Former lawmaker Cheng Li-wun has won the race to become the next leader of the main opposition Kuomintang. Her election has drawn reaction from lawmakers across party lines and even congratulations from Chinese President Xi Jinping. TaiwanPlus speaks with Wang Hung-jen, director of the Institute for National Policy Research, about what kind of vision Cheng has for the KMT and how this could impact the party's relations with Beijing.
