding.
06:02Earlier, a highway patrol officer tried conducting a traffic stop on a car that was speeding.
06:10But when the suspect took off, a high-speed chase ensued.
06:16A sheriff's deputy and a canine officer soon joined in the chase.
06:27Now, the suspect weaves dangerously in and out of traffic at increasingly higher speeds.
06:33Sonny, I'll take over radio traffic.
06:36Approaching greenback number three in lane, 122 miles an hour.
06:40But just as the officer on the motorcycle closes in, the fugitive's erratic driving finally catches up with him.
06:48Oh!
06:48The driver slams his car into a biker and then crashes in a grassy embankment on the side of the highway.
07:06Traffic comes to a complete stop as officers and deputies pull up amid the scattered debris and the injured biker.
07:15Suddenly, before officers can move in, the suspect exits his vehicle, brandishing a large knife.
07:25Hey! Get out!
07:27Hey, stay in the car, you're gonna get bit!
07:29Get on the ground, you're gonna get bit!
07:30Get on the ground, you're gonna get bit!
07:32Come on, drop it!
07:33The suspect then, strangely, skips toward the biker.
07:37Drop it!
07:38Hey, get out!
07:39Get out!
07:39When the suspect ignores commands to drop the knife...
07:46Hey!
07:47Drop, drop it!
07:48...the deputy fires two shots...
07:50...and he falls to the ground, mere inches from the injured biker, knife still in hand.
07:59Stop!
08:00Drop it!
08:01Drop it!
08:02Drop it!
08:04Drop the knife!
08:05The suspect seems to have been neutralized.
08:09But then, suddenly...
08:12The suspect gets up and makes a move toward the biker.
08:22And officers open fire.
08:27Okay, we have a 9-on-1, shots fired.
08:31Officers are okay, suspect down.
08:34Start code 3, fire.
08:35Police found 80, used to greenback.
08:38Follow me up there, I'll kick the knife out of his head.
08:40All right, go ahead.
08:42Officers and a deputy carefully approach the fallen fugitive, who's still holding the knife.
08:52And start, uh, two medics.
08:55One for the suspect and one for, uh, an involved motorcycle.
09:00What's your name?
09:01Officers recovered the six-inch blade, secure the scene, and medics arrived to treat the biker and the suspect, later identified as 36-year-old Zachary Wolfscott.
09:16Wolfscott was taken to a hospital where he was soon pronounced dead.
09:19The biker, who broke 11 ribs, both clavicles, one of his knees, and both hands, was also transported to a nearby hospital where he spent 10 days in the intensive care unit and eventually made a full recovery.
09:34Next, we're in Onalaska, Wisconsin, where officers are pursuing a suspect for eluding and obstructing an officer.
09:45Earlier that evening, Officer Tyler Tilghese was on patrol when he reported a car weaving in between lanes on the highway, speeding and stopping in the middle of an intersection.
09:59B, Highway 16, Mandary Lane Overpass, Red Grand Am.
10:03Officer Tilghese initiated a traffic stop and approached the car, which was also occupied by a passenger.
10:11Hey! Officer Tilghese, Onalaska Police. I'm stopping you for a couple things. First, your speed. You've got 54 in the 405 here.
10:21And then, when you're turning there over by Walmart Woodman's, you, like, stopped in the middle of the road there.
10:27And you've been kind of swerving all over your lane. Is there any reason for any of that?
10:33You got anything to drink tonight?
10:34No, I still don't want to drink that. I just don't want to drink that. I just want to drink that. I don't need to drink these things.
10:40Okay. You guys, can I get both your guys' IDs?
10:42All right.
10:42You got a license?
10:45No.
10:46Okay.
10:46Any reason there's a liquor bottle on the floor?
10:49That's what we just bought.
10:50No, you just bought that, too?
10:52Brian never opened it.
10:54Okay.
10:55Yeah, it doesn't look open to me.
10:57I'm just hoping to drink it, though.
10:59Yeah?
11:00I ain't got a license.
11:01Okay.
11:02Well, I got to see what's going on first. Hang tight, okay?
11:08As the officer looked up their info, Deputy Trevor Carlson arrived as backup.
11:14What's up?
11:15I'm going to look them up here and see what we got.
11:18Officer Tilghiz soon discovered that the driver, 43-year-old James Leo Sibylla, was already out on bond for an OWI case and had previously been convicted of battery against his passenger.
11:30So they both have no contacts with each other.
11:34Well, I'm going to back up and pull him out and talk to him.
11:37Probably run him through tests just because his driving was just not right.
11:41But before the officer could even exit his vehicle, the driver made a move.
11:46Both officers took up pursuit.
11:53306, 1080, heading towards lacrosse on Highway 16, speeds about 70 miles per hour.
12:00We're up to 90, light traffic.
12:08Now, as they call it in, the driver makes a surprise move.
12:12306, he turned off his lights.
12:18Copy, turned off lights.
12:20Terminate.
12:23306, copy.
12:2316 in sunset, terminated.
12:31A little over a mile into the pursuit, the officers back off, citing the suspect's speed as a danger to the community.
12:39But later, other Onalaska officers in the area locate the suspect's car abandoned on this resident's front lawn.
12:46As they inspect the vehicle, they find an air pistol.
12:51Now, deputies from the La Crosse County Sheriff's Department and Wisconsin State Police have joined Onalaska PD to help track down the suspect.
13:01I guess we'll go for a hike.
13:03There's a bunch of pines and sheds.
13:06Okay.
13:06Back on that property.
13:08Officers fan out and begin searching the heavily wooded area behind the neighborhood.
13:13These are deer tracks.
13:16They didn't come up here.
13:18After about an hour of searching, an officer finally spots the driver.
13:23Stop!
13:24He's up here.
13:25He's moving up here somewhere.
13:32Just come out.
13:33We're not going away.
13:34You might just be coming out.
13:37Don't start to go up to these woods.
13:40He's got to be laying down.
13:41He's not breaking any sticks anymore.
13:43Finally, after officers worked their way through some heavy brush.
13:48Got him.
13:50Let me see your hands.
13:51Hands!
13:51Open your hands!
13:54They find the driver laying on the ground.
14:01You all right?
14:04My phone hurts.
14:05What hurts?
14:07My head.
14:08Got anything on you?
14:10Uh-uh.
14:11No phone.
14:11Nothing?
14:12Just your phone?
14:14Yeah!
14:15Oh!
14:16It hurts, buddy.
14:17Oh!
14:18My neck.
14:19Oh, f***!
14:21F***!
14:22Got it?
14:233.30, we've got the mail.
14:26The driver seems to have injured himself while fleeing on foot.
14:29And as they struggle to remove him from the heavy brush.
14:33Oh, I like this, huh?
14:34One step at a time.
14:37Other officers find the passenger who'd also been hiding in the woods.
14:42We got the female and the male now.
14:44Sibylla, the driver, received treatment at a local hospital and was transported to the La Crosse County Jail.
14:51He was charged with eluding an officer, two counts of bail jumping, obstructing an officer, and operating after revocation.
14:59He later pled guilty to one count of bail jumping and resisting obstructing and was sentenced to two years probation.
15:06The remaining charges were dismissed.
15:08Sibylla has since been released to extended supervision.
15:11The passenger was released and not charged.
15:14No officers were injured during the incident.
15:19Next, we're in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where police are in high-speed pursuit of two suspects fleeing in a reportedly stolen car.
15:27Earlier, officers Vashon Young and Juwan Madlock were on patrol when they reported a car with a broken taillight go through a stop sign and almost collide with another vehicle.
15:41When they attempted a traffic stop, the driver fled, and a high-speed chase ensued.
15:46After running the plates, dispatch informed the officers that the car had recently been reported stolen.
16:03We are now going south to the La Crosse County Jail Park.
16:07It's supposed to be at La Crosse County Jail Park.
16:09Speeds are approximately 40 miles per hour.
16:11After a brief detour through a local park, officers momentarily lose sight of the car, but soon pick up the chase back on local streets.
16:28He's now going west on Central Street.
16:30Turn to the car.
16:31Turn to the car.
16:32Turn to the car.
16:32Turn to the car.
16:32Turn to the car.
16:34Suddenly, the driver loses control and collides with an electrical pole.
16:38He and a male passenger immediately take off on foot.
16:46Officer Madlock pursues suspect number one, the driver, up the street.
16:53Stop, police!
16:54While Officer Young chases after suspect number two, the passenger, in between these houses.
17:01Stop, police!
17:04Stop, police!
17:06He's coming back to the yard.
17:07He's coming back to the yard.
17:08Young soon catches up to suspect number two in an overgrown backyard.
17:13Turn around!
17:14Turn around!
17:151750.
17:16They all want to come see you.
17:17Put your ass down.
17:19I have the real person behind you today, boss.
17:21Get up.
17:23The real person today.
17:26Meanwhile, Officer Madlock's foot pursuit of suspect number one continues.
17:30Stop!
17:31Stop!
17:32Stop moving!
17:33He seems to have gotten away.
17:35But the officer is able to provide a good description to dispatch.
17:40Black male looked like he went, uh, back east from, uh, 44th and Clark.
17:45Pissed to not be wearing a shirt anymore.
17:48Hey, you said he was black male and white t-shirt?
17:50No shirt anymore.
17:51He has an afro.
17:52No shirt.
17:53As Officer Madlock continues his search, Officer Young walks suspect number two back to his cruiser.
17:59Oh, you were fast.
18:00Yeah.
18:00I like that.
18:01I know.
18:02Anything got to move like that, did you?
18:03Oh.
18:04I know.
18:04These ladies heard about that.
18:06Oh, yeah, they move.
18:07I know they move.
18:08You got some feet on you.
18:09I like that.
18:10I know.
18:10You're pretty fast, too.
18:11What's your face?
18:12You're pretty fast.
18:12I play football.
18:14Huh?
18:14I play football.
18:15That's good.
18:15I'm fast.
18:1527, North, 44th.
18:17You solid.
18:18I know.
18:18I have the wrong one behind you.
18:20As Young takes suspect number two into custody, Madlock spots suspect number one on the front
18:28lawn of a nearby home.
18:29Right here.
18:32No shirt off.
18:33He just went from the top.
18:35He just went from the top.
18:36All right.
18:36All right.
18:36I was trying to take your beat her off, man.
18:38What beat her?
18:38I had a shirt off.
18:39I was with her.
18:40Yeah, you wasn't.
18:41I got to pull back.
18:41Stop moving.
18:42All right.
18:42Stop moving.
18:42When the suspect refuses to cooperate, Officer Madlock takes him to the ground.
18:47I told you you got the wrong place.
18:48You got the wrong place.
18:50You got the wrong place.
18:52Backup soon arrives and suspect number one is placed under arrest.
18:55Get your hands behind your back.
18:57No.
18:58Both of your hands.
19:00No, we don't.
19:02I saw you walk through the yard.
19:03Take the shirt off, dude.
19:04Let's take custody.
19:05Two, five, three, three.
19:07You're on one, four, four.
19:08They got more.
19:08Yeah.
19:09They just didn't make up something.
19:10They run like those people.
19:13Both suspects were taken to a hospital for physical evaluations before being released back
19:18into police custody.
19:20Suspect number one, a 17-year-old male who was already on probation for a previous fleeing
19:26eluding conviction, was charged as an adult with fleeing or eluding an officer and second-degree
19:32recklessly endangering safety.
19:34He pled guilty to fleeing eluding and the endangering charge was dismissed.
