00:00A Gabungan Rakyat Sabah leader has criticized Warisan President Shafi'i Abdaal for claiming
00:06to defend Sabah's rights over oil, gas, and maritime borders.
00:11GRS Deputy Secretary General Armizan Muhammad Ali accused the former chief minister of hypocrisy,
00:17saying Shafi'i failed to act when Sabah's sovereignty was reduced in 2012.
00:22In a video posted on social media, he said Shafi'i's image as the savior of Sabah was
00:27inconsistent with his role as a federal minister when the Territorial Sea Act 2012 was passed.
00:33The law, enacted under Najib Razak's administration, limited Sabah's territorial waters to three
00:39nautical miles, weakening its oil and gas sovereignty.
00:43Armizan said Shafi'i, a powerful leader at the time, did nothing to defend Sabah's rights
00:48and even boasted about his close ties to Najib in a speech in Tawau.
00:52He called it hypocritical for Shafi'i to now complain in parliament that Sabah's boundaries
00:57were changed without state consent.
01:00Armizan contrasted this with the Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage Act 2025, saying the
01:06current federal government respects Sabah and Sarawak's special status under the constitution
01:10and the Malaysia Agreement in 1963.
