00:39Well, it's lovely to be here with you again, and it's lovely to have the sun in my eyes.
00:45Praise the Lord.
00:48It's a joy to be here in the presence of God,
00:51and it's always a privilege to come and be here with you and fellowship with you.
00:55I think of the many years that I've been coming to see some of the original faces.
01:04But we're all getting older, aren't we?
01:07Closer to glory.
01:09Amen.
01:11Well, we've come to worship God,
01:14and I just reminded myself that we're in a world of violence and turmoil and war,
01:20and yet we come here, and this is a place of peace.
01:25This should be a place of joy tonight, shouldn't it?
01:28As we lift our hearts to God, the God, the Jesus that we adore.
01:33I'd like to read a scripture to you.
01:37It's Matthew 25, and the first 13 verses there.
01:42And you'll note that this comes after the section where Jesus was giving the signs of his return.
01:51So this follows on.
01:52And then the kingdom of heaven will be like the ten virgins,
01:57who took their lamps and went to meet the bridegroom.
02:02Five of them were foolish, and five were wise.
02:07For when the foolish took their lamps, they took no oil with them.
02:11But the wise took flasks of oil with their lamps.
02:14As the bridegroom was delayed, they all became drowsy and slept.
02:20But at midnight there was a cry.
02:23Here is the bridegroom.
02:25Come out to meet him.
02:27Then all those virgins rose and trimmed their lamps.
02:30And the foolish said to the wise,
02:32Give us some of your oil,
02:35for our lamps are going out.
02:37But the wise answered, saying,
02:39Since there is not enough for us and for you,
02:42go rather to the dealers and buy for yourselves.
02:46And while they were going to buy, the bridegroom came.
02:50And those who were ready went in with him to the marriage feast.
02:56And the doors were shut.
02:59Afterward the other virgins came also, saying,
03:01Lord, Lord, open to us.
03:04But he answered,
03:05Truly I say to you,
03:06I do not know you.
03:09Watch therefore,
03:09For you know neither the day nor the hour.
03:14I wanted to speak this evening to us,
03:18but also to our wider congregation online.
03:24And I suppose the theme of my thinking is,
03:29Are you ready?
03:31Are you ready?
03:32And what does that mean?
03:37In my mind, that means holiness.
03:40Because that's what God called us for.
03:44Be holy because I am holy.
03:46And so that's really my theme this evening.
03:49And I trust that it will stir our own hearts
03:54to make sure that we're ready.
03:57Because I should,
03:58I should,
03:59I don't know how I should feel
04:01if I knocked on the door and the Lord said,
04:03I'm sorry, I don't know you.
04:06I've been to church all my life.
04:09As I'm sure you have.
04:10And there will be many in this world
04:13who attend church,
04:17think they're safe,
04:19and yet they'll be without any oil.
04:23And they won't be admitted.
04:26And so there's a,
04:27there's a caution for us,
04:28to stir our own hearts,
04:32to think how we are,
04:33where we're situated.
04:36But I'll speak on that later.
04:37Because Jesus made a change in my life.
04:43When I met him, I was,
04:45I could always,
04:47I could remember,
04:48well you won't believe this,
04:49but I can remember being christened
04:51in the Church of England.
04:54I don't know how old I was,
04:55I was only a baby.
04:57But I could almost describe
04:59the face of the vicar
05:01that held me at the font.
05:04And I've always believed in God.
05:06I didn't know what that meant,
05:08of course,
05:09when I was a young teenager.
05:11But I gave my heart to the Lord
05:12when I was 15.
05:15And my life was changed.
05:18I wasn't a,
05:19a big sinner.
05:22But I was a sinner,
05:23and I knew it.
05:25I'd done things I know
05:26I shouldn't have done.
05:28And Jesus transformed my life
05:30from that time on.
05:31So I've had a,
05:33a real change of mind
05:39when I was very young.
05:42And I can only say
05:43what a wonderful change in my life
05:45was wrought in me
05:47on the 15th of October,
05:501955.
05:53It's a day I shall forget.
05:55Not an easy subject, really.
06:00To talk to men and women of God,
06:03and I know you hear
06:04your Bible students.
06:05I know that you love the Lord.
06:08But it was just laid on my heart.
06:11I read something,
06:12it must be a month or so ago,
06:14when I read that section,
06:17that there will be many there.
06:19And that 50% of them,
06:23can you imagine,
06:2450% of the churchgoers
06:26in this nation
06:27and all worldwide,
06:28potentially won't be ready.
06:31And that just stirred my heart.
06:36There will be many on that day.
06:39Regular church attendance
06:40is not good enough.
06:42Position in church,
06:44duties on the doors,
06:45perhaps welcoming.
06:46attending prayer meetings,
06:50Bible studies,
06:52even holding positions
06:53in the church,
06:54elders and deacons.
06:56It's not good enough.
06:58That's not what God is asking.
07:01He's asking for something different.
07:04There are many,
07:05and it's sad to say,
07:07there are many
07:07that are simply church attenders.
07:12Charles Coulson once said,
07:14Christianity is not just a hindsight,
07:16high-sounding ritual
07:17which we perform on Sundays.
07:20Christianity is living
07:22by biblical standards
07:23of personal holiness
07:24and in turn seeking
07:26to bring holiness
07:27into the society
07:29in which we live.
07:32Holiness is a way of life.
07:35Holiness should affect
07:36those around us,
07:38just our being there.
07:40Someone said,
07:41in the presence of
07:42A.W. Tozer
07:43that the only difference
07:44between a sinner
07:45and a Christian
07:47was that the Christian
07:48had accepted Jesus
07:49as Saviour.
07:51And Tozer immediately said,
07:53Saviour from what?
07:56That raises some questions.
07:59Is justification
08:00from past sin
08:01all that distinguishes
08:03Christians from sinners?
08:04Is salvation
08:06just a means
08:07of getting guilty sinners
08:09off
08:09free on the day
08:11of judgment?
08:14If that were the case
08:15that your Lord Jesus
08:18is merely a Saviour
08:20from past sins
08:21and freedom
08:23from judgment
08:23to come,
08:25we would be
08:26and we would remain
08:26sadly
08:27far from satisfied.
08:29the message
08:31of the Bible
08:32is real salvation
08:33and it's that
08:37of being born again
08:39believers
08:40are free
08:41from all sin
08:43past sin
08:45future sin
08:46present sin
08:48and we've been
08:50given a new life
08:51a life
08:53to be lived
08:54in accordance
08:54with his word
08:56and faith
08:58truth
09:00and honesty
09:01a life of holiness
09:04and power.
09:08That implies
09:09holiness
09:09is in discipleship
09:11and in disciplined living
09:14because the goal
09:16of holiness
09:17is to be like God.
09:20God himself said
09:21be holy
09:22for I am holy
09:25so our goal
09:26is to be like him.
09:28and to live
09:28and to live
09:28in holiness
09:29so I wonder
09:31what things
09:32in our lives
09:32cause us
09:33to be marred.
09:39Discipleship
09:40must be taken seriously.
09:44It's not something
09:45oh you can
09:46or can't do.
09:47Why?
09:48Because it implies
09:50deliverance
09:50from guilt
09:51from condemnation
09:53and penalty
09:54but it also
09:56implies
09:57power
09:58and holiness
10:00and a life
10:01in the spirit
10:02purity
10:04of heart
10:05this is what
10:07God wants.
10:09Holiness
10:10is the central
10:10theme of the Bible
10:11all the way through
10:13you can read of it
10:14it's not just
10:16something
10:16that
10:16maybe you
10:18go through
10:18a process
10:19of what
10:19they called
10:20sanctification
10:21that happens
10:25when we were
10:26set apart
10:27for God
10:28it's permanent
10:30God's character
10:32is holiness
10:33Paul reminds us
10:35that in Ephesians 1
10:37he says
10:37God chose us
10:38before the foundation
10:39of the world
10:40that we should
10:42be holy
10:43and without
10:44blame
10:45before him
10:46that's why
10:48he chose us
10:49not just
10:51to sit in churches
10:52and hold up
10:54our hands
10:54and wave
10:55we're called
10:58for more than that
10:59what of holiness
11:02then?
11:04Holiness
11:05is commanded
11:06it's not
11:07an optional
11:08extra
11:09it's not
11:10something
11:10we tack
11:11on to
11:12our
11:12Christian
11:12life
11:14and
11:14church
11:14going
11:15and
11:15daily
11:16living
11:16if we want
11:18to be ready
11:19for his return
11:20we must
11:21have oil
11:22in our
11:22lamps
11:23not
11:25half filled
11:27but we must
11:29have the vase
11:29of oil
11:30to top it up
11:31that implies
11:33daily topping
11:34up with the
11:35Lord
11:35before him
11:36when God
11:40called
11:40Moses
11:41he said
11:43to him
11:43take off
11:43your shoes
11:44off your feet
11:45take them
11:46off
11:46you're on
11:47holy ground
11:48in fact
11:53he's really
11:53saying
11:54where you're
11:54standing
11:54the round
11:55is sanctified
11:56it's set
11:57apart
11:57that's my
11:58domain
11:58that's what
12:00God was
12:00saying
12:01take your
12:02shoes off
12:02shoes
12:04are
12:04I think
12:06symbolic
12:06you think
12:09of shoes
12:10and they're
12:11covered
12:11inevitably
12:12they're
12:12covered
12:12with dust
12:13and dirt
12:13of the
12:14road
12:14and that
12:16implies
12:18a dirty
12:18life
12:19the dirt
12:20of our
12:21lives
12:21take your
12:23shoes off
12:23not in
12:26my
12:26presence
12:26Habakkuk
12:30reminds us
12:31about this
12:31about God
12:32he said
12:33your eyes
12:33are too
12:33pure
12:34to look
12:35on evil
12:35you cannot
12:37tolerate
12:37wrong
12:38and we
12:40should bear
12:40that in
12:40mind
12:41when we're
12:42tempted to
12:43do wrong
12:43we should
12:43be reminded
12:44of that
12:44God
12:46cannot
12:46look on
12:47that
12:47and you
12:49think about
12:49this world
12:50all the
12:50things that
12:50are going
12:51on
12:51LGBT
12:54even now
12:55I've got a
12:55female archbishop
12:57who's a
12:57lesbian
12:58how can
12:59God look
13:00upon that
13:01and all
13:02the other
13:02things that
13:03have crept
13:03into the
13:03church
13:04that can't
13:07be called
13:07holiness
13:07we've been
13:09set apart
13:10from all
13:10of that
13:11Moses was
13:14on the
13:14mountain
13:14and
13:16Josephus
13:17tells us
13:17that that
13:17mountain
13:18and its
13:18area
13:19was holy
13:20it was a
13:21sacred
13:21place
13:22and none
13:24of the other
13:24shepherds in
13:25that area
13:25would take
13:26their sheep
13:27up there
13:27onto that
13:27mountain
13:28because it
13:29was holy
13:29they recognised
13:31that
13:31but Moses
13:33didn't
13:33he didn't
13:34really have
13:34an experience
13:36of God
13:36at that
13:37time
13:37he was
13:38living with
13:39his father
13:39father-in-law
13:40and he was
13:41looking after
13:42the sheep
13:42and he saw
13:43the pasture
13:43was good
13:44so he took
13:45his sheep
13:45up there
13:46and they
13:46prospered
13:47and he
13:49was drawn
13:49he saw
13:52something
13:53happening
13:54no
13:56understanding
13:56of God
13:57but he
13:57was unaware
13:59of God's
13:59presence
14:00he was
14:02just going
14:02about his
14:03business
14:03but he
14:05was curious
14:05because he
14:06saw a bush
14:07burning
14:07and he
14:09went to
14:09explore
14:09and it's
14:11there that
14:12he came
14:12into the
14:12presence
14:13of a
14:13holy
14:13God
14:14and he
14:16had an
14:16awesome
14:17experience
14:18I believe
14:18he had
14:20an experience
14:21like I
14:21had when
14:22I was
14:22born again
14:22it was
14:24life-changing
14:25he became
14:27aware of
14:27the living
14:28God
14:28the God
14:29of his
14:30ancestors
14:30he was a
14:31Hebrew
14:31he came
14:33into the
14:34presence
14:34of a
14:34God
14:35that was
14:35real
14:36that was
14:37alive
14:38that burnt
14:40the bush
14:40and yet it
14:40wasn't
14:41consumed
14:41and he
14:43spoke with
14:44Moses
14:44life-changing
14:46and there's
14:48lessons in
14:49that for
14:49us
14:50if we
14:51can accept
14:51and believe
14:52the Bible
14:52message
14:53God
14:54invites us
14:55into the
14:56intimacy
14:56of relationship
14:57with him
14:57with himself
14:59it's through
15:00redemption
15:01and through
15:03that he
15:03wants us
15:05to have
15:05purity of
15:06heart
15:06so he
15:08invites us
15:08into relationship
15:09that's the
15:10first thing
15:10second
15:11he expects
15:12us to be
15:12holy
15:13because he's
15:13holy
15:14that's not
15:16something we
15:17can think
15:18about
15:19or put on
15:20the side
15:21if we
15:22enter this
15:23life
15:23he expects
15:24us to
15:25be holy
15:25and that's
15:27where we
15:27should be
15:28that's what
15:28our life
15:29should be
15:29like
15:29and thirdly
15:32he wants
15:33us to dwell
15:33in his
15:34presence
15:34God wants
15:35relationship
15:36with us
15:36and I know
15:38that many
15:39of you have
15:39or all of you
15:40have that
15:41relationship
15:41with him
15:42because it's
15:43a personal
15:44relationship
15:45it's not
15:46far off
15:47it's not
15:47the God
15:47of my
15:48fathers
15:48it's not
15:49the God
15:49of this
15:50nation
15:50it's
15:52personal
15:52Jesus
15:54lives
15:54within
15:54our
15:54hearts
15:55we are
15:57sealed
15:57with the
15:58Holy Spirit
15:58of God
15:59and he
16:01welcomes
16:01us into
16:01his
16:02presence
16:02but God
16:04said take
16:05off your
16:05shoes
16:05take them
16:07off your
16:07feet
16:07he could
16:08have just
16:09burnt
16:09them off
16:09I don't
16:11know whether
16:12you've been
16:12in very
16:13hot climates
16:14I remember
16:15once we
16:16were in
16:16America
16:17somewhere
16:17extremely
16:18hot
16:19and
16:20wearing
16:22sandals
16:22and walking
16:23on the
16:24pavement
16:26the tar
16:27the soles
16:28of my
16:28sandals
16:29were melting
16:29you know
16:31God could
16:33have done
16:33that with
16:34Moses
16:35sandals
16:36but he
16:36wanted to
16:37see Moses
16:37response
16:38and I
16:40guess
16:40Moses
16:40took his
16:41sandals
16:41off pretty
16:41quick
16:42he wanted
16:44to see
16:44that
16:44and he
16:45wants to
16:45see our
16:46response
16:47when we
16:48come into
16:48his
16:49presence
16:49he wants
16:51us to
16:51come in
16:52with that
16:52purity of
16:55heart
16:55that
16:57humility
16:57he wants
17:00to see
17:00our
17:00response
17:01Moses
17:03could have
17:03refused
17:04he could
17:07have said
17:07what's this
17:07what's this
17:08and walked
17:09away
17:10and we
17:11all have
17:12choices
17:12when God
17:14calls us
17:14like that

17:19shoes off

19:33well they
19:33won't understand
19:34perhaps why
19:35the way we
19:36live we do
19:37but they
19:38should feel
19:39the difference
19:39reminds me
19:45of a story
19:46there was
19:48a well-known
19:49golf professional
19:51and he
19:52played golf
19:54with
19:54President
19:55General Ford
19:56Gerald Ford
19:58Jack
19:58Nicklaus
19:59and Billy
20:00Graham
20:00and after
20:03the round
20:03was over
20:03one of the
20:05other pros
20:05asked
20:06the one
20:07playing with
20:07them
20:07he said
20:08hey
20:09what was it
20:11like playing
20:11with the
20:11President
20:12and Billy
20:13and the
20:17pro said
20:17the one
20:18who played
20:18he said

21:20should know
21:21what we stand

21:25wonder if we
21:25have that
21:26effect upon
21:26people
21:27I hope so

21:30think that we
21:31do
21:31maybe on our
21:33family
21:33our friends
21:35our neighbours
21:37we can't
21:39really go up
21:40to them and
21:40say what do

21:45feel that God's
21:46presence within me
21:46makes me
21:47different
21:47for lots of
21:49different reasons
21:50moral purity

22:03or caused
22:04the nation
22:04of Israel
22:05to be
22:05birthed
22:07and it
22:08was a
22:08nation that
22:09was birthed

22:11witness to
22:12the world
22:13that they
22:13lived in
22:14so that the
22:16world would
22:16know God
22:17the
22:20tabernacle
22:20was God's
22:21dwelling place
22:22and he
22:23dwelt in
22:24the holy
22:24of holies
22:25above the
22:26ark between
22:27the cherubim
22:28the tabernacle
22:31went wherever
22:32the children of
22:33Israel went
22:33in their
22:34wanderings in
22:34the wilderness
22:35they travelled
22:37a lot

22:41tabernacle
22:41was there
22:42with them
22:42every time

23:00surrounded
23:01they kept

23:02aware

23:04was set

23:09significant
23:09pointing
23:10forward
23:10but it
23:11happened
23:12it was in
23:13the form
23:14of a

23:17battle
23:18the tabernacle
23:19was there
23:20they carried
23:21the ark
23:22God's presence
23:23went with
23:23them
23:24they were
23:25set apart
23:26as a
23:26nation
23:26for God
23:27but they
23:29had the
23:30command
23:30to holiness
23:32they were
23:35called to
23:35holiness
23:36as a
23:36nation
23:37they were
23:39disobedient
23:39and we
23:40know the
23:40stories
23:40how they
23:41fell from
23:42grace
23:43but God
23:44was
23:44compassionate
23:45Ephesians 1
23:46tells us
23:47that God
23:47chose us
23:48in Christ
23:49before the
23:50foundation
23:51of the
23:51world
23:51he chose
23:53us
23:53you and
23:54I
23:54why
23:56that we
23:59should be
24:00holy
24:00and blameless
24:02before him

24:08chapter 2

25:35the anointing
25:37of God's
25:38Holy Spirit
25:38in chapter
25:431 verse 7
25:45it says
25:45of Ephesians

25:47redemption

25:48the forgiveness

27:07he moulded
27:08us on
27:08the potter's
27:09wheel
27:09he reshaped

27:17doing amongst
27:18my friends
27:19and I had
27:21a change
27:22of attitude

28:11we've been
28:12prepared
28:12for every
28:15good work
28:15for every

28:19and that
28:20comes out
28:20of holiness
28:20because we're
28:23trying to
28:23live for
28:24God
28:24we're trying
28:26to put on
28:26the holiness
28:27of God
28:28and so we
28:30will do
28:30those good
28:31works that
28:31he has
28:32purposed
28:32within us
28:33but a pot
28:36that's been
28:38on the
28:38potter's
28:38wheel
28:39it has
28:39to be
28:40fired
28:40and you
28:42know we
28:42ourselves
28:43we know
28:44we have
28:45to be
28:45fired
28:45in God's
28:47oven if
28:48you like
28:48and that
28:50happens in
28:50our daily
28:51walk
28:51it happens
28:52as we
28:53read the
28:53word
28:53and we're
28:55refined by
28:56the word
28:56of God
28:56we are
28:58changed
28:59we are
29:00transformed
29:00by the
29:01renewing of
29:01our minds
29:02this is
29:04God's work
29:04in us
29:05to make
29:07us holy
29:07we're not
29:09on our
29:10own
29:10when Moses
29:12went out
29:13because the
29:14Lord told
29:14him he

30:56how do
30:56you try
30:57to overcome
30:57them
30:58but he
30:58knows
30:58and he's
31:00there ready

31:01but to do

31:07we must
31:09have a
31:09constant
31:10regard for
31:10his word
31:11so we
31:13need to
31:13read it
31:14we need
31:14that input
31:15because just
31:17to get input
31:17from the
31:18world
31:18we would
31:19be deceived
31:20we need
31:22the input
31:23of the
31:23truth
31:24of the
31:26word that
31:26we have
31:26in the
31:27scriptures
31:27that's the
31:29only truth
31:30there is
31:30there used
31:31to be a
31:32saying
31:32didn't
31:33there
31:33it's
31:33gospel
31:34truth
31:34we knew
31:35that that's
31:36what it
31:36meant
31:36it was
31:37gospel
31:37truth
31:38today
31:39there's
31:40no such
31:40thing
31:41in the
31:41world
31:41they don't
31:43recognise
31:44that as
31:44gospel
31:45truth
31:45as
31:45the
31:46truth
31:47they have
31:48their own
31:48opinions
31:49of it
31:49but if
31:51we're going
31:52to live
31:52holy and
31:52blameless
31:53lives
31:53we must
31:54know the
31:54truth
31:54of God
31:55holiness

32:01of life
32:02it's not
32:04negative
32:04it's
32:06positive
32:07we're not
32:09put down
32:09by holiness

32:56holiness
33:01walk
33:04before me
33:05and be
33:05blameless
33:06God
33:07said that
33:08to Abraham
33:09three
33:10four thousand
33:10years ago
33:11and he
33:13says it
33:13to us
33:13today
33:14walk
33:16with me
33:17as
33:18children
33:18of God
33:18it
33:20requires
33:20us to
33:21pursue
33:21holiness
33:22to
33:24actively
33:25pursue
33:25holiness
33:26and that
33:28does mean
33:28I guess
33:29saying no
33:29to some
33:30things
33:30and not
33:31just going
33:32along
33:32with the
33:32crowd
33:33it
33:37must be
33:37our
33:37central
33:38concern
33:38if we're
33:40going to
33:40be ready
33:41for his
33:42return
33:42therefore
33:45holiness
33:46or
33:46sanctification
33:47it's an
33:48ongoing
33:48transformation
33:49it's not
33:51something that
33:52comes once
33:53for all
33:53it starts
33:55with the
33:56new birth
33:56when God
33:57sets us
33:58apart
33:59and gives
34:00us a new
34:00heart
34:01and we
34:02become a
34:02new man
34:03the old
34:03man has
34:03passed
34:04away
34:04that's the
34:05beginning
34:05but holiness
34:07grows within
34:08us as our
34:09relationship
34:09with God
34:10grows
34:10the
34:12Westminster
34:12shorter
34:13catechism
34:14definition
34:14of
34:15sanctification
34:15is
34:17the work
34:18of God's
34:19grace
34:19whereby we
34:21are renewed
34:22in the
34:22whole man
34:23after the
34:24image of
34:24God
34:25and are
34:26enabled
34:26more and
34:27more to
34:28die to
34:28sin
34:28and to
34:30live
34:30to
34:31righteousness
34:31so it's
34:35growth
34:35on the
34:38day
34:38that we
34:39accepted
34:39Jesus
34:40we were
34:40permanently
34:41set
34:41aside
34:41but we
34:43have a
34:43life
34:43before us
34:44and we
34:44should
34:44grow
34:45into that

34:47gain strength

35:45working

35:53fruit of
35:53the Spirit
35:54becomes
35:54evident
35:55what are
35:57the fruits
35:57of the
35:58Spirit
35:58well they
36:00grow within

36:01it's love
36:02joy
36:02peace
36:03patience
36:04kindness
36:06goodness
36:06faithfulness
36:07gentleness
36:08and self
36:08control
36:09I'm sure
36:10you all
36:10know those
36:11but that's
36:12the life
36:13that we
36:13have been
36:14born into
36:15that those
36:16things should
36:17take root
36:17in our
36:18lives
36:18and they
36:19will grow
36:20as we
36:21have
36:21relationship
36:22with God
36:23we should
36:26be further
36:27afield
36:28further on
36:28in that
36:29life than
36:29we were
36:29a year
36:30ago
36:30we'll
36:31never come
36:32to maturity
36:33the fruits
36:35are always
36:35going to be
36:36growing in
36:36us
36:37what a
36:40contrast
36:41that is
36:41to the
36:42works of
36:43the flesh
36:43and it's
36:45listed in
36:45the same
36:46chapter as
36:46the fruit
36:47of the
36:47Spirit
36:48works of
36:50the flesh
36:50are
36:51sexual
36:51immorality
36:52impurity
36:53sensuality
36:55idolatry
36:57sorcery
36:58enmity
36:59strife
37:00jealousy
37:02fits of
37:03anger
37:04rivalries
37:05dissensions
37:07divisions
37:08and envy
37:10drunkenness
37:12and orgies
37:13and there
37:15are other
37:15things as
37:15well
37:16but what a
37:17contrast
37:18scripture
37:22tells us
37:23that we
37:23were called
37:24to a
37:25holy living
37:26Timothy
37:27reminds us
37:28of that
37:29and that
37:31implies
37:31separation
37:32from the
37:32world that
37:32we live
37:33in
37:33sometimes
37:35we have
37:35to make
37:36a stand
37:36I don't
37:39know whether
37:39you've signed
37:40any of the
37:40petitions about
37:41some of the
37:41things that
37:42have happened
37:42about abortion
37:43or assisted
37:45dying and
37:46things like
37:46that but
37:47that's a
37:47little thing
37:48but we
37:48can sign
37:49it
37:49we should
37:51be standing
37:51against those
37:52things because
37:54they're wrong
37:54in God's
37:55eyes
37:55there are
37:56nothing
37:56to God
37:57living a
38:02life of
38:02holiness
38:02may sound
38:03hard
38:03it may
38:04sound
38:04difficult
38:05even
38:05unpleasant
38:06sounds
38:08full of
38:09negatives
38:09may be
38:10to some
38:10may be
38:12difficult
38:12but it's
38:15what we
38:15were called
38:16for
38:16what we
38:17were called
38:18into
38:18quite the
38:21contrary
38:22as Paul
38:23says
38:24and Paul
38:25prays
38:26and he
38:28prays and
38:28he says
38:28that the
38:29eyes of
38:29your heart
38:30might be
38:30enlightened
38:31our lives
38:33our minds
38:34our hearts
38:34must be
38:35enlightened
38:35to the
38:35things of
38:36God
38:36and to
38:37the mystery
38:37of his
38:38will
38:38holiness
38:41is a
38:41mystery to
38:42the world
38:42they don't
38:43understand
38:43why
38:44they recognise
38:46some of the
38:47characteristics
38:48but they
38:48don't understand
38:49why
38:49but we
38:53Paul prays
38:54that we
38:54should be
38:55enlightened
38:55and to
38:56know the
38:57hope to
38:57which we've
38:58been called
38:59we have
39:01a hope
39:01that the
39:02world
39:02doesn't
39:02even know
39:03of
39:03it
39:03doesn't
39:03understand
39:04a hope
39:04that God
39:05uses as
39:06he pours
39:06out his
39:07incomparably
39:08great power
39:09for us
39:10who believe
39:10he pours
39:14out his
39:14power on
39:15you
39:15can you
39:18imagine
39:18that the
39:19God of
39:19the universe
39:20all his
39:23power
39:23is poured
39:25out on
39:25you
39:26and upon
39:28me
39:29I'm
39:30overwhelmed
39:31with that
39:31sometimes
39:32but as
39:35Jesus
39:35walked the
39:36earth and
39:36performed
39:37miracles
39:37then in
39:39our small
39:40way we
39:40should be
39:41walking this
39:41earth performing
39:42miracles
39:43we've seen
39:46some through
39:47our lifetime
39:48small things
39:49compared with
39:50the majesty
39:51of God
39:51but the
39:53point I'm
39:53making is
39:54that God
39:55has poured
39:55out through
39:56his incomparably
39:57great power
39:58is available
40:00to you
40:00and to
40:01me
40:01we can
40:03walk in
40:03that power
40:04I don't
40:05know if any
40:06of you

40:11older than
40:12probably most

40:13and yet he's
40:15still holding
40:15the world
40:16stage
40:17proclaiming
40:18the gospel
40:19to people
40:20to people
40:20in the
40:20Middle East
40:21and the
40:22Afghanistan
40:22and Ukraine
40:25and even
40:28being to
40:28Israel
40:29and he's
40:30seeing miracles
40:31every time
40:32he preaches
40:33he's seeing
40:34miracles happen
40:35and hundreds
40:35thousands
40:36coming to a
40:37knowledge of
40:37Christ
40:37that's the
40:39God I
40:40believe in
40:40I know
40:43he's a
40:43chosen vessel
40:44but so
40:46are you
40:46so am I
40:47where we
40:49live
40:49we can
40:51pray for
40:51our family
40:52we can
40:52see and
40:52for our
40:53neighbours
40:53and our
40:53friends
40:54and I'm
40:56sure you
40:56do
40:56but it's
40:59the way
40:59we live
41:00it's the
41:00words that
41:00we use
41:02to proclaim
41:02the gospel
41:03God's
41:05power is
41:06poured out
41:06in you
41:07and me
41:08that's part
41:10of his
41:10plan
41:10that we
41:12should live
41:13holy and
41:14blameless
41:14close to
41:16him
41:16to do
41:17the works
41:18that Moses
41:18did when
41:19he went
41:19in front
41:20of Egypt
41:20that's the
41:24God that
41:24we believe
41:25in
41:25can do
41:26things that
41:27are beyond
41:27our
41:28capabilities
41:29the life
41:32of holiness
41:33is positive
41:34and it's
41:35exciting
41:35one of the
41:37characteristics
41:37of holiness
41:38we're
41:39we're
41:40exhorted to
41:41live a life
41:41worthy
41:42of the
41:43calling that
41:44we've
41:44received
41:44worthy
41:46holiness
41:47is not
41:48an optional
41:48extra
41:49Paul says

41:51it's a
41:52life of
41:52consecration
41:53a vocation
41:54a vocation
41:56of holiness
41:57something our
41:58whole life
41:59is given

42:56characteristics

42:58humble
42:59and gentle

43:05the spirit

43:19they think
43:20that humility

43:30I'm speaking
43:32generally by the
43:33way not
43:34everybody

43:45is strength
43:46strength
43:50truth
43:52and righteousness
43:53give strength

44:47entrance to
44:48one of the
44:49tunnels
44:50the dim
44:51passageways
44:52he saw a
44:53beautiful little
44:54flower
44:54a white
44:56flower
44:56in full
44:58bloom
44:58it was
45:00simply growing
45:00out of the
45:01grimy
45:02dust and
45:03dirt of the
45:04coal mine
45:05and he said
45:07to his
45:08guy
45:08how could
45:09it blossom
45:10in such
45:10a place
45:11with such
45:11purity
45:12and such
45:13radiance
45:14in this
45:14dirty
45:14place
