00:00Venezuela, all over the world, and of course in the country, continue to celebrate the canonization of the first two saints of that South American country, Jose Gregorio Hernandez and Mother Carmen Rendiles.
00:12Let's go with our special envoy in the Vatican City for more details on this milestone for the Venezuelan nation.
00:18Well, most definitely we are living a historic day here at the Vatican, not only because we have two new saints from Venezuela, first time, but also because of what has been the homily of the Pope Leon XIV, that has a lot to do, that has been displayed in his new first book about the encyclical,
00:44that the values of Jose Gregorio, in a way, are exactly or very similar to the values that the new Pope is preaching, and has a lot to do with the values of the previous Argentinian Pope, we're talking about Francis.
01:03So the commitment to the poor, the commitment to the most vulnerable, the solidarity, the fact to be involved in your responsibilities as a citizen, has been not only because Jose Gregorio has been named the doctor of the poor and the most vulnerable,
01:24if not because it has been what the new Pope, we're talking about Leon XIV, has been doing hands-on in Peru, for example, where he has been going there, and he has adopted the Peruvian nationality.
01:41So there is a clear message that if you put together the life of Jose Gregorio, the life of Pope Francis Jorge Bergoglio, and now the new encyclical of Pope XIV, the Leon XIV,
02:00there is a line of thought that has been, in a way, been repeated today in this ceremony.
02:07So, most definitely, we have witnessed a message and a sense of responsibility in terms of the citizenship that will going to go way farther than the celebration itself.
02:22We get back to you now.
02:26Thank you, Jorge Stoso, our special envoy in Vatican on this transcendental date for the Venezuelan people and from the Catholic community of Venezuela in specific.
02:34We're going to have more updates on this very important date, the colonization of the first two Venezuelan saints, Jose Gregorio Hernandez and Mother Carmen Rendiles, in upcoming news briefs.
02:43Stay tuned.
