05:35I do think the march under the leadership of men who are in the Communist Party
05:39and have been is not good for the country.
05:43Citizens being used by communists to disrupt and destroy internal peace.
05:48That's the comparison that he's making.
05:51Well, look, I mean, if Democrats want to embrace having the Communist Party
05:55here in New York City sponsor this rally, you know, be my guest.
06:00Respectfully, and I hear what you're saying,
06:02but where is the energy in the Democratic Party?
06:04You see energy around protecting illegal populations.
06:07You see it every day.
06:09Energy around criminals, violent criminals.
06:13I mean, Democratic officials all over this country have worked very hard
06:16to let violent criminals out on the streets.
06:19Where is the lie in what is being said by Caroline Levitt?
06:22This is where the energy is on the left.
06:24Violent, illegal aliens, violent criminals, that's the energy.
06:27That's what you see.
06:28The energy is behind protecting people's rights.
06:31It's behind not having citizens...
06:34Who's?
06:35Citizens!
06:35Americans!
06:36What about illegal aliens being rounded up by us?
06:38Many Democrats have said we got the immigration issue wrong
06:42and we need to fix it.
06:43Perhaps maybe in Congress, but we know that won't happen
06:45because they aren't even working right now.
06:47But people are protesting Americans being zip-tied, being detained
06:53without having their rights protected.
06:56I'm not saying...
06:57That is not who is...
06:59That is not the Democratic Party saying that
07:01let all illegal people or criminals run free.
07:05That is not what the Democratic Party is saying.
07:07Those are the policies?
07:07Those are your...
07:08No, they are not.
07:09I mean, you have prosecutors and judges all over this country
07:12that have let violent criminal after violent criminal out on the streets.
07:16And then what do they do?
07:17They commit other violent crimes in city after city after city.
07:21What does that have to do with people exercising their rights to protest?
07:24I don't have...
07:25I just...
07:25I really want to understand.
07:27I mean, there are going to be millions of people probably
07:30out on the streets all over the country.
07:32And many of those people are, you know, your neighbors,
07:35perhaps some of your friends.
07:37They're regular Americans that have constitutional rights,
07:41that have voting rights like everybody else.
07:43Why is it that there is this idea that guilt by association should be applied to them
07:48when they just want to go out and protest against a political administration
07:53that they disagree with?
07:54I have no problem with people protesting peacefully.
07:57They have every right to do that.
07:59I do think it's legitimate.
08:00Well, then why demonize them?
08:00Because I think it's a legitimate political debate about what they're protesting for.
08:04I mean, look, listen, if every time...
08:08I mean, and this does happen on the right, on the left to some extent.
08:12Conservatives get mad when Democrats say,
08:15oh, you guys are palling around with white supremacists and racists and so on and so forth.
08:20Charlottesville, a great example.
08:22Or the group chat.
08:23Yeah, the group chat.
08:25This week?
08:25January 6th.
08:26All of that.
08:27Everybody painted with the same brush.
08:29And you all were opposed and upset about that.
08:32Why are you applying, then, that same thing in this situation?
08:36Again, if they want to protest peacefully, that's perfectly fine.
08:40It is perfectly legitimate political debate for Republicans to say,
08:44what exactly are they protesting?
08:46They are mad that Donald Trump is enforcing federal immigration law.
08:49They are mad that he is lawfully exercising the powers of the presidency.
08:54And they are fighting for policies that Republicans fundamentally believe are bad for the country.
08:57I do think they disagree with all of the things that he just said.
09:00It's a legit debate.
09:01They disagree.
09:02You characterize those things as lawful.
09:03And they disagree.
09:04And they're expressing their disagreement.
09:05But I want to play this from Amy Coney Barrett, the Supreme Court Justice.
09:08She's spoken with a New York Times columnist about some of these concerns about President Trump's use of his presidential power.
09:17Her answer on the Supreme Court's role in all of this you might find surprising.
09:23Where it's very easy to imagine from either the left or the right, some present or future president deciding to test the court, Andrew Jackson style, saying, interesting ruling, Justice Barrett, good luck enforcing it.
09:41If a president defied the Supreme Court, what would you do?
09:44Well, as you say, the court lacks the power of the purse.
09:51We lack the power of the sword.
09:52And so we interpret the Constitution.
09:56We draw in precedence.
09:57We have these questions of structure.
09:59And, you know, we make the most with the tools that we have.
10:03You know, I watched that today when we sent it around.
10:06And I had not seen it previously.
10:07And it's funny that we picked this piece because it was the part that stuck out to me the most.
10:10And it kind of shook me.
10:11She was like, we ain't in charge of the money.
10:13We ain't in charge of having a sword.
10:15She used the word sword.
10:16And then she was like, I don't know what they could be doing because we just do the Constitution.
