00:00We might get some over money tonight.
00:02Let's take a look at some spread lines here in the NFL.
00:04Seven o'clock start on a doubleheader tonight in the NFL.
00:07The first game is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Detroit Lions.
00:10We might be getting Mike Evans.
00:11We might be getting Egbuka back here for the Tampa Bay Bucs, but we don't know.
00:16The one thing we do know, Baker Mayfield is in town.
00:18That's secondary for Detroit.
00:20Very suspect with injuries and also suspensions.
00:24Tampa Bay, Detroit.
00:25What is the spread line for you today, Joe?
00:28Well, it's interesting, right?
00:30Because we thought we'd start to see once we saw the announcement for the suspensions
00:36and who was playing and who's not playing for the secondary there with the Lions,
00:41which, by the way, pretty much nobody playing for the Lions.
00:45The same secondary that got lit up by Mahomes and company a week ago.
00:50That's what Baker Mayfield is up again.
00:52And don't forget, I think people forget, the Buccaneers beat the Lions at Ford Field last year,
00:5620-16 as a 7.5-point underdog.
01:01And I think Baker Mayfield and company, who, by the way, are getting reinforcements back,
01:05looks like Mike Evans is good to go in this game.
01:08There's entirely too much Detroit love in the marketplace for me,
01:12given the condition of that secondary and what Baker Mayfield is doing right now.
01:17It'll be interesting to see if there's any buyback before kickoff here.
01:21But right now, it's all about the Lions' money in the market.
01:24Yeah, it feels like, Joe, once we get closer to game time,
01:27an hour and a half when the inactives come out,
01:29if you do see a couple wide receivers pop up active for Tampa,
01:32that might get that buyback.
01:33It might go the opposite direction if you get some stunning moves like,
01:36oh, Mike Evans didn't have a good pregame workout at this point.
01:38So keep an eye on that.
01:39Houston and Seattle, game number two of the doubleheader.
01:41A 10 o'clock start tonight, Joe.
01:43Three-point favorite for Seattle in a total.
01:45Let's hit it, 41.5.
01:46Houston and Seattle, the spread line for tonight, Joe, is what?
01:49Two and a half as it opened at.
01:52It's sitting at three now, Donnie,
01:54and I don't know that you're going to get any more than this right now.
01:59So I think the total is the best approach here,
02:02and so did the market.
02:03This opened up at 42 and a half.
02:05We're down to 41s now.
02:07So the total seems to be the place a lot of people are going for this later game here
02:12with Seattle, who, by the way, the 12th man be damned, Donnie.
02:16They can't win in Seattle here.
02:17It's absolutely bonkers what's going on.
02:20Yeah, by the way, Houston brings a good defense here.
02:22Maybe they bust that out of their offensive funko in the season
02:25and also understand this.
02:26Jackson Smith and Jigba, it doesn't matter what defense he's going up,
02:29he's been an ultimate performer this season.
02:31But a doubleheader tonight in Monday Night Football,
02:33game seven in an ALCS,
02:36and a lot more information to get out to the people right here on the early line.
02:39It's what we do on a Monday, people.
02:41It's the Sports Grid Network.
02:42Good morning.
02:43Let's get after it next.
02:45Let's play two.
02:46We're going to do that tonight in the NFL.
02:48One game starting at 7 p.m. Eastern, the other one at 10 p.m. Eastern.
02:51It's Tampa Bay, Detroit, and it's Houston and Seattle.
02:54And if you look on paper, we should be getting some pretty functional games,
02:57which means a lot of scoring possibly in one game
03:00and some good defense in another one.
03:02Let's get started in game number one, Joe.
03:04475, 476 on the rotation.
03:06That's remote town.
03:07The Buccaneers travel up to take on the Detroit Lions here.
03:10Great matchup.
03:11Two good football teams.
03:12And we're seeing anywhere between, you see the placard coming up at minus six to five and a half
03:17on where you're shopping at in a total of 53 and a half to 52 and a half.
03:21Baker Mayfield, he wakes wonders in the backfield.
03:25It doesn't matter who his wide receivers are.
03:27But to me, it does matter tonight.
03:29Detroit's a really good football team and especially good at home on offense.
03:32You need to meet fire with fire.
03:35And if Baker Mayfield can come in with a little bit more extra sauce at wide receiver,
03:38that's going to help, Joe.
03:40Let's start with that line.
03:41Call it minus six.
03:42What gives tonight?
03:44Yeah, it's interesting because it's been a steady.
03:47It feels like there was some Tampa money earlier in the week
03:51because this line dropped below, you know, six here.
03:54It was about five, five and a half.
03:57Even so, I think earlier in the week, four and a half
03:59because you just didn't know who was going to be available for Detroit.
04:03Then, of course, the suspension and everything else.
04:07Listen, you want to back the Lions here.
04:10But again, what we saw with that secondary last week
04:13and how Kansas City without Rice kind of obliterated them
04:18and took advantage of the backups there.
04:21I mean, look at the season that Mayfield is having
04:24and he's getting some weapons back.
04:26You know, it should give you a little bit of pause here
04:29because don't forget, I mentioned earlier, Donnie,
04:32they won at Ford Field there last year at Tampa.
04:36It's not like they haven't played this team tough.
04:39And I can make the argument when Ben Johnson was the OC there a year ago,
04:43that was a better offense and they still beat them.
04:45So this is a tough spot here for Detroit.
04:49They are, I think they're going to come out firing,
04:52but doesn't this feel like a much better game to look at the total?
04:55Because I'm not sure how either defense is stopping the offenses here.
05:01Exactly.
05:01Look, it's a game that you take a place that, excuse me, took place yesterday.
05:05It's Dallas and Washington.
05:06You say to yourself like, oh, well, wow.
05:08How's that game going to go now over 55 points
05:10when there's no wide receivers playing for Washington?
05:12Sometimes it just doesn't matter who's that wide receiver.
05:14It just matters on the defense.
05:15They blew that total out of the water.
05:17And you might get that tonight
05:18because Detroit doesn't care who's on your defense.
05:20They're going to score and you're in a dome with a fast track.
05:23And the same thing with Baker Mayfield.
05:24We've watched him play with basically three tight end sets and no wideouts
05:27and still be able to move the football with ease.
05:29Jared Goff's passing prop tonight, Joe, 264 and a half.
05:32Baker Mayfield's 242 and a half.
05:34And a little bit different juice on the touchdowns.
05:36But you see the quarterbacks.
05:38Usually it's one and a half touchdown passes, minus 120, minus 130.
05:41That's not the case in this game.
05:43Jared Goff is a minus 220 price at some outlets to throw two touchdowns.
05:47Baker Mayfield, even without wide receivers that we're unsure of
05:50until we see the final inactive report.
05:52He's at minus 154 to throw two.
05:55Expectations, a lot of touchdown passes, and a lot of points.
05:59Well, it's interesting because styles make fights here.
06:02And right now, this year, Jared Goff in Detroit, one of the best teams.
06:08He is throwing for more yardage against the Blitz than he has in his entire career, Donnie.
06:12And we know what Todd Bowles loves to do, doesn't he?
06:15He wants that pass rush to come after him.
06:17Well, careful what you wish for, because Goff has been lighting teams up this year
06:22that are sending everybody to go get him.
06:24So I think it's going to be an interesting chess match.
06:27But you also have to look at the fact that I think 11-0 against the number
06:32is what Detroit is with Dan Campbell following a loss.
06:36So they tend to bounce back in a big way.
06:41I just think this thing is going to become a crazy shootout here by the fourth quarter.
06:47Touchdown props in this game, Joe.
06:48Jameer Gibbs, almost a minus 200 at most outlets right now.
06:52David Montgomery, Amin Ross St. Brown, also juiced here if you want a touchdown there.
06:57Rashard White, Mike Evans appear on that board at a plus 100 for Rashard White
07:00and a plus 115 for Mike Evans.
07:02If we're looking at a lot of points and a lot of touchdown passes,
07:04those wide receivers might get center attention.
07:06But you've got to be kidding me, right?
07:08Jameer Gibbs and David Montgomery, it also feels like, you know,
07:11the Notre Dame backfield at this point with Price and Love.
07:14Each one of them always get a touchdown.
07:16It feels like that's why they're getting priced so high right now.
07:19Again, high total like that, Donnie.
07:21I think everybody that was listed there, yes.
07:25Just yes.
07:26Touchdown, yes.
07:26Anytime touchdown, yes.
07:28They are all in play to get into the end zone here tonight.
07:32That would not shock me at all.
07:34All of them end up getting it done.
07:36But again, like you said, keep an eye on exactly who is playing the wide receiver position.
07:42Not that it has mattered much for Baker Mayfield, but boy, oh boy,
07:45would it be big to get his two best guys back in that lineup.
07:49Absolutely.
07:50Let's head out to the Pacific Northwest, who, by the way,
07:52if you are a Seattle fan tonight, the fact that you're going to be watching
07:56your Mariners and also your Seahawks at the same time could be a tough scene right now.
08:01But if we take a look at the line itself, by the way, also,
08:03this is a 10 o'clock start at this point.
08:05So out on the West Coast, 7 o'clock, they'll be watching that game
08:07and maybe partying or being upset by the time that game does start.
08:11But it's a three-point favorite for Seattle, the Seahawks,
08:14and a total of 41 and a half.
08:16Liked what I saw out of Houston on their previous two wins.
08:18Took a little bit of time off coming back after the bye.
08:20We know the defense is really good.
08:22The question is going to be, are they healthy enough on offense
08:24to move the football tonight?
08:26Sam Darno versus C.J. Stroud.
08:27Minus three, Joe.
08:28What do you think of tonight?
08:29Yeah, I'm thinking C.J. Stroud is going to be under a lot of duress here
08:35because the Houston offensive issues have just been masked, Donnie,
08:40over the last month.
08:42They have not been fixed.
08:45That offensive line is a mess.
08:46It's one thing when you look good and competent, I don't know,
08:50in the fourth quarter against Tennessee,
08:52and then you played the JV squad of the Baltimore Ravens,
08:56and everyone's like, oh, it looks like they hit finger to that.
08:58Yeah, no.
08:59The Seattle defense is a different animal here,
09:02and they will be coming to C.J. Stroud at company here.
09:06I don't think we get a ton of points in here.
09:08I think this is a rock fight of a game,
09:10but I would only be looking towards Seattle in this spot.
09:13I just think that offensive line of Houston,
09:15it's going to come back to haunt them again in this spot.
09:18225-and-a-half, Sam Darnold, his passing prop here,
09:22C.J. Stroud, 227-and-a-half,
09:24and the touchdown props here are much different, Joe,
09:27for throwing them than we just previewed in Detroit and Tampa Bay
09:30to throw two touchdowns for Sam Darnold, plus 134,
09:33to throw two touchdowns for C.J. Stroud, plus 138,
09:36plus money across the board.
09:38But as you stated, maybe the touchdown's going to be a little bit tougher
09:41to come by than that game number one tonight.
09:42I think it is, and a lot of that has to do with the Houston secondary.
09:47No problems with this Houston defense, Donnie.
09:50I mean, Stingley is going to be all over JSN here.
09:56So are they going to – is he going to have the same kind of success?
09:59I doubt that very much.
10:01To me, this is going to be about who can run the football in the trenches.
10:06That is how Seattle's going to win this game.
10:09Take a look at the touchdown scoring market for these guys again.
10:12We just talked about Detroit, heavily favored there,
10:14heavily juiced for the three top players.
10:16That's not the case tonight when you take a look at Seattle
10:18and also for Houston.
10:19The top players on the board, plus 135, Jackson Smith and Jigba,
10:23Zach Charbonnet, plus 140, and then the first Houston Texan
10:26to show up on the board, Joe.
10:27Sneeko Collins at a plus 150 price, and a lot of guys down the list
10:31with some really good plus money.
10:33How are we playing the touchdown market tonight
10:35between the Texans and the Seahawks?
10:37A lot of RBs here, Donnie.
10:40That's what I think.
10:41It's going to be a lot of ground and pound,
10:43especially inside the red zone here.
10:45Both of these defenses are going to be coming after these quarterbacks here,
10:49and I think the team that can run the ball
10:51is the team that's going to win this game.
10:53I would focus only on RBs in the touchdown market in this spot.
10:58By the way, if we are looking at the running backs here, Joe,
11:00not like you had last night, like B. John Robinson,
11:03a high number going up against Christian McCaffrey, a high number.
11:05Kenneth Walker is the leader in the clubhouse right now
11:07and the odds market 49 and a half yards.
11:10Zach Charbonnet, 36 and a half.
11:12You get it over to the Houston Texans, Chubb, 35 and a half,
11:15and Woody Marks, only 29 and a half.
11:17Which running back yardage-wise on the ground, Joe,
11:20would you trust tonight, over or under?
11:22It's kind of crazy, right?
11:24You know, I almost want to say maybe Stroud outrushes them all here, Donnie,
11:29because he's running for his life.
11:31And he might be the best guy to look at from a rushing prop perspective as well.
11:36I don't know what his number is, but something tells me
11:39he's going to be running here tonight a lot.
11:41Yeah, by the way, if you look at the running props here for the quarterback,
11:45Sam Darnold, five and a half, CJ Stroud, 17 and a half.
11:48We'll see how that one certainly turns out.
11:50Nick Chubb, Woody Marks in the backfield.
11:52That just ain't going to get it done.
11:53Still waiting on mixes.
11:54Is that guy ever coming back to the lineup for the Houston Texans?
11:57We don't know.
11:57But you know what we know next?
11:58Tom Vecchio is going to join us here.
12:00We're going to get the prop perspective on tonight's action.
12:03Wacky Sunday yesterday in the NFL.
12:06For more clarity, we got a doubleheader on Monday Night Football tonight.
12:09Tampa Bay, Detroit, followed by Houston and Seattle,
12:127 o'clock and 10 o'clock sandwiched in between.
12:15A game number seven in the ALCS.
12:17I'm Donnie Wrightside.
12:17He's Joe Ranieri.
12:18Welcome in Tom Vecchio for some opinions here.
12:22Maybe on some props and some sides, Tom.
12:24Crazy day yesterday, but it continues once again today on a Monday.
12:27It certainly does.
12:29Craziness across the NFL.
12:31You know, we did see a lot of favorites win yesterday,
12:33and then we had craziness in the MLB with the ALCS.
12:37Brady and I were live last night for that game.
12:39Got through some props with Vladdy with two-plus total bases.
12:42Should be an awesome game tonight.
12:44Kirby versus Bieber.
12:45I'm leaning Mariners.
12:47I think they have a better shot of taking down the Dodgers when it's all said and done.
12:51I think the pitching staff that they have can go toe-to-toe with the Dodgers.
12:54By the way, also, Tom, we talked about it to open the show.
12:57Like, you got a doubleheader tonight in the NFL.
12:59You got Major League Baseball.
13:01You got hockey in tomorrow.
13:02You got the NBA season starting as well.
13:04But before we get to the NBA season, you got a pretty good matchup here.
13:08Game number one, 7 o'clock start.
13:10Tampa Bay and Detroit.
13:11Baker Mayfield, we know he's going to be there.
13:13We don't know who his wide receivers are just yet.
13:15We do know Detroit's going to be there.
13:17We just don't know who the heck in that secondary is going to defend whatever wide receivers show up in Tampa Bay.
13:23If we're looking for angles to play tonight, Tom, Tampa Bay and Detroit is about a six-point favorite for the Lions.
13:28How are we doing that tonight?
13:30I'm certainly expecting points, and I think a lot of people would be looking at things the same way,
13:34where probably some points in the first game, not so many points in the second game.
13:38I think it's pretty straightforward for that.
13:39When it comes to the Bucs, there are reports that both Mike Evans and Emeka Abuka are expected to play.
13:44It's more certain that Evans will be playing.
13:46Obviously, none of this is guaranteed.
13:48The secondary for the Lions is absolutely decimated at this point.
13:52They just don't have competent players.
13:54So I think the Lions game plan should be, hey, we need to go out and score 28 points, 30 points.
14:00We know the defense can't really stop anyone.
14:02We know that they like to run up a score at home.
14:04But if Baker and at least a somewhat competent team, and I don't know if it's somewhat competent is the right answer,
14:09but he seemingly gets it done with everyone.
14:10They have to come back and score on the other side, and I think the Bucs will.
14:13It feels like much like that Dallas-Washington game, Tom, where points are coming.
14:21Although last year they played to a crazy under that Tampa was able to walk away with the win here.
14:28So does it favor Tampa to try to get into a shootout here?
14:32Are they going to have a choice?
14:33What do we think this game plays out like?
14:35I don't think it favors Tampa to turn into a shootout just because the Lions are fully healthy on offense.
14:41They are at home, and we've seen what they do at home when, you know, sometimes they're six, seven-point favorites.
14:47They win the game by 14 or 21.
14:48They can just steamroll teams at home because that's what they like to do.
14:52So when we're looking at how this game plays out, I think we're going to see passing early, at least from the Lions' perspective.
14:58And then we're going to see running late, and specifically running late, I think it's going to be David Montgomery for the Lions.
15:03And we saw, or I shouldn't say we saw, we heard some quotes from Dan Campbell earlier this week
15:09saying that he wants to restore balance to the backfield for the Lions.
15:12And, you know, Coach B is a thing.
15:14It's like, yeah, we kind of got to sort through it.
15:15We got to take it with a grain of salt.
15:16But I tend to believe Dan Campbell, like when he says something, he's like, they're going to do it.
15:20They're going to go forward on fourth down.
15:21They're going to run up the score.
15:22That's what they end up doing.
15:23So I like David Montgomery over 43-and-a-half rushing yards.
15:26You know, I did consider his rushing attempts just because they want to get him Montgomery.
15:29This is more involved overall.
15:31But I just think the role that Montgomery has can put him over this prop in just a few carries
15:36because we've seen him break off those big runs this year.
15:39Yeah, fun game tonight, setting up in game number one.
15:41Total across the board between the shopping at 52-and-a-half to 53-and-a-half.
15:45We're expecting points and no worries.
15:46But any weather conditions, that's a fast track in Detroit.
15:49Why?
15:49Yeah, it's turf and it's in a dome.
15:51Game number two, outside, Tom, but not bad weather conditions.
15:5460 degrees, no precipitation.
15:56Light winds here for Houston and Seattle.
15:57The question is, which one of these teams is going to move the football?
16:00We do know each team has an elite wide receiver.
16:02But outside of that, sometimes it's flipping some coins here.
16:05Which angle would you be playing tonight in a game, Tom, that's listed around a 41-and-a-half
16:09as a total?
16:10Yeah, I also want to know which version of Seattle is going to show up because they win
16:14every game on the road.
16:15But you're supposed to have one of the better home field advantages and you're seemingly
16:19bad at home, which certainly surprises me.
16:22I will say for JSN, Jackson Smith, and Jigba for the Seahawks, he has been unbelievable
16:27this year.
16:27And I'm not sure if that accurately describes it.
16:29But he will be going up against Derek Stingley Jr.
16:31So I think that presents an opportunity for some of those secondary and tertiary options
16:35on Seattle.
16:36I don't have a favorite one as of now.
16:38Actually, I have a favorite secondary option on the Houston side of things.
16:41And that's going to Dalton Schultz, their tight end, over 38-and-a-half receiving yards.
16:46We know how good Nico Collins is.
16:47But ultimately, Nico Collins is a player that I like to see get down the field, or that's
16:52how they like to utilize him.
16:53The offensive line, as we've talked about for the Texans, is terrible.
16:56It's absolutely horrible.
16:58And a little bit of pass rush against C.J. Stroud.
17:01You've got to get the ball out quickly.
17:02Let's get to a lower ADOP player like Dalton Schultz, pick up some yards.
17:06We see the Seahawks right now, you know, going into, you know, this past week, or I should
17:10say this week, they were bottom 10 in the league for most receiving yards allowed to
17:14tight ends.
17:14Obviously, that has adjusted because they have yet to play a game.
17:16But they're still allowing over 57 yards per game to opposing tight ends.
17:20I do think this presents a good spot for Schultz to be somewhat of a safety blanket for
17:24C.J. Stroud.
17:25Get the ball out quickly, get some first downs, and move down the field.
17:28So, this one, it feels like is an absolute rock fight.
17:33And the one who can run the ball has probably got the leg up here.
17:37By the way, Seattle does have three starters on the defensive side back, including Witherspoon,
17:42and they're starting safety love.
17:44So, that should be interesting here.
17:46But I'm with you.
17:47To me, we were just talking about it earlier.
17:51From a rushing perspective, it feels like C.J.
17:53Stroud's going to be on the run a lot today.
17:56He might be running for his life a lot.
17:58So, you know, looking at him for his rushing props, 17 and a half yards, may not be a bad
18:03look here.
18:04I certainly don't mind that.
18:06And, you know, part of me, I was thinking about C.J.
18:08Stroud under on attempts, where you just don't want to have the ball in his hands at a high
18:13volume.
18:13And when you have Chubb, who's been okay, you have Woody Marks, who I'm high on.
18:18And, you know, he's had some good games.
18:19He had some low games.
18:20Like, they want to get him more involved.
18:22Ultimately, if you just keep the ball at Stroud's hands, and I'm not saying that in a bad way.
18:26It's just like, hey, we can kind of move the ball down the field, run it a little bit,
18:30pass a little bit.
18:30We don't have to put him under too much pressure.
18:32The wide receivers haven't stepped up.
18:33The rookies haven't been there.
18:35It's kind of Nico Collins or Bust.
18:36It's like, hey, why don't we take the under on his attempts?
18:38Because they'll just try to manufacture the ball down the field instead of relying on
18:42him to be the guy to save them.
18:50We got hockey.
18:51We got baseball.
18:52We got football.
18:53There's so many different ways that you can go tonight.
18:55Joe Ranieri, on your card tonight, where is your best bet going?
19:00Well, we're going to go a little Monday night football in the latter game here with the Texans
19:06traveling to take on the Seattle Seahawks.
19:09And we're going to look at that under, Donnie, 41 and a half in this game.
19:14And listen, I mean, the Texans had back-to-back blowout wins prior to their bye last week.
19:21But both, and we talked about it, Tennessee and the JV squad of the Baltimore Ravens doesn't
19:27mean you fixed your issues on offense.
19:30Doesn't mean that your offensive line is all of a sudden the best in the league.
19:34No, it's awful.
19:36And the Seahawks, on defense, are going to take full advantage and show that.
19:41And on the flip side, listen, that Texans defense is real.
19:45They're a top-five defense.
19:47I don't know that Sam Darnold's going to be throwing the ball all over the yard.
19:50I think this game is going to be one or lost in the trenches.
19:53But altogether, Donnie, this has got 2013 written all over it.
19:59I don't see us getting 40 or more points in this game.
20:02I think the defense has shined in this one.
20:05I'm looking at the under tonight.
20:07Under tonight, late night, 10 o'clock start out there on the West Coast.
20:10For me, Joe, I'm actually going to come back east a little bit to the Rust Belt there,
20:14to Motown and Detroit.
20:16Understand this.
20:17I understand how good the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been, and particularly how good their
20:21quarterback is.
20:22They are going to get some help back at the wide receiver position, which should help.
20:25But when I look at that offense for Detroit, particularly at home, nobody is stopping them.
20:29So if I keep it simple tonight, which I like to do on these picks, which has served me
20:33so well, I say to myself, do I think Detroit wins this game?
20:36Yes.
20:37What is that line?
20:38Minus five and a half.
20:39Give me the Detroit Lions to get the victory tonight over Tampa Bay by a touchdown in this
20:44game.
20:45Do I think we get points?
20:46Yes.
20:46Do I think Baker pays well?
20:47Yes.
20:48But also, that Detroit offense will be humming once again.
20:51Great offensive line.
20:52Great tailbacks.
20:53Great wide receiver.
20:54Great tight end.
20:55They'll put the pressure on Tampa Bay and force Tampa Bay to play that backup role in the
21:00second half of trying to come back and win.
21:02Not going to be enough.
21:03Detroit by a touchdown tonight, Joe.
21:05That's where I'm going.
21:06How about it?
21:07That will be a much more entertaining game, I think, than my game, Donnie.
21:13I think my game will be a rock fight while your game should see a whole lot of points
21:18being scored.
21:18Should be a lot of fun to watch it go down.
21:21That's the way it is.
21:22And by the way, tomorrow, we will always be back on the early line.
21:25The NBA season is starting anew.
21:27Doubleheader in football.
21:28Game seven of Major League Baseball.
21:30Hockey on the board tonight.
21:32No better place to be than tuned into the Sports Grid Network.
21:35It's just how we do business.
21:36For Donnie Wrightside and Joe Ranieri, we'll see you tomorrow morning bright and early
21:40for another edition of the Early Line.
