00:00My baby is five days old and in just two weeks we have to get on a plane, travel to a different
00:05country to be at the birth of his baby brother. Jenna has a surrogate who's about to give birth
00:10to her newborn. Why do I have a surrogate if we just had a baby? My entire life I've suffered
00:14from infertility and miscarriage. I went on to have two healthy beautiful daughters and last
00:18year we started trying again and it was miscarriage, miscarriage, miscarriage. It's a hard thing to go
00:23through especially when you have other children. I don't know why but God just placed surrogacy
00:27on my heart and I just followed. But the path wouldn't be all rainbows and sunshine. We learned
00:32that surrogacy here in the U.S. took about 12 to 18 months to find a match. Let's just all agree the
00:37health care here is it's not the best. We had friends who had just had a baby via surrogacy in
00:42Colombia so we started exploring it. One thing led to another. We met our surrogate. We were in
00:48Colombia. I went through an egg retrieval. They retrieved six eggs, five fertilized, five became
00:53embryos and three were healthy. But all her plans started to shatter in front of her eyes. This all
00:57unraveled last November. So we were in Colombia in November, met our surrogate and we scheduled
01:03a transfer for December. I will never forget learning that the transfer failed. I was so
01:07thrown off. I didn't understand. God led me here. What the heck happened? I just said,
01:11you know what? I'm gonna go for it one last time and I'm gonna try to get pregnant. So
01:14mid-January I found out I was pregnant but here's the cooker. We had the second transfer
01:19already scheduled to take place the end of January to the surrogate. They had a life-changing decision
01:24to me. Honestly, it wasn't that hard of a decision. I just thought, you know what? We're gonna go for
01:29it. Who knows if I'll stay pregnant? Who knows if her transfer will work? Like I just never thought
01:33it would all work out. But it did. And our entire pregnancy, we were about, our due dates changed,
01:40but we were about three to four weeks apart. Well, then my baby decided he was gonna come out a week
01:45and a half late. So we've got pretty much two weeks to get to Colombia. But yet again, they run into
01:49another problem. It was a miracle that we were able to get his birth certificate in just two days
01:54and we have a passport appointment for him on Wednesday. Lord willing, we will be heading to
01:58Colombia on October 17th. My mom is meeting us there because she's going to take care of baby
02:03Joseph while the other baby is born. Are we going to raise them as twins? I don't know. I guess if
02:09we're in a rush and someone says, are they twins? I might say, yeah. But if we're not, and I want to sit
02:13there and share the goodness and the testimony of what God's done in our life, that would always be my
02:17preference. They will always know the story. It's just a constant reminder of how God has blessed
02:21us. The way he's working this all out is crazy, insane. He's definitely, definitely showing off.
02:26The surrogate's birthing experience wasn't easy either. Hello from Colombia. Our son is here. He's
02:32happy. He's healthy. And he's just three weeks younger than his big brother. Later ultrasounds in
02:38the surrogate's pregnancy were showing that he had potential heart issues. So right when he was born,
02:43he didn't have skin to skin. He didn't get to latch, but he had to go to the NICU for observation for 12
02:49hours. But what do you know? Praise God, a miracle. There is no sign. There is no reason for them to
02:55think he has any sort of heart issue. He was released. We did skin to skin immediately and he latched.
