00:00My name is Nigel Linley and I'm here to represent Deepcar Village Community Association who
00:12will manage and maintain Deepcar Village Hall in Tallywell Lane. First of all, I'd like
00:18to thank you all for the opportunity to present our application for funding to enable us to
00:24refurbish Deepcar Village Hall Card Bar. The hall is well used by various groups such as Deepcar
00:32Brass Bank, Dancing Out Dance Pass, Slinging World, Boogie Bounce, Carely Dancers and another
00:41dance group, Monsai Growers, Workshops and Children's Parties and polling stations on election days.
00:52The number of people using the hall in one week is about 300 and the car park is used by all the different groups.
01:03All the car park belongs to the village hall. It is also used by the residents, emergency services and health workers
01:12who live and attend Hello Alcor, Retirement Masks. As well as giving access to Deepcar St John's Junior
01:22School playing fields and for the two Parts Guild Junior Football Club teams that use it on Saturday. We also would like to think that parents taking their children to school using the car park would greatly reduce the congestion and improve safety.
01:41on St. Barnard's Road. The car park surface was originally laid and I've been told tonight it was 51 years ago not 50. This surface has worn away down to the red asphalt and red
01:59the red shale foundation which in wet weather the shale gets washed down into Helluil Lane and was very unsightly. It also gets washed down the path leading to the hole from the car park and gets very slippery to the point where we have had in the past had to close that gate.
02:21We have had several quotes but in excess of £30,000 to carry out this work. We are asking for the maximum amount allowable of £20,000. The shortfall will be paid for out of the village hall funds. Should we be successfully obtained in this grant it would not only be beneficial to the people of the
02:50already mentioned but will greatly improve the appearance of the area. In recent years the village hall has had a reservation. For example we have a new roof, replacement roof insulation and suspended ceiling, LED lighting, new floor, new kitchen, economy central heat deployment, new entrance on fire doors, stage curtains,
03:18stage curtains, new decoration, new decoration and the refurbishment of the gents toilets earlier this year. The grounds of the hall are well maintained by ongoing grass cutting and tree pruning making it a very pleasant outside area.
03:40All of our committee are very proud of our hope and what we have achieved over three years but without grants such as this we cannot continue to keep giving the facility in the manner that our users are accustomed to.
04:00Please take the time to visit our display shows how desperate we are to improve the facility. Thank you for your time and please vote for our project.
04:10Please consider giving the favor of our project and how steadfast it will increase the ability.
04:14Thank you for theilly approved by the Physician Co.
04:16Please
04:19Thank you very much for your time and I'm very happy for now.
04:26It is a great solution.
